I went to Concord Carlisle with a dental emergency, and asked if they were part of the PPO Network for Delta Dental. The woman I spoke to said they took my insurance and not to worry. Months later, I found that they were NOT part of the PPO network, and that I was billed for nearly one thousand dollars of care that I would never have agreed to had I known this beforehand. I called back to complain, and spoke to a woman named Bonnie, who assured me that it was all a mistake, that they were part of the network and that she would straighten it out with the insurance company. She called back a few days later to tell me that she was wrong - that theyre not part of the network. She apologized, and said she would have the dentist call me. A week later I was contacted by someone else, a woman named Barbara, who informed me that Bonnie didnt know what she was talking about. Barbara, it turns out, was the woman whod admitted me in the first place. After 10min of circular discussion, in which she repeatedly told me that they DO accept Delta Dental, she finally admitted that she had NO IDEA what networks they were a part of! Why couldnt she have told me this in the first place? A simple "youll have to check with your provider" would have been more than adequate, but instead I got a misleading answer that "we take Delta Dental, but we dont know the specifics of your plan." I know the specifics of the plan. What I dont know is whether or not theyre part of the plan in the first place. I pressed, asking her why she hadnt been willing to just say "I dont know", she refused to admit any wrongdoing and told me Id be paying the money and that the conversation was over. When I asked to have a payment plan set up and sent to me, she needed to take down my address - god knows why didnt have it already. As someone with a dental emergency, I feel completely exploited by their unwillingness to clearly answer my questions at the time, or to admit to a lack of information on their part. They have random people handling billing questions, and then being contradicted by other people. Even giving them the benefit of the doubt, and assuming only good intentions, this smacks of complete administrative incompetence, and terrible customer service. A shame, too, since Dr. Bjornson is an excellent dentist. I will never go back here, and I caution against anyone else doing so in the future.

I rarely write reviews but felt compelled on this occasion. I have had a lot of work done in my mouth during my adult years (I am 51). One would think I would be a little less phobic by now but such is not the case. I have had several root canals done in the last year. One was giving me trouble but my endodontist said "that happens sometimes" and that the tooth looked OK and not to worry about it.I was visiting a friend of mine in Boston and she suggested that I see her dentist, who is "a brilliant diagnostic guy" and is great with "nervous types" like me. Dr. Bjornson was good enough to fit me in and then they could not have been nicer! They put me completely at ease and then Dr. Tom took the time to explain the xray he took. It turned out I had a fracture and it was very clear on his xray film (it had not been on those of my own endodontist). I was not thrilled with the news but was blown away that he found it and then made a call so that I could see his colleague (an endodontist) for a second opinion that afternoon!!! THough it sounds crazy since I live in Connecticut, I am strongly considering having all my dental work done in Concord now! -D. Cerrone

I have had every form of dental technology practiced in my mouth including 2 that were written up in journals. The competence has varied from pathetic to " I take my hat off ". Ive had the methodology explained in great detail by several expert practitioners in periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics and oral surgery to the point where I can assess the dentists capability after one session. Im happy to report that Dr. Bjornson is well up in the list. He was obviously able to assimilate what he learned in school and hone his skill with practice.

I have known Dr. Bjornson for a number of years and always found his patience, good nature and attention to minute detail to be second to none. He is responsive to sensitive needs, critically demanding when necessary, yet easy going in personal contact. I would recommend his services to anyone, particularly the dentally challenged. Comes with a reassuring chairside attitude.

Dr. Tom Bjornson is a great dentist. I made the mistake of not going to a dentist for a number of years after my childhood dentist retired. Dr. Tom worked with me and my insurance to come up with a plan that was affordable and brought my mouth and teeth back to good health. I am very thankful to have found a dentist that cares so much about his patients.

I have always been very anxious about going to the dentist until I started going to Dr. Tom. He takes the time to get to know his patients, he is a perfectionist, and I look forward to seeing him, Chester and the office staff. I enthusiastically recommend him, especially to people like me who are a little nervous about dentist visits.
