After multiple calls/voicemail to the appointment desk and the doctors office, I was unable to get in touch with anyone able to schedule my appointment (not a normal check-up). I made phone calls daily for over a month, with no one able to help me. The computer wouldnt let the representative do it, and I was told daily there was no way around. Finally, I got online and found the contact information for Public Relations with the hospital in New Orleans...24 hours later I had an appointment scheduled for that week, and the staff was able to get everything they needed for the appointment. My doctor, who I later found out is on the board of directors of the hospital, was very rude, and spoke about me to the nurse as if I wasnt there. Later, they billed me incorrectly!

The best you could ask for in care and clarity. Ive been with Ochsner since moving to baton rouge and their staff has always been very kind and courteous answering any questions I had and keeping my care schedule smooth and organized. The doctors know their stuff and so do the nursing staff. I inquired as to the work environment and was interested to hear that they receive regular training to keep up to speed on the latest. Definitely use anything with the Ochsner name on it for health care if you can around here. Ending side note: Their website is very organized and user friendly if you make an account with them. They literally lay everything in front of you there for max transparency. A+

Went to see the dermatologist (hall) for one thing and was told it was no biggie, but another spot was suspicious (an larger). A punch could not be taken, so it was removed for testing. BUT since the doc did not get prior authorization, it cost me $476. I called blue cross and they explained the prior authorization part to me. It makes me sick, but I will not be using my healthcare this time!
