Aweful, the dentists there are butchers and the staff is rude. I went in for 2 fillings, and the day after I had the fillings done I was in agonizing pain. Long story short, one of my teeth were dying, and when they did the filling they aggravated it and caused monumental damage. On the second tooth they did the filling, there was nothing wrong with it, no cavities were even close to my root. I have seen two excellent dental specialists and neither can figure out what Aspen Dental did to kill my tooth. Long story short, those two fillings killed two of my teeth, forcing me to get root canals. They are absolutely the worst, do not go the cheap way out by going to them. They just cause damage and you end up spending more!! Trust me, they are uneducated and do not care about their clients at all. The front staff is rude, a lady named Kathie lied to my face, was extremely rude. Aweful, aweful, aweful...

Too early to say, only because I cannot possibly know what the durability of this work will be. I give 4 stars only because I cannot know the durability of the filling. That takes time. However, regarding all other aspects of my Aspen experience today......I would highly recommend Aspen to all people I know. Lisa, the Dental Technician and Dr. Oakes, were great. They worked quietly and effectively together. The work was done surprisingly fast too. I arrived at 1 PM and we were done at 1:51 PM. I wonder if I read the clock correctly. Honestly, I hope that Aspen does not expect this Doctor to work this fast all the time. Dr. Oakes was efficient. I believe the work will hold up for a long time. But only time will tell. BTW, after the work, Dr. Oakes took the time to clearly explain what I could expect. I like Aspen!

When I arrived Aug.08,I was there to inquire about a liner and an extraction, evidentally I had outgrown my original dentures. Your South Portland office quickly and efficiently scheduled me for my mouth makeover. Although I was a bit disappointed to lose the remainder of my lower teeth, I was fitted with a comfortable temporary lower. Four days ago,(Aug.31,09) I was moved to tears of happiness when I saw how beautiful my teeth were.Sure I am adjusting to the new dentures but it is no more painful than the first time around,I find that when I keep the upper palate soft and moist(I use a neti pot for my sinuses) it helps a great deal, and for my co-cigarette smokers,you can make the transistion easier if you abstain,the smoke DRIES your mouth and it HURTS! Since I am a smoker,I know. ;D

Woke up with an abscessed tooth ..... 10 AM I called and got the answering machine that didnt recognize cell phones..1 for this 2 for that 3 for something else ... Used my land line and got thru ... lots questions.. name , address, insurance on and on ... please arrive at 3:15...OK .... 1 hr later phone rings... would 2:30 be OK ... Sure...I Arrive at 2:26 they couldnt find any file on me....finally found... I filled out more paper work and then waited ...and waited ( abscessed tooth ) .... 2:45 ,2:55, 3:05 .. I return to receptionist and say I had a 2:30 appointment ..she smiled and said ..Oh let me talk to some one. Thanks I said NO ...Just tear up my paperwork . INCOMPETENT !!!!!

They do good work. They dont try to push cosmetic improvements that you dont have any interest in like my last Dentist office did. They listen to what you want and are totally up front about what its going to cost you out of pocket. Ive been to other Dentists that bill you after the fact for things that "were not covered by your insurance". They are able to do everything at this location, from cleanings to oral surgery to dentures. No need to see multiple Drs. They are a good "working mans" dental office. They are not top of the line, but you wont leave feeling like you wish you had gone somewhere else.

I always feel rushed through my appointments. They spend very little time cleaning my teeth and I walk out not even feeling like my teeth were cleaned. The dentists spend less than 2 minutes with you and its a new dentist every time. Ive also had many scheduling conflicts. I booked my appointment 6 months in advance only to have them cancel my appointment on me the week before and not be able to fit me in again for months. I only get an average of one cleaning a year now when I used to go twice just because of scheduling conflicts. The whole experience is very standardized. Very corporate.

I absolutely love this place! back in 2009 i broke my tooth and didnt have any insurance. they offer free exam and x-ray for first time customers so i decided to try them out. I havent gone anywhere else since! They are friendly and always welcome you. This establishment is CLEAN! anytime i go i know i will be getting the best service. I just had a cleaning yesterday and the girl that did it was SO good! she took her time and made sure that everything was done completely. i havent had a better cleaning. i HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone looking for quality service.

I recently went in for a cleaning and some other dental work. I had Audra both days and she was the epitome of kind, compassionate, and professional. She consistently made sure I was okay with what was happening, checked in on how comfortable I was, and did a phenomenal job of explaining every step of what she was doing. I felt very comfortable with her and did not get tense or anxious at all like I have in the past. She was also extremely patient with me when I was asking questions and made sure I understood what she was telling me. Thank you Audra!

I went to aspen and had a good experience. I moved away for a few years then came back and scheduled an appointment hoping for the same. I called and ask for a teeth cleaning. I took off work and went in only to discover it was an "evaluation" since I hadnt been in so long. No cleaning. I called another dentist and it wouldnt have been a problem to do a cleaning and evaluation in one appointment for this other dentist. Aspen screwed up. I called them out while I was in the office and they got defensive and treated me like a problem. Such a waste of time.

Went in for tooth pain... they told me I might need to have a root canal or have the tooth pulled since I cant afford a root canal. They then said they would be able to clean it out and fill it like a normal cavity which they did... except now, months later I found out that they only did part of it. My new dentist is utterly bewildered about why they would only fill half the tooth and not take care of the entire cavity. Meanwhile Im stuck holding the bill - I have to pay for another filling on the same tooth since they screwed it up. NEVER GO HERE.

I just left the office and saw Dr. Steed and I forget the Dental Assistant but OMG they were FANTASTIC! They worked well together. They were kind, explained everything and I felt NOTHING!!! I am like the other 99% of people...I am scared of the dentist and pain. I am not kidding when I say from the moment I sat in the chair till the moment I left the office (which was about 45 minutes) I felt NOTHING. No needle, no grinding...NOTHING. I just about fell asleep in the chair. You must check this place out!!! I think I am a lifer!!!
