I had been using another local vet hospital for 20 years. My dog Bella suffered terribly from chronic ear problems with little help from the vet. I met Dr. Valas husband walking at the state park and he said you should call her - so grateful for that day!! On our very first trip to the family pet hospital, Dr. Valas identified a strain of bacteria that did not respond to typical antibiotics. She treated Bella and for the remaining 3 years of her life had NO ear problems!! I wish Id known about them sooner to save her unnecessary suffering. When she became sick with cancer, they offered the best possible care and were so kind and compassionate when it came to her final days. The team there is phenomenal. They are so on top of everything related to your pets needs. For 4.5 yrs they have treated my mini dachshund and are thrilled to see him when he arrives! Our newest member, Ginger, was adopted a year ago. On her first well check visit, Dr. Warner suggested a blood draw. Dr D called me in to suggest some additional testing and they found her to be heartworm positive. He was so helpful and literally saved her life ~ the treatment was long, arduous and costly but the whole team worked to make it happen! I now have a very healthy, happy and much loved coonhound! I would never go elsewhere!!! Although they have grown in size by leaps and bounds, almost everyone greets and treats you like family. They are so very warm and personable. Ive been going to the Family Pet for several years receiving veterinary care for a multitude of animals - 6 hamsters, 2 gerbils, and a 1 dog to date. I cant say enough about the vets, front desk, vet techs, & beautiful facility here - all-around FANTASTIC! 1) If you have a small animal in need of treatment, YOU NEED TO SEE DR. VALAS! SHE IS AMAZING - incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, kind, loving & sincere. She understands that even though rodents are small in size, they can be big in heart. She treated my hamsters & gerbils for respiratory infections, wart removal, cancerous tumors, even stroke - all with exceptional diagnosis & care. 2) My dog Sid gets the best treatment from all the staff & vets with great canine & human bedside manner. Dr. Duckett was also very responsive to questions I had regarding flea & tick treatment. Sid LOVES boarding & doggy daycare here too with very personal care & updates. 3) CONCLUSION: Like Sid, who always runs into the doors in anticipation of doggy playtime & loving care, run dont walk to the Family Pet where everyone treats you & your pets like Family. Amazing! Everybody there cares so much about your animal, like it is their own. The vets take the time to get to know you and your pet. They explain things to you in a way you can understand. They work with you for treatment options. Our 13 year old (stubborn) beagle sometimes does not feel like going into an exam room. Dr. Valas has no problem performing the VOM out in the reception area on LILOs favorite carpet haha. We didnt think LILO would still be with us today but thanks to the Family Pet Hospital, Dr. Valas and the entire staff, LILO is now walking better, enjoying the fresh air in her ears, shoving her head in her toy box...all things she has done since she was a puppy. I cannot say enough good words about them. Highly recommended.

Our first visit to Family Pet was last fall for a dental consult. We saw Dr. Bodkin. She confirmed another vets recommendation for cleaning and extraction, provided an estimate (range) for the service and was able to offer an appointment within the week. The estimate was considerable lower than from the other practice. The procedure went well and the followup from F.P. H. was excellent-phones call updates before the cat came home as well as next day, and the office visit the following week. we recently used the groomer service for nail trims-again, easy to schedule and reasonably priced. I recommended F.P.H. to a neighbor, who was also pleased with the care her kitties received. All staff are friendly and professional. Happy I found them!

5 stars is just not enough - Dr. Vallas is exactly who weve been searching for: shes warm & friendly, is open to non-traditional pet care such as raw food & non chemical/all natural products, takes her time to listen and discuss options carefully, and best of all . . . my girl LOVES her! Staff is lovely, practice is clean and welcoming, my pup prances in the door to say hi instead of freaking out. YAY! When my pup got a vaccine, we were given an info sheet on possible reactions and there was an after hours emergency number for Dr. Vallas. Very, very cool. Practice offers a wellness plan, which is a huge money saver. At my last visit, I asked for Heartgard and was offered a generic, which again saved me so much $. :-D

Family Pet has provided care to three of our dogs. The entire staff is excellent, professional and very knowledgeable. The new expanded facility is fantastic as well. Dr. Valas has done a terrific job of growing this practice without turning it into an impersonal factory where your pet is just a number. The staff knows the patients and truly cares about them. When we had to put down our 14 year old dachshund, we were treated with so much respect and dignity. I had never experienced anything like it before. They are also always on the leading edge of what is new in treatments and care. The new grooming service is also outstanding!!

Before Family pet expanded there business it was truly a family absolutely loved going there. After there expansion it was like going into a business not a family. They hired a new male vet that was VERY difficult to work with. The techs are all very nice, helpful and extremely happy to see Thor, 5 Stars for them ! Also it took several phone calls over several weeks to get them to send the bills to our insurance company. We asked that they send them all together at the same but of course they sent then apparently when ever they felt like it in drips and drabs. Wish things would go back to the way they where.

The Family Pet Hospital is the greatest hospital. Ive had to become familiar with all of the doctors due to the different pets we have. When our Guinea pig and min-pin had surgery on the same day both were fully attended to by multiple doctors and staff. I knew they were in great hands. Everyone from the staff at the desk to Dr. Valas herself, have always made all of feel like a part of their family! They have gotten us through the roughest parts of our lives, the death of a beloved pet, to brand new beginnings, welcoming new members to our family. Thank you for always being there for us!

I took my sweet Wheaten Terrier to The Family Pet Hospital. She is having terrible allergy issues, along with infections in her ears. We had been going somewhere in Westborough, but she was not responding well to the care they recommended. I swear to you, within 24 hours, I could already see a marked improvement in my puppy with the diagnosis and recommended treatment by Dr. Valas! She is so much more comfortable and happy. I am grateful to Dr. Valas for her focused attention on me and my puppy while we are there. Her demeanor and skill are top notch.
