I am one of the nurse managers here at DenMar. My father was recently admitted for end of life hospice care. I had a lot of apprehension as there were some personal family issues involved in his care. The staff handled everything with kindness and dignity. They cared for my father and my family without hesitation. When I was here with my father I was a family member first. It was comforting to know that he was treated with dignity and respect even when I wasnt present. It was a positive experience to have seen what it is like to be a family member. During my fathers last days my sister and I stayed by his side. We were made to feel welcome by all the CNAs and nurses no matter what the hour. We were offered nourishment when needed. We were given comfort when needed. Of course I would recommend DenMar but not just because I work here but because I know from first hand experience the care that is rendered to all who pass in and out of the Denmar family.

I recently had a loved one spend the last part of his life at Den-Mar. I am so appreciative that the management and staff went above and beyond to make a very difficult time more bearable. Most importantly - they made my father feel at home and made him as comfortable as possible managing his pain. They provided a space and refreshments for a dying man to gather with his big Italian family and reminisce. That also showed me that they were considerate of the rest of their residents as we are not so quiet. The staff was incredibly kind. They were caring when he and we needed it and they gave us privacy when that is all we needed. His last couple of days will forever be a difficult time in my memory. I am thankful that they made it better in any way they could.

My family and I have resided in Rockport for the past 20 years, and we have gotten to know the people and the facilities at Den-Mar quite well. It is a very open, welcoming and caring facility. When my mother needed long term residential care, Den-Mar is the place that we chose. The Den-Mar team were extraordinarily responsive in arranging for a timely and appropriate placement and program of care for my mother, and provided her with high quality care during her stay. They also treated her with with honor and respect, notwithstanding her advanced state of dementia, and always welcomed and supported our visits and time with her, at any hour of any day.

My mom, afflicted with Alzheimers dementia, has received the utmost care at Den-Mar, where she has called "home" for nearly 7 years. As a frequent visitor, Ive seen the care & kindness shared by this Kindred family. Everyone--- from the professional Nursing & Rehab. teams, Administrative & Social Services staff, Activities & Volunteer Services, to all the dedicated Resident Aides, right down to the kitchen & custodial staff---has shown concern & compassion in caring for my mother. In one of my more recent visits, when asked how she was feeling, my mom simply said, "Happy & safe." Her expression of contentment speaks volumes to me.

Im an attorney with a concentration in elder law. Over the years, many of my clients have been residents of Den Mar. They have received loving, competent care from this great facility! While the building is small, all the staff treat those in their care as if they were their family members. While no one goes through life hoping to spend their latter years in a skilled nursing center, this facility is as close to home as the staff can make it. My father has been at Den-Mar for a few months now and is getting excellent care. The staff is caring, compassionate and takes time to talk with him and get to know him. It is a real family atmosphere with the most wonderful staff who genuinely care about the clients. Thank you Den-Mar for taking such good care of my Dad.
