Always had good experiences until a month ago. I love the vet herself but her new person answering phones was so rude. I called because my dog was sick...panting a lot and not wanting to move. The man didnt ask me any questons but said put some ice in his water maybe hes hot. I told him no its not that..my dog was inside in the air conditioner and this was happening in middle of night and morning. Its like he didnt even hear me and said again well just try the ice cubes and after putting me on schedule for 2 weeka later hung up. I called a other vet office and they immediately were concerned..asked me alot of questioms and had me look at my dogs gum color etc. They were able to fit me in over their lunch even tho I had never been there before. However even of they hadnt been able to do so they were insistent I should take my pup tto get looked at that day. Sadly there where was more going on then any of us could tell and way more than my pup left on as he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly later that day...so yeah that ice cube in water tip was really helpful. Im sad because I liked this vet but if front desk person remains I wIll not be back. He was rude, shory, and did not ask any questions . He should not be working at a vet office. I will be taking my other dog elsewhere.

I dont usually post on these sites but I had to after today. I had a 9:00 am appointment for my dogs at the HAAH. When I get there to check in the "gentleman" at the front desk tells me that I only have an appointment for 1 of my dogs. We tried to tell him that we made the appointment for both dogs. He then tells us that he is the one the makes all the appointments and that we didnt make the appointment for our 2nd dog. I tried to reason with him but he wasnt being very cooperative. He tells us that we can either wait and they will squeeze in my 2nd dog or reschedule.. I then told him my dog is licking herself a lot and I would like to have her seen. His response was "well dogs lick" in a very smart tone. Then he tells me he will reschedule my 2nd dogs appointment. I then had it. My girlfriend and I got up and walked out slamming the door behind me. I walked back in after I put the dogs in the car and asked to speak to his boss. He laughingly says sure as if this were some kind of joke. I heard him go back and talk to her and she said she would call me, I decided to wait. After about 40 minutes she says she can see me now. I explain to her what happened and she just basically dismissed me. I will NEVER BE BACK!!!!!

While gererally I love the Vet, shes very knowledgable, very kind, very sympathetic. You can really tell that she loves the animals and they do really love her. Her staff however is another matter. Ive had animals that have passed away, they were euthanized at this facility and a few months later Ill get a reminder that they need shots or their annual visit is due. I called to have one of the Drs call me back, no one calls back. I had a dog with cancer, but could only speak to the specialist on Thursdays when hes in this office. Apparently his phone doesnt work the other 6 days of the week. Ive gotten prescriptions from this office. Sometimes theyre a couple pills short, sometimes theyre a few over. I asked to have a referral form filled out for a diagnosis from another specialist. A week later, still not done. We had pet ducks, one got out of the enclosure and one of the dogs got it. Called to have it seen, "we dont see those kinds of animals". Really??? No one could even look at it???? He died a few hours later. She might be the best vet ever, but the staff makes you feel like youre second rate.

I am not impressed with this vet. Dr Dana Walck. She misdiagnosed my cats condition. She recommended special and very expensive Special Food which I bought. When there was no improvement I got a correct second opinion at Animal Hospital of Rye. Turns out she misdiagnosed my boy completely. He had cancer. No amount of the Special Expensive food was going to cure that. When I called to have him euthanized when he collapsed I got thee absolute worst customer service from this vet. They told me they could not help me. My boy was suffering and in pain. This vet office would not help me at all. I pleaded with them to fit me in for euthanasia to no avail. No compassion. I will never go back and I will never recommend this office or Dr Dana Walck to anyone that loves their pet. I ended up at Rossmoyne Animal Emergency Trauma Center after calling a close friend for a recommendation. They bent over backwards for me. Never Again. I do not recommend her at all. I would rather give this vet a negative 5 than a positive 1.

People are always surprised to hear me say that my dogs love the vet-- but they love this place! Great people work here, and they all seem to love every animal that comes through here. Dr. Walck really went out of her way to help us in an emergency once-- they were about to close, but still helped us when our dopey dog gave himself a terrible knock on the noggin. Many years later, Dr. Walck still remembers all the details from the accident, and absolutely adores this dog (to be fair, hes a really great dog), and Im always amazed at how she remembers each one of my pets even when I come in with a different one. I recommend this office to anyone who will listen. Surprisingly convenient location, ample parking, and a trustworthy staff. I trust her judgement on anything pet related more than anyone else on the planet. Affordable pricing, and this is the place to go to avoid upselling and price gouging. You wont regret coming here!

Took my dog to be neutered. As you are with your first child everything is new. With that being said we had lots of questions, not knowing what to expect and how to assure comfort for our dog after the procedure because he seemed really uncomfortable. When we called with questions the secretary was very rude and acted as if we were bothering him. Instead of compassion and understanding we were made to feel as if we were "bothering them". When the vet finally returned my call I was received with a sharp tone and an unpleasant feeling. She made us question why we even choose her as a vet and in fact stated if we werent happy she would MAIL us our dogs paperwork to go elsewhere. Very convenient after receiving our cash for such a big procedure!!!

I have had nothing but great experiences with this office. The staff are warm and helpful. Dr. Walck helped me make the tough decision for my dog. It was the hardest thing I have ever done but I couldnt imagine having better people by my side through it. My cats are patients there and arent really big fans but the staff really goes out of their way to give your animal time to adjust and calm down before they get down to business. My animals are my babies and I would not want them in the hands of anyone else but Dr. Walck and her staff at Harrisburg Area Animal Hospital.
