Hello all, I am writing this in regards to my current stay at the Kindred Hospital( Brighton). On May 16th I was informed by M.G.H. that I was going to need roughly 6 more weeks of L.A.T.C. treatment at one of the facilities that they had provided me with(Kindred was not one of them)which were either Tewksbury Hospital and the Shattuck Hospital. I informed them that I would like to think about it for a min, the staff at M.G.H. grew impatient with me as I did not want to go to either of those, they again told me that those were the only two places available. I did a quick google search and to my surprise I found the Kindred Hospital in Brighton, MA. I informed the M.G.H. staff that I Would like to go to the Kindred, They tried to talk me out of it but I had my mind set(Due to the reviews I read nothing was stopping me from coming here). So enough about me. The admin. staff upon arrival were extremely friendly and it was as if they were happy to see me as they anticipated my arrival. After getting signed in I was brought upstairs to my room where I met the nursing staff who I must say are second to none! They are absolutely professional, extremely knowledgeable, super friendly and legitimately caring. That leaves me with the kitchen staff who to my surprise are caring, understanding and are willing to cater to any of your dietary needs without question. I must say that I am absolutely loving my stay at the Kindred and feel lucky that I didnt make the mistake of checking myself into a prison...IE: Tewksbury Hospital or the Shattuck Hospital. The care that I am receiving is the absolute best, The Nurses are all unique in their own ways and every single one of them go above and beyond what they need to do. I feel like they are my friends, they are good people. If you have any issues that cant be resolved all you have to do is go see Gail and she will make it happen. I Highly recommend that if you are in need of L.A.T.C care then this is the place for you, you will not be let down. Benjamin M Haskins

This is my second stay at the Brighton Kindred. They literally brought me back to life 3 years ago and although I work in the industry & grew up in the industry (my family ran the Soldiers Home for 60 years) and had offers for some "swanky" SNIFs, I knew your facility was the place to go. Older furniture and wallpaper do not matter. The nursing is top notch; Courtney, April, Sarah, Lucia-all of my 3rd floor team understand the importance of compassionate "bed-side nursing", something that is becoming increasingly lost on new nurses-ready to jump into the next thing. The therapists were so dedicated. I worked primarily with Sean-wonderful guy! and Brie. Bries empathy & strength-for me to push ahead was so sincere-she is a really amazing part of the team. A staff member named Gail was unbelievably helpful with day to day things. The social workers were extremely conscientious-always following up. The front-line office & reception staff are so respectful and professional-learning all patients names right away. To top it off- the food was great-VERY hard to do. Tina and Reg were consistently following up to make sure that all was well. I only mentioned the names that I can remember, but kudos to the whole staff; from a truly wonderful Dr. Pant.... to the Leo in the pharmacy.....to the housekeepers. I currently work for a Genesis facility- your staff went above & beyond. And I know the difference. Thank you again for making an extremely difficult time-so much better!

As the daughter of a lung transplant patient my expectations are higher than most, Especially in regard to patient care. I was hesitant to trust the after being told Spaulding rehab was also an option. From my first phone call to my Dad, I was reassured that he was in great hands! His spirits were higher than they had been in the 5 months he spent as an inpatient. Everyone takes pride in their job, interacts with him on a personal level and is sure to check on his needs often. I had the pleasure of meeting most if his care team and was highly impressed with how much of themselves they put into even the smallest of tasks! I am beyond pleased at the choice to send him to Kindred and know he will be cared for in the best way possible until his discharge! There is something to be said for a facility where everyone, from the front door, to the kitchen, the housekeeping staff to the doctors and everyone in between knows their patients...but their families as well! Two thumbs up kindred!! Saying Thank you is no where enough!!

The nurses document they performed diabetic foot care, however my mothers feet became necrotic. They failed to provide proper care for her feet discharged my mother to a SNF, hours upon discharge her leg was amputated due to poor care from Kendred in Comm Ave. Livanta also is going in to reeducate the facility for neglecting to give my mother appeal rights and zero documentation from the social workers. Livanta also mentions not all documentation was provided, pages were missing. Unfortunately I onlybspoke with staff, please keep an eye on your loved one and do full body assessments due to the poor care provided. Make sure to get 48 hour Medicare notice as they did not give it to my mother.

My 46-year-old son arrived at Kindred in late October 2014 and was discharged in early December. Upon arrival via an ambulance plane from a hospital in Florida, he was very, very sick. We did not know if he would make it. With dedicated care the improvement he made while at Kindred was amazing. I cannot say enough about the wonderful treatment he received at Kindred. All of the staff were kind, attentive, and communicative. The care from physicians, the nursing staff, and respiratory specialists was of the highest caliber. We are extremely grateful to Kindred Hospital Boston.

Unfortunately Kindered did not live up to our expectations. The rehabilitation was infrequent and arbitrary. The call bell was not answered promptly and my family member waited with soiled diapers. I was expecting a team who was focused on rehabilitation in everything they did. Instead most of the team members was rushed and did not have time for the patient to participate in the activity. The physical building was dreary and did nothing to uplift the spirit. Luckily there were staff members who were exceptional in their approach to the patient, full of empathy and care.

I found the nurses, aids and other people at Kindred very kind and caring. My sister came here with a severe head injury. Not only did they treat her with kindness and compassion, they checked in on her kids when they would come visit after school. People were always asking them if they could get them something to eat or drink. One person even got pizza for my nephew because she was afraid he would be sitting with his mother and not bothering to eat. I dont think I was ever at a hospital where everyone was this nice before.

My best friends husband was in your facility, and your staff took amazing care of him. She said the nurses, therapists, and everyone that she contacted were always so nice and helpful. She told me to make sure to let you know that she would highly recommend this facility to anyone that might need this type of care. Shes not really a computer person, so she asked that I say thank you to everyone at Kindred Hospital.
