Every time I have to bring my dog in, which is quite often seeing as he loves to eat things hes not supposed to, theyre the most helpful and caring vets office Ive been to. Even when I had to bring in my old dog, Shadow, and we had to put him down, they made it as painless as possible. They let us be in the room with him, they explained everything that was happening as it happened, and gave us grieving time in the room with him. Since then, my new rescue dog, Milo, has to be seen more often than Id like, but they always explain how much wed be paying as well as what the cheapest and most effective way to treat the problem. He had a stomach problem that an emergency vet suggested surgery for, and we brought him in only to discover it was an ulcer, and could be treated with a proper diet and medicine. Hes a happy pup whenever we bring him, and Im a very happy owner! They never over charge (like my old vet, just a check-up was almost 1000 dollars, freaking ridiculous), and even show you all the payments youre making and for what, so you KNOW youre not being ripped off. I recommend them to everybody I know!

Academy is so awesome, we drive from south Chesapeake to go here! Dr. Chase performed all the exams and surgery on my older dog. I couldnt have been happier with the amount of time Dr. Chase spent answering all my questions and with the quality of care we received. I first heard about Academy from the dog rescue where I adopted my puppy. They spayed my puppy for several hundred $ off what my vet in Chesapeake charges. Fast forward a year and my older dog needed several large fatty tumors removed and my vet quoted me a high price, so of course I called Academy and once again saved hundreds of $. Dr. Chase went over and beyond what I expected. My dog ended up developing a seroma on his largest 10 inch incision after the drain was removed and Dr. Chase didnt charge me anything at the 2 followup appointments (staple replacement, and laser therapy, and the office visit). Everyone I interacted with was professional and friendly. I will continue to drive to Suffolk for fantastic animal care.

Academy Animal Care is THE best. I have taken my cats and dogs to Academy Animal Care since it opened its doors many, many years ago. I have dealt with several sets of doctors and staff throughout the years, and every one of them has been exceptional. Dr. Chase is extraordinary. He saw me through a very rough time with my Siberian Husky several years ago; he performed a surgery on her that would have probably cost ten times the money at a specialist. The follow-up by Dr. Chase and staff was outstanding and the surgery was a success in extending her quality of life. The heartfelt compassion they showed me after she died was appreciated more than I can put in words. Currently, Dr. Ambrosio is working with me and my old lady cat, Tigger; Dr. Ambrosio is incredible too. I can not find enough words to express how fortunate I am to have connected with such a wonderful veterinary practice that throughout the years has consistently been AWESOME!

Academy Animal Care took care of our dogs, cat and even our duck for more than a decade. I cant recommend a vet office any more highly. Even though they changed ownership a few years ago, the level of care remained constant. We cant say enough about the veterinarians and staff. We placed our pets lives in their care and more than once they came through with superb care and quality advice. Highly, highly recommend the services of Academy Animal Care.

I brought my little love bug kitty in to get some sores checked out. I was very pleased with how polite the staff was, and how important they made my pet and I feel. They are a little on the expensive side, however, they do not offer you services that are not necessary for your pet. (In other words, they arent greedy with your money). I was able to call for an appointment, which I received for the next day.

tho, I love bringing my animals here, the Female Veterinarian is quite friendly and knows exactly what she is talking about. My Fiance attempted to volunteer here since she is in the process of getting her DVM and the staff that took part in her on boarding process was ridiculously rude and actually made us decide to find another vet. Its sad when a handful of people can ruin such an amazing place like that.

Zorro, my cat was saved by Dr. Sears and his staff. She had been given up on by another; I called Academy Animal on Friday night @ 6:15 for the first time and they offered to bring her then. Not only was the correct diagnosis determined but also treatment. That was about two plus years ago and she just had her semi-annual check up & doing great! Dr. Sears, thank you and your incredible staff.

Academy Animal Care was the first veterinarian I had ever brought my little pupchild to, & will be the last! Every DVM working there is phenomenal. They are all very knowledgeable in what they do, & never charge for unnecessary services. The entire staff is very cheerful, & my pup never leaves there without having lots of love from them! Wonderful practice, HIGHLY recommended!

We have been taking our two cats to AAC for two years and the staff, from the DVMs to the technical staff, has always been cordial and professional. Even though there are veterinarians nearer to us, our preference is to use AAC for all of our pets health care needs. I saw both Dr. Marsha Councill-Chase and Dr. Chase. I was very stressed about my sick cat over the last 8 months. Every single contact in person and over the phone with every single person from the receptionist to the technician to both Veterinarians was 5 star. Never imagined such a place. I choose to drive 25 miles past numerous veterinarians to go there.

I hope I will never have to take any pet of mine anywhere else. The staff is very well educated and knowledgeable about any and all problems that your little darlings might have. My very nervous dog loves to go there and relates to the staff positively. Except when they have to take his temperature. LOL We will always go back.
