Mistakes and rude folks. Today was the second time Ive loaded up my three cats and took them to the vet at Laurel only to be told to leave by the check in clerk. The first time was in 2016 when I had an apt at 5pm for my three cats - we arrived early and were told we were late, that our apt was at three. I was really confused because I knew it was at 5pm, it was written down in three locations as 5pm. There was no confirmation calls made to us, so I had no clue they had 3 on their books. We were frustrated and took our business to Columbia. Today I called the Columbia office to tell them Im in route but will be 10 minutes late for my hour and a half apt. They tell me my apt has been made for the Laurel office. Oh no! The woman in Columbia calls the Laurel office and explains that I thought the apt was in Columbia. The woman in Laurel says I can come but they may not be able to see all three cats, Im fine with this. So I drive out. I am a half hour late for my hour and a half apt. But am told that they will not see me at all because Im late, even though there is still an hour left of my apt and she agrees that the slot for my last cats apt starts at 4:14 (its 4:00). Again I am told to leave. Again, no confirmation call was ever made from Laurel that could have alerted me of the apt mistakenly made there. But I wont be returning to that vet, or the store again. They could see a mistake had been made but were completely unwilling to work with me and were very rude about it, again. My advice...go to Columbia. At least you will get a confirmation call so youll know if you messed up the apt. plus they are much more willing to work with you. Im certain, if they knew I was in route and still had an hour left that they would have seen at least one of my three cats, perhaps even two of them. I would not have been turned away at the door.

A while ago I took my cat to Banfield (Laurel, MD) for shots; it was OK and not too expensive so when she got an ear problem I went back. They said she had a fungical and bacterial ear infection and gave me meds for her with a bill total of $300. My cat had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic medicine and so they told me to bring her in. I told them I wanted to change the antibiotic to Clavamox which she tolerates well. They said they only had the pills and would have to crush the pills and put them in a solution. I said fine, because I did not want to go too long without medicating her. They left the room and came back and said they wouldn’t do that and gave me a prescription and said I could have it filled at any pharmacy. I tried several pharmacies who told me that they didn’t even have Clavamox in their database. I ended up going to another Banfield which had some in stock and I was able to obtain it. The total bill is now at $400. When I complained about the cost of the 1st visit and the $50 med which my cat was allergic to, they were very cold, and said they could not do anything about it. I couldn’t believe that they would charge me for a second visit and refuse to provide me with the alternative medication or at least try to locate some. I had to go on a wild goose chase to get it. I have had 10 different pets in my life, and numerous ear infections. I have never had such an expensive one and have never had such appallingly indifferent treatment. And they still expected me to come back in 2 weeks for a followup? Are you kidding? I will take my cat back to Virginia to her old vet who is 3 hours away before I return to Banfield.

If I could I would give this place a negative stars rating! My boyfriend and I just took our baby Rex to this location worst mistake ever. First of all the so called "nurse" Monica had no idea on what she was doing. She took his temperature and made him completely uncomfortable and in pain because she took it at an angel where she couldnt even see where she was poking to. Then when holding him she was hurting his stomach to the point where he was crying. Now the doctor we had didnt know how to put his shot with his Lyme shot she poked him like 3 times before being able to actually inject it. Also one of the shots it was broken and the liquid was coming out through the syringe. What made me highly upset is that the nurse was making rude comments. Calling my puppy "rude" for moving around. HE IS 4 MONTHS, STILL A PUPPY. I can promise you that we will never be going back here, and I highly recommend everyone stay away from here if they love their babies! The entire staff here needs to be replaced in order to improve this place rating.

Anyone considering using this hospital for your pet, I urge you to reconsider using this place. My fiancee and I decided to use these guys because we adopted a cat and it included coupons to this place which made it very convenient and close to home for us. The cat we adopted had tapeworms and we wanted to get it treated immediately. This hospital will nickel and dime you even for the simplest visits even when it is to check back up on the progress of their original treatments from a previous visit. If you arent looking to spend over $500 on the simplest treatments such as an oral medication or a shot, find a local vet that has reasonable prices and spare yourself a horrific and expensive experience. God forbid your pet has serious problems, you may have to crack open your 401k to satisfy these vampires. Stay away!

I took my Dog because she had anal gland rupture a few months ago, so I wanted to make sure her anal glands did not need to be expressed. They charged me 74 dollars and turns out her anal glands were empty. I brought her home, and she has fleas, I called banfield to see if they would provide some sort of flea treatment like frontline. They stated it was not their responsibility even though my dog did get fleas in their dirty hospital. The room was filthy, it looked like they hadnt cleaned the floors in I dont even know how long, they claimed my pet could of gotten the fleas in petsmart or from the walk to my car, I will be reporting this hospital, and I will never take my pet back!

Great care at this Banfield. Have taken care of my cat Toby for years. Dr. Brown and her team worked with Toby through a chronic bought of constipation and nursed him back to health over a matter of weeks. Very clear about the treatment plan and we had a good outcome. They also referred us to a good specialist when it looked like his condition might need extra care but luckily he bounced back before needing this. Would recommend the Laurel Banfield to everyone!

All they want is your money, dont care about the animal or the owner. Took my cat here and she wanted to do all this testing($1200.00). I took my Lazy to a different vet and just a visual exam(like at banfield) they knew it was cancer. Just sick on how people can do this to an animal and the owner. Its hard enough when that time comes but to have a vet say oh, its to early to think about uthinizing.
