I have one dog (5 months at the time of this review) and two cats and I LOOOOVE this place! I have had Banfield Pet insurance (which is fantastic, but a whole different review) for my cats going back several years and until about a year ago, we always had to go to a Banfield clinic inside of a Pet Smart. The care we received there was perfectly fine, but the environment in there was a little chaotic for the cats. Here, at this stand-alone Banfield Pet Clinic in Ellicott City, the scene is serene! Its big and shiny and new and clean. They even have a little play area for kids to "play vet" to include lab coats and stethoscopes. The best part about this location, though, has to be the staff. We receive the warmest welcome when we come, everyone is attentive and loving with my animals, but also very expert with the jobs that they do. The doctors are incredibly thorough and approachable, the nurses are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and the staff at the front desk is fantastic. I receive reminder calls before the appointment and follow-up calls checking in afterwards just to see how everyone is doing. They are open 7 days a week and far outside my work hours so that I am able to make routine appointments in the evenings without having to take time off work. When Ive had to call with a sick animal, theyve gotten me in immediately. I hesitate to write such a glowing review as I dont want this place to get too crowded - but I know they could handle it. Besides, I value online reviews so much and its just too great a place not to share.

I recently took my dog to the Banfield Pet Hospital in Ellicott City for a wellness exam. My husband and I recently moved, and were looking to switch to a more conveniently located vet. My dog was finally seen, after a 30 minute wait, and the experience was unbelievable. The doctor and assisting technician spent the entire appointment trying to sell me products and excessive vaccinations for my dog. Then I was informed that my dog needed to have two teeth extracted IMMEDIATELY and it was a life threatening situation. She kept making comments to my dog such as "Im sorry does that hurt? I bet youre in a lot of pain..etc". I was so upset, as my animals are treated better than some humans, and I would NEVER allow them to be in pain or have a condition I could prevent/treat. I was quoted $1700 for this "EMERGENCY" procedure, and essentially chastised for waiting so long, and told to make an appointment post haste. Completely shocked, I went home and my husband and I made the decision to make the 45 minutes trip to our previous vet and have a second opinion. Long story short, there is nothing wrong with my dogs teeth, she is having a routine cleaning next month, and I am appalled that this animal hospital would play the fear and guilt card to make a quick buck. They should be ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES, and I will certainly never return and will inform every animal owner I know of my story and encourage them to seek more reputable care.

Weve used Banfield twice now, both for minor emergencies with our dog. Benfield is what it says: a pet hospital. They are very good, fast and competent. If you have an emergency and need care quickly, youll get good care here. But youll get that service at a price. They are pretty expensive, as compared to the rates your usual vet probably charges. So if there is any way to get your pet into the vet you normally use, definitely try there first. For that reason, I also would not advise using Banfield as your pets primary vet.

The staff is very friendly and attentive!!!!!! The service is great, every time that Ive come, the staff is knowledgeable about my pet. I receive a reminder email/call before my appointment and then afterwards I receive a phone call asking how my pet is doing. The staff also makes recommendations however Ive never felt like I was being pressured into spending extra money or getting certain services done. And my pet is always excited to go in. After my first visit here, I couldnt take my pet anywhere else.

Very polite and caring staff! If we hadnt moved out of the area, I would continue to bring both of our dogs there! The office is always clean and tidy! Dr. Storozuk truly cares about his patients and goes out of his way to fully explain everything and answer every question! I am always thankful that the next day after the office visit the staff always calls to check on our pet to see how they are doing.

We have been working with Dr. Myers for several years now. She used to be at the Arundel Mills location and now she is Chief of Staff in Ellicott City. She really cares about your pets. She gets right there on the floor with them and listens to all your concerns. I have also found the vet techs to be very caring and gentle. I would recommend this Banfield to anyone.
