After reading some of the reviews on here, I decided that I really needed to write my own and explain the experience that I have had with Nashua Pet Care Clinic and Dr. Phenix. My fiancé and I had to take my chameleon, Merlin, to their clinic because his eyes were bulging out. I have always thought of my pets as my family and was extremely upset because he was so sick. Dr. Phenix and his staff were completely helpful and very very caring. I cannot explain how comforting they were. Dr. Phenix explained to us that the bulging was being caused by a cyst. He did laser surgery twice on Merlin, gave him medication, gave us information on how to get his strength back, etc. Merlin recovered well after visiting with Dr.Phenix. I continued to see Dr.Phenix for checkups and if I ever had problem with anything. Every time that I was there I was treated like family. I was always greeted and after leaving I always felt that Merlin was in the best of care. Last week Merlin stopped eating and moving around. I took him into Dr. Phenix and faced the hard news that Merlin had to be put down. Dr. Phenix gave me two choices in that moment. He said that I could put Merlin down or I could give Merlin to him. He said that that way he would be taken care of and if he got better then he wouldn’t have any room for him, so he would have to be given back to us. Dr. Phenix told us that there was only about a 4%-5% chance that Merlin would make it but he would try his best. I don’t know many vets or people for that matter that would do something like this for someone. I just couldn’t believe it. After talking with my fiancé we decided that we didn’t want to put Merlin through anything else with such a small chance to make it. Dr. Phenix did an autopsy afterwards and told us that Merlin had a bad heart, liver, and colon. There would have been nothing that he could have done. After everything that we went through there with Merlin, it just proved to me that Dr.Phenix and his team are amazing people. They truly care about you and your animals. I have read a lot of reviews on Nashua Pet Care Clinic and was surprised by all of the complaints about how much money they charge. I have always thought of my animals as family as I mentioned before and have come to understand that animals are expensive. I found their prices to be reasonable for everything that they did and they did a lot for Merlin. When Merlin had his laser surgery I thought that it was going to be extremely expensive; it in fact turned out to be way cheaper. They even take CareCredit if you can’t pay out of pocket and will help you get the card right there in their office. They are a busy office and I have learned that that is because of the care they offer. Merlin was like my child to me and for me I would have spent my last penny on anything that would help him. So I guess what I’m trying to say here is that yes vet bills are expensive, just like any other doctor bill that you would pay, but I found here to be reasonable in my opinion and it to be the best place that would make sure Merlin was taken care of. I could never express or explain everything that we went through and how amazing they really were to us. I owe a lot to Dr. Phenix and his staff for the amazing care and comfort that they gave to Merlin and to us.

Ive taken all my pets to Dr.Shanks office. Her and her staff are amazing! They are incredibly reasonable with pricing, Dr.Shank is one of the few vets in the area that sees exotic "pocket" pets like guinea pigs, reptiles, etc. Her and her staff have been incredibly helpful with my past five guinea pigs that Ive adopted that have since passed from various health/age related issues and has done everything we possibly could have to make my pets comfortable. She even puts up with my cat who is an absolute nightmare for vet visits ;) Ill continue to take my pets to her for many years to come, even now since Ive moved a half hour away!

I bring my two cats here and dog. I love it. Recently i had to bring my 12 year old guinea pig in to be put down. It was the worst thing i have ever done. Everyone treated me and my husband so well. They caref for us as well as my little baby. I will continue to go here with any animal i adopt. Thank you to the dr the tech and receptionist for making me feel better about everything. Words cant explain how much it helped

A++++ Everytime I go, my dog is well taken care, and always greeted with a smile. This Vet has gone over and beyond for my pets and I cannot thank them enough. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Dr. Shank is such a patient and caring person, as well as the entire staff. Truly a great and caring facility. I will recommened them to anyone who is looking for a Vet that truly cares for animals.

Dr Shank is compassionate and passionate about what she does. I have rats, and not many vets in this area or the Boston area see them let alone care for them and love them like Dr Shank. Services are affordable and the entire office staff is friendly and have been a pleasure to see during regular visits with my rat pack to treat rat lice.

Brought my guinea pig in, vets were very nice and understanding. Prices fair and I was only charged for services performed and nothing extra. Unfortunately he was not going to make it, but the staff was very comforting and handled it very well. The staff cares about your pets as much as you do.

My Jack Russell is a nervous little guy and he is terrified to go to the VET Hospital. Dr Shank was so patient and kind - she didnt force or rush him through. She carefully watched and waited for a chance to give him a shot. She made every effort to be gentle. Thank you !

They are really good with my nervous dog. They dont try to be salesmen, and give you money-saving advice by telling you other places you could find products for your animals. Reasonable prices.

Care was excellent, staff was pleasant, but way too many unnecessary, unexpected charges and overcharges every visit. We had to switch vets to try and find someone more reasonable.
