I started seeing Dr Carter after Dr Hart retired, some many years ago. I LOVED Dr Hart, and wasnt sure I could ever find one as good as him. Dr Carter has definitely got a different personality, but I think so much of him...professionally and personally. Hes such a nice, genuine person and loves to enjoy life. Over the years I have learned about his family and got to know him a lot better. We have shared stories of our children, their time in school, trips, and just everyday life happenings. In his office you can tell he embraces and cherishes the same types of relationships we do as his patients. Hes just a good, honest, straightforward doctor and man. I think just as much of him as I did Dr Hart, and I SO value and respect his opinion as a dr. I have had a long line of problems with endometriosis. He has been so helpful, knowledgable, professional, and just plain considerate through procedures, surgeries, dr visits and so forth. Over the years I have had a laproscopy surgery for endometriosis, ablation procedure to try and help, hysterectomy, and in the past several years have had to go in to deal with problems for my hormone levels. He has listened to me fuss , listened to me cry, seen me scared, seen me fat, seen me skinny, seen me young... and now he sees me "middle aged."

The man has a horrible, condescending attitude towards overweight people. He told me that I could not feel fetal movement because I was too fat, and constantly made comments throughout my prenatal visits that there was "too much of you to look at." In addition, he would refuse to address my concerns and answer questions. Whether thats because I was overweight or he just didnt like what he was hearing from me, Im not sure. During the delivery his bedside manner was simply atrocious - my daughter did have a non-survivable condition, my notice of her decreased movement which was ignored was in fact correct - and he created a far larger incision than my previous cesarean for a baby that was half the size. He discharged me from the practice quite rudely without the second post-surgical followup once my stitches were out from the cesarean, and Willis Knighton basically told me I was out of luck to even see another physician at the same practice. Do yourself a favor and just find another doctor for regular OB care or prenatal care. I had been a patient of Dr. Harts and selected Dr. Carter when he retired because he was the next senior doctor at the practice. That was a terrible mistake.

We arrived at Barksdale AFB ten years ago...and I was searching for the best OBGYN to help me through my first pregnancy...it was very important that the doctor had a loving and caring bed side manner towards his patients...I was so nervous about my first pregnancy! I was working with photography at the time...mostly newborns...and I would ask my clients about their doctors...and the name that repeatedly came up was Dr. John Carter. I called his practice and originally was not able to get him...he had a 6 month waiting list. So they had me go with another physician in his practice...after 2 months, they had to change my doctor and I ended up with Dr. Carter after all!!!! I was so excited!!!! Hes been incomparable to the doctors Ive had in the past! I was in the absolute BEST care with both my pregnancies...and I still am! I continued to keep him as my GYN. Dr. Carters success is a testimony to the peerless levels of attentiveness that is given to his patients. Hes a remarkable doctor...hell be your physician and friend while in his care...you will not go wrong with this decision!!!

Dr. Carter is the second best dr I have ever had. The first was the drs place he took after he retired and his name was Dr. Long. Dr. Carter is amazing. He is so caring and a great listener. He has been on point for every issue good and bad that Ive had! Best of the best is that he is a good Christian and family man! I wish there were more stars because I would keep going on and on about him. Its hard to find dr these days with good bed side manners and who is willing to go above and beyond to help you or get you to someone who can help you. I seek his advice on other medical issues and he helps me so much! I get excited when I have an appt with him because no matter what my problem is by the time I leave his office I feel better physically and mentally because he always has a positive thing to say about anything that you are going through. He is always honest but if its bad news he will see the good in it. Thanks dr Carter for all you do and for being who you are. I am forever blessed that God sent this dr to me and me to him!

When I moved here 11 years ago, I was looking for a new gynecologist. After trying two or three others, I found the best. Dr. Carter has always made me feel comfortable and calm during routine exams. Once I started having children, he exceeded my expectations. My deliveries were the best because of him. There were a few concerns during one pregnancy and Dr. Carter was always upfront with information but with a compassion for his patient. I love Dr. Carter and recommend him to anyone looking for a phenomenal doctor.

Dr. Carter is an amazing doctor with a great bedside manner. There was never a time throughout my pregnancy that I was not able to reach out to him or his staff with concerns I may have had at the time. His nurse are absolutely amazing as well. Its like being treated by family. I highly recommend him to anyone who is in the market for a new ob-gyn or for someone who is not quite satisfied with their current treatment. You will not be disappointed!
