I usually dont like to complain but I think it would prevent others from having the terrible experience I had. The first time I saw Dr. Hanna I had no problem. Everything went well. This year the issues began. I made an appt & said it was for an annual exam. I also said it when I signed in & when the medical assistant asked. When the Dr. saw me, she asked how I was doing & if I had any problems. I said I’m doing well overall but occasionally I have back pain and a tingling in my throat. She prescribed meds & ordered a blood test. I went in for my blood test & the secretary said theres no need to sign in for it & to just wait. I waited 1 1/2 hours, then I saw the assistant sitting by the secretary talking to her. I waited 5 more minutes then realized she forgot about me. I walked up & said Ive been waiting & she quickly got up to take me in & said "sorry". I did not complain. My dad then received a bill for my visit (hes never been to her). I called his insurance & they said to call my Dr. because they billed the wrong insurance. I called them & got a voicemail. I left a voicemail asking if they could call back & I never received a call. I called back & the secretary said she needed to talk to the Dr. about it & would call me back. She never called back, I had to call her. She said, "Oh yeah, I talked to the Dr. & its not considered an annual because you mentioned your other complaints". I have a lot of patience but now Im upset! She said I should have mentioned to the Dr. that my exam was for an annual. Wouldnt you think that it was relayed by either the receptionist, secretary, or medical assistant that I told-or that it was in my notes? I asked to speak to the Dr. & let her know that I can hold. She said shed have the Dr. call me back. I asked for an idea of how long I should wait for the call & she said about 5 minutes. She never called me. So I called my insurance the next morning & learned that they never billed my insurance. I drove to the office and the secretary said they outsource for billing & it was billing that put the wrong insurance. I asked for contact info for billing & she said she didnt have that info. I also asked for a copy of my personal records (FYI you have to pay for past medical records-I know some offices do that but a good majority dont or have records available electronically - so thats another con). I asked to speak to the Dr. again. The secretary said she was overbooked & that I would have to wait so I said Ill wait. Mind you, this was at 10:30am & her clinic started at noon (I also saw the Dr. walk out of a room). 5 minutes later they told me that Dr. Hanna would not see me because "billing is not her problem". I was not even going to argue my bill but just wanted an idea of where things were miscommunicated. She gave me the # to call for billing questions (which I asked for earlier & she said she didn’t have). Never did I yell, curse, or threaten. I called the # they gave for billing & the woman (who was VERY helpful) said they never gave billing the id# or group# for my insurance & just said it was UHC (so the secretary blamed billing when it was really the offices fault). I’ve never had this type of problem before. Yes Dr. Hanna is nice, but there are plenty other providers who are just as nice AND also have great, attentive staff who communicate well with one another. Communication is important & a lack of it can be detrimental to a patients health. I think as patients, were all deserving of great, efficient care. If you want ok care, then go to this clinic. If you want great overall care however, Id recommend going elsewhere (maybe I was spoiled in having great care before this experience – providers who went out of their way to call me personally with concerns Ive had). Hope this review helps! Part of me also wanted to write this because though Dr. Hanna didn’t want to meet with me, it looks like she has time to respond to these reviews. Im interested to see what reasons she gives regarding all these issues.

Dr. Hanna- Unfortunately, I am unable to respond to your comment on my previous review. That being said, It seems as though I have to reply back using this forum as it is the only way I have received a response within the past week. You mentioned that it is sad that I have taken this publicly. As stated, I never wanted to do that. I have made four separate attempts to contact you both via phone and in person and not once did I receive a response to my question. This was my last resort. It would have taken less of your time to speak to me in one of my previous attempts than hearing from you via an unprofessional response on the internet. Never once did I say that I wanted to speak to you at the front desk. Nor, did I request a change in the billing code. That in itself shows the LACK of communication within your office. What I wanted to speak to you about was why I wasnt informed at the time of my original visit that I was going to be billed for something different than what I had agreed upon with three separate individuals in your office. I understand that it is illegal to change the billing code, which is why I never asked for that. However, it is also illegal (or, at the very least UNETHICAL) to charge my insurance for something I wasnt informed of or agreed to. It is evident that either you did not review my chart prior to seeing me, or your staff did not properly communicate the reason for my visit. Sadly, I am still waiting for an answer as to where the miscommunication occurred throughout this process. You can unprofessionally reply back publicly again; or, you can speak to me privately as I had originally attempted. You should have my contact information from my three previous phone calls or office visit. To those reading these reviews, Dr. Hannas response in itself should show you the unprofessionalism within this office. I am just taken aback by this entire situation because Ive had such great care by other providers in the past. For me, this is not about the money as Dr. Hanna had stated. I am not even sure what (or, if) I have to pay since my insurance was never billed correctly. All I wanted was a response, and I received one - publicly. Very sad. -Krystle
