Brought our dog in for grooming April 18th 2015. He left with cuts on his scrotum, an ear infection and an infected whisker. The vet said that it is due to the grooming and likely the equipment was not sterilized. Now our poor dog will be in a collar for 7 days and is on steroids, antibiotics, antihistamines and painkillers for 10 days. They must have known about the scrotum and the ears and they said nothing when we picked him up. A nick here and there can happen, but infections due to bacteria on the grooming equipment and poor sanitation? Im sorry but that is unacceptable and poor management. We called to complain, but what can they do now? Money will not compensate for my dogs suffering. I suppose they should pay his medical bills (500 dollars) but we are so furious I cant even talk to them. Update! We just spoke to the center manager Liz who suggests that unless the vet can conclusively confirm that our Dog was injured at her facility by her groomer she cannot do anything. When we told her that we thought that this defies logic, she told us to call the corporate office and she literally hung up on us while we were speaking. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. This is not your friendly local dog grooming company that cares about dogs.

Best Friends Pet Care, Im very comfortable leaving my wonderful dog in the care of Best Friends and they see to all her needs. Please remember our dog is part of our family and they make her feel part of their family when she stays with them. The staff is very friendly and welcoming to us and mostly our dog, as most dog owners your dog means a lot to you and they are spoiled so you want the best people taking care of your family member, well they do. When we arrive Cleo cant wait to greet the staff at the desk and see what they are doing behind the desk-they have hugs and pats for her. The groomers are great, we have tried several groomer and Cleo wasnt always happy with them but at Best Friends she loves the groomer (believe me I know the groomer has her hands filled with Cleo-but she is the only one that Cleo will let her groomer her). Remember if you pet is happy and taken care you can rest and enjoy yourself on holiday or business trips. Because when you pick them up, you know that you found some place that will take care of your animal. I like the information they give you about your animal while visiting/staying there-it helps to know they are watching out for her.

This boarding place took my dogs knowing that they had a kennel cough outbreak and then lied to me about posting a sign about this at the front desk. My dogs very sick, and when I called the "interim" manager about this, she told me there were signs posted and started quoting me the terms of our contract--unbelievable! Neither my wife and I saw any sign, nor were we given any verbal warning about a kennel cough outbreak from the front desk staff. On the last day of boarding, they sent me an email saying everything was great with my dog, but the next day he is sounding like hes about to cough up a lung. We had got the optional insurance and was told this did not apply to airborne illness. They expressed no concern to resolve a problem that COULD LITERALLY KILL your dog, AN OUTBREAK THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF based on the managers own statements! BOARD AT YOUR OWN RISK AT THIS KENNEL!

Being a resident around both Best Friends of Sudbury, and Best Friends of Boxford MA I take my dogs to them frequently... And I must say, I have never dealt with a more pleasurable group of people! They take their time to learn the personalities of my dogs (both very different) and have made sure they both have the BEST possible time during their trips to daycamp... From our very timid rescue, to our hyper boxer they impress each and every time with the personalized experience we get, and more so with their GENUINE care for the dogs. It is extremely comforting to know my dogs are being cared for by such a wonderful group of people! Thank you x1000000 to Best Friends Sudbury MA + Best Friends Boxford MA!!!!

I have been bringing my rescue here for almost 2 years- he loves going, doesnt love leaving which makes me happy, its a great sign hes loved! As a participant in rescue missions all over the country I see and know how dogs react to the worst situations- if you want a place where your dog is loved, played with and you can feel like he/she is on the best of hands!! I have read a lot of the other reviews and sometimes I do question the integrity of these people hands as a dog lover, it is very easy to blame something on grooming or overnight stays (that you would have missed as a dog owner and are looking for handouts and money) so be very cautious about what you read!!!

I have used Best Friends to board my cat twice recently, each time for more than a week. Although the princess has not given me much information, she appeared happy with no signs of anxiety when she got home. I think she probably liked the 2-story kitty condo. Each time, I brought something of mine (to keep her company), as well as some of her toys and treats to make her more at ease. Best Friends groomer also manages to clip all her nails in a matter of seconds! AND, very important, in a place that obviously caters to animals,. there is never an odor - a good sign that they have great ventilation and speaks volumes about cleanliness for pets and employees.

I brought my dog to this kenell a few months ago and they left him in his cage the entire time I was gone for five days because he snarled at one of the girls. Instead of trying to calm him down or try again later they just neglected him and left him in a small cage with his urine and feces for the entire time. When I picked him up he was shaking and his hair was falling out. This place is FAKE. They have this nice front there where everything seems great and it is a nice facility, but some of the staff are just cruel.

Ollie, our little Havanese, loves people but is a tad shy around other dogs, especially bigger dogs (most are bigger). Moreover, we much prefer to leave him with people he knows. Fortunately, several friends like him enough to take him in and care for him when we go away. Best Friends is the only commercial place we ever board him. We feel good about their obvious affection for him and kindness to him. We love the people at Best Friends, and so does Ollie. BF is our "hole card" for unplanned getaways.

Not good for cat boarding, cat accommodation very small (like a large fish tank with selves) All cats are cramped together in a small space so if your cat is scared of other cats or gets nervous its definitely not the place to leave it! No cat games in the cats personal space, only on the kitty floor outside so if your cat is a nervous cat it wont be freed to play in the common area... The staff are mostly teenagers that are scared of a nervous cats... Not recommended for cats!!
