I have 2 older cats and had been going to another vet close to home and felt that the doctor was dismissive and not thorough enough. I noticed a change in one of my cats drinking patterns and decided that instead of taking him to the same doctor that maybe it would be time to try someone different. So I did some research and found the Mid Atlantic Cat Hospital and although it was and hour and a half from home, I wanted to give my cats the best so I set an appointment. From my first phone call, I knew this place was special. The office is very cozy and I liked that we could go right into the room and let the cats down to roam and get comfortable. I asked for a full workup for both my cats and they didnt second guess my request. In fact made me feel like what I wanted was standard procedure for cats their age. They provided quick results and a treatment plan to keep my kitties living a happy life. They even took time to show me how to administer treatment. They are also very quick to answer question and concerns and when I emailed Dr. R, she quickly replied. They make the drive worth it and if you want compassion and a thorough vet, this is where you should take your cats.

I cant begin to express my respect and gratitude for MACH, and the tremendous skill and ability of Dr. R. I feel so fortunate to live locally to what I believe is the finest care facility for cats in the nation, hands down. (And I have a happy 20 year-old feline to prove it!) In the ten years Ive been bringing my cats to them, the caring and professional staff at MACH have seen my kitties through cancer, kidney failure, urinary blockages, and literally saved the lives of my precious animals during both chronic and acute health issues, while seeing to it that they have the best quality of life and health. Dr. R. is an outstanding clinician AND surgeon, and I am so profoundly thankful to have access to her top-notch care. Be it a routine check-up or a life-saving operation, I have total confidence placing the lives of my cherished pets in MACHs hands. My cats are very important members of our family, and knowing I have an all-star team working to prolong their lives is a true blessing. Immeasurable gratitude to the fine work MACH does for cats!!

I started taking my feline crew of seven to Dr R about 3 years ago when she hired me as a registered vet tech. I unfortunately no longer work at MACH (I am a stay at home mom now) but I can attest to the extraordinary care that all of the cats receive by Dr R, and all of the staff, behind the scenes. Dr R is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of feline medicine and has gone above and beyond to make sure that all cats get the most up to date medical care possible. Two of my cats lived several years longer than they would have if I had not taken them to MACH because of Dr Rs expertise. The staff takes the time to get to know the clients and their cats. They are the most caring group of individuals I have ever met. Everyone is exceptionally patient, gentle and understanding, even when it comes to the cats who are not so very happy to be there. I can not possibly recommend them any higher and would never take may cats to anyone other than Dr R.

I found MACH because one of our cats had been seriously injured and when I called her regular vet in the middle of a work day the receptionist said they were closing early. They suggested I call MACH or the western shore animal ER. I called MACH and Dr R. who was booked for the afternoon saw our cat after her regular work hours. I was impressed with her care and handling of this situation and transferred all our cats care to her. Dr R upon seeing one of the cats diagnosed tooth problems which after treatment changed the grouchy cat into a much nicer pet.We are quite pleased with Dr R and her staffs professional handling of routine vet care but know that if ever an emergency arises we can count on her prompt and expert judgement. We also board our 19 year old cat there when we go away and he gets great attention and is so comfortable I do not think he misses us!

One of our rescues, Guinness, was about 4 weeks old when I saw someone throw her out of a moving car resulting in a broken hind leg right in the growth plate. She had to have her leg amputated when she was old enough to be able to handle the blood loss from surgery. The surgery was a success, and she is now a highly opinionated 4 year old tortoiseshell that gets around better than most four legged animals. The level of care and wonderful treatment by the whole staff has made it much easier in caring for her especially since she does have the well-documented "tortitude" and can be a little demon! Friendly, caring, considerate and willing to take into account finances, I cannot say thank you enough!

I cant speak highly enough of MACH. My cat Stinky (she doesnt really stink) has been a patient since I first moved to the Shore, and I absolutely love them -- Dr. R., Dawn, and the whole bunch. At first my husband questioned why I didnt just bring Stinky to the same vet our dogs go to, especially since its right down the block. But then he took Stinky for an appointment one day and got to see for himself. When he came home he said "Youre absolutely right -- Dr. R is awesome!" It is truly unparalleled care for cats. I wouldnt bring Stinky (or any future cat) anywhere else!

I live in Annapolis and there are dozens of veterinary hospitals and practices in the area. There is even a cat hospital within walking distance of my home. My three boys are my spoiled rotten babies and I think that the drive across the Bay Bridge to MACH is well worth the time, even if the boys complain the whole time. It is obvious that Dr. R and her staff genuinely care about their patients (and their parents!). I am confident that the boys are receiving the best care possible, and I wish that I could bring my new dog to MACH too!

Would never take my cat anywhere else. I only wish I had a place like this to take all my furry and feathery animals. Unbelievably nice staff and Dr. R treats your cat like it is part of her own furry family. Oh and did I mention she cares about the homeless cats of this world too? Yup, she provides the same top of the line care to my foster kittens and follows through until they find a forever home. Then I convince the adopters to continue using her ;) Keep it up MACH! When I moved to the Eastern Shore in 2001, I thought it would be so hard to replace the Vet I had been going to. Shortly after the move I took my cats to MACH and Dr. R and have been going since. She has helped me through some traumatic times. She, Dawn and the rest of girls treat my cats just like I do. Thats kind of hard to find. To have someone you can completely trust and know that they will do whatever it takes is truly a gift. Thanks so much for all you do for the Cat World!
