Arrived today for a tooth that had to be capped and a filling. I had the normal numbing for the procedure. I watched the whole procedure being done, I saw how they milled my new tooth and baked it to a glass stage. Way cool to see, I did not know that it would bake at over 1400 degrees. The experience as always is great, the staff will always give you answers and you leave a more knowledgeable person. The best thing ever was the new anti numbing shot at the end, I had been requesting Dr. Magarr to get this in for a long time, he finally bought it in, what a great experience, after the procedure was completed, he gave me a shot to reverse the numbing, it was minutes, and I mean minutes and my mouth was back to normal condition. I always used to have a mouth that was numb for hours. Yes it cost a little more, but it is worth every penny. Leave your dentist after a filling or two, bridge, cap or major reconstruction and be able to go to lunch or dinner, it is priceless! Thank you Maine Family Dental, your the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An old friend recommended this office to me when I moved back to Maine and needed to find a new dentist, and Im glad she did! Dr. Buxtons painless dentistry and the same-day crowns make it well worth the travel. Ive now had several crowns fixed, and its only taken one fairly short appointment to get the entire job done each time. Id been used to having to return several times to my last dentists: once to get impressions, again weeks later to have the new crown installed, and then two or three more trips to try to get it fitted better. No more: here its done quickly and the tooth fits perfectly the first time. Also had a tangled-root tooth extracted and a dental implant, without any of the pain, swelling, or bruising Id come to expect with previous dentists. Didnt need any post-op pain medicine and didnt have to miss any planned activities afterwards. Thank you, Dr. Buxton, Nicole, and "Miss Congeniality" at the desk!

I can never say enough good things about them. If youre looking, stop the search and come here, you can thank me later! They will not disappoint you. For years I was TERRIFIED to go to the dentist because of terrible personal experiences and horror stories Ive heard from other people. So..I avoided the dentist for years. When I heard about Maine Family Dental (specifically Dr. Buxton) I decided Id get over my fear and give the whole Dentist thing another shot. I had a hefty list of work I needed and from the moment I went in I was treated so amazing, the whole office (who knew I was afraid, sobbing upon entering...yup thats how much I hated the Dentist) was extremely sensitive and supportive. Dr. Buxton has done a great amount of work in my mouth and he is always genuinely concerned with me and making sure I am as comfortable as possible! I recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Maine Family Dental is the best! I became a patient a couple of years ago when I had broken a tooth in the middle of the day and they were the only practice (including my former dentist) who would even consider seeing me on short notice. They were so friendly and helpful, they got me right in and my tooth was fixed that afternoon. Im so glad to have found them! I have been back many times since then, for everything from regular cleanings to a dental implant, and I have received wonderful service each and every time. The staff is awesome, they know you by name and always greet you and make you feel welcome and comfortable. By far the best experience I have ever had with a dentist!!!

I have been a patient for 20 years and cant say enough nice things about this practice. Everyone is so nice from the clerical staff who handle billing and schedules to hygienist and doctors. They are very good about monitoring your dental benefits and financing for my two children braces. They are like family members asking to see pictures of the new granddaughter. I see them once every six months and it is like we talk daily. The hygienist are very supportive due to my gag reflex. I wouldnt go anywhere else. I have always referred both friends and my employees. Thank you for the opportunity to write this review.

I was very pleased with the professional service and friendly atmosphere at Maine Family Dental. The ladies at the reception desk were more than helpful during my transition from another dental office and made the process pain free. Dr. Buxton made me feel comfortable upon my first visit. I had a bad experience with another dentist and Dr. Buxton addressed my concerns tremendously. The dental assistants are basically Dentists, they all seem to be very knowledgeable and communicate very well with Dr. Buxton. Keep up the great work!! Thank you for all that you have done!!

Having been a dental hygienist for 40 years I have experience regarding how a practice will treat its patients. I noted the respect that staff have for each other. They clearly understand what it means to work as a team. When this dynamic is evident the level of care is most often exceptional. That has been my experience thus far. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet professional and all the staff is very personable. Dr. Buxton leads a group of dental professionals who are dedicated and offer a high level of care. I have been coming to Maine Family Dental for more than a dozen years, and the staff is fantastic - friendly and professional. The dental care is great as well, when I needed a crown the one day crown process was wonderful - loved getting it done in one day, and the crown looks beautiful and has been fine. When my husband (a patient for even longer than me) had a dental emergency on a weekend, they returned his call quickly and got him in first thing on Monday morning. We are in good hands with Dr McGarr and Dr Buxton, and their dental and office staff.
