This place is really great! I was a little skeptical after reading so many negative reviews of other Banfield locations, but my old vets prices were astronomical and scheduling appointments took forever, so I decided to give them a try. Im glad I did! The staff at the Newton location are friendly and helpful. Both the vet and vet tech were easy-going and it was a stress-free visit for my dog (and me!). We saw Dr. Wright, who is great and knows his stuff. My dog is 4 years old and weve switched vets a few times since we move a lot, but I always make sure she gets an annual wellness exam and vaccines. That being said, none of the vets who have seen her in the past few years have ever diagnosed her with luxating patella. Dr. Wright said she has mild/moderate luxating patella in both of her back knees, which would explain the funny gait she has sometimes. I was shocked that no other vet had ever brought this up to me before since he was able to notice it right away when examining her hind legs. Im really glad he did, because now I can start my dog on a joint supplement and stay on top of the condition while shes still young. Everything was explained in no-nonsense terms and I wasnt pushed to purchase any unnecessary services or products. Ill definitely be sticking with this place as my dogs regular vet!

The Newton location for this veterinary hospital chain located in PetSmart stores is excellent (unlike the Everett or Somerville location that are understaffed, more on that at the end of this review). Newton Banfield provided an appointment for a feline dental procedure requiring anesthesia that had been cancelled at another location. The hospital explained the pre and post op care they would conduct that is essential to successful anesthesia (blood work, IV, entubation & dedicated staff to monitor vitals). Afterwards Dr. Wright explained what he had found during the procedure and what lab results showed. His visual exam confirmed a successful recovery from a previous operation and saved us money by not needing to order more radiographs this time. The entire staff was great and worth the drive over from Somerville. The previous week the CAMBRIDGE-Banfield location cancelled our cats scheduled/confirmed operation AFTER I dropped our cat off at the hospital at 7:45 AM and was back home. It turned out sufficient staff did not show up at Cambridge to do surgery that day.NEWTON-Banfield is well staffed in numbers and capabilities so appointments (I am on the wellness plan) are promptly scheduled and great care is provided.

I love the way they treat my dog ! They did an excellent job... they offer all the option and everything on services for me and my pet to feel comfortable with her consultation! Love to bring her there! and I will take her to this specific location! Amazing staff !!! (Love Lola)
