I was, until today, a client of this practice. I had three animals under their care. Honestly, I should have sought another vet after my first visit. Short version: senseless nickle & dime/hard sell tactics; lack of knowledge; over-priced for level of care. Long version: Todays visit, for my Great Pyrenees pup, began with a recommendation for $394 worth of services - prior to any whiff of a doctor. The dog needed only an exam, heartworm preventative, and first rabies shot. Hes a healthy dog. After eliminating the extraneous items on the care estimate, I ended up paying $109 for necessary services (including $5.70 for hazardous waste disposal, which they charge on every visit, regardless of care rendered). In addition, the vet was very concerned about my dogs extra dew claw on each rear leg. He recommended surgery to remove them because, "...dogs should only have one on each side." You need only google Great Pyrenees to see the error in that comment. From a veterinarian. Finally, the vet refused, through his staff, to provide a prescription for ongoing heartworm preventative. First they expressed "concern" that 1-800-PetMeds sold defective products. Then they doubted that my certified livestock scale was accurate enough (within 25 pounds) to determine which heartworm chew my dog needed each month. They ultimately refused the prescription because the heartworm chews are, "...an FDA regulated substance." I knew that, which is the only reason I was asking for the Rx. It isnt, however, a controlled substance and it is perfectly reasonable to ask for a six month prescription to be filled by a licensed pharmacy - unless your primary goal is to squeeze every penny you can from each customer. This is one example from several in my personal experience. It is not difficult to see why same day and next day appointments are always available here. That should have been my first warning sign. I run a farm alone and was pressed for time. This vet was nearby. Thats my only excuse. Anyhow, lesson learned. I hope the information is helpful to you.

I am very happy with EVERY part of Clinton Veterinary Hospital. I was a client before Dr. Debretsion purchased the hospital. He is very caring and does what is best for your pet. His current staff is wonderful and very caring. I have 3 pets and each one is treated with love and kindness. He gives you his honest opinion and diagnosis. My dogs have had some very difficult issues, Dr. Debretsion was able to address their issues and come up with a game plan. He personally calls you and talks to you when he gets test results back. I saw that the other 2 reviews talked about an employee named Monica. I know for a fact that Monica no longer works for Clinton Veterinary Hospital. If you EVER have an issue with any part of Clinton veterinary hospital, Dr. Debretsion or his staff would love to talk to you about it and help in any way possible. You cannot go wrong trying Clinton Veterinary Hospital!!!

This place used to be owned by a different vet, since he was retiring he sold it to the new owners and they kept all his customers. All the new owners are about is to make money first and service second. I have been taking my dog there for the past 6yrs and I went there recently to get all his regular shots. I was charged for services the previous owners where doing complementary to customers. Not only that, I was asked if they could perform a lyme disease test on him but also went ahead and gave him the shot even though he was negative to the disease, they also charged me for cleaning his ears. Overall all they want is MONEY

I dont normally write reviews but after my interaction I felt it was necessary: The original veterinarian retired. He was a great guy and his staff was friendly. The new owner/vet is fine but I dont care for the new way of doing things. The front staff is often pleasant but the new staff member Monica is quite rude and makes it clear that she is annoyed with customers asking questions. Basic phone etiquette is lacking and for me CUSTOMER SERVICE is major.Of course a Vet cannot be chosen based off of the front office staff alone but this along w/ the downhill experience, its not the place for us.

They were absolutely amazing!!! Very attentive...very informative! The doctor and staff took time to talk me through my first experience with my puppy, the different vaccines, and how to feed and care for him properly. There was no wait time. Very friendly!
