Look out for your wallet! Let me put out my three summary sentences first. I requested a regular cleaning and they did a periodontal maintenance without informing me first what treatment I was about to receive and how much they would charge me. Then they charged me $50 deductible, which they should not charge. It took me another 20 minutes to call insurance and show them the website before they voided the charge and my payment. My conclusion, dont use this dentistry anymore. Details: I have been already on UM dental plan option2 for many many years. I called for a regular teeth cleaning this morning and they told me there would be a slot available 3pm this afternoon. So I took it. Before the cleaning started, none came to inform me what treatment I would receive today. So I assume it would be just regular teeth cleaning. Then I did receive treatments that I felt very routine and regular teeth cleaning. It took no more than half hour for the whole treatment. Then when Ichecked out, I was told it was not regular cleaning, it was periodontal maintenance and I should pay $50 deductible. I was surprised because my dental plan requires no deductible for such Treatment. They insisted I should pay deductible and I paid. I asked why nobody informed me first this was not regular cleaning, but they cannot give any answer. Then parking lot I called insurance and was directed to UM benefit website for dental plan, on which it is clearly written that periodontal maintenance is exempted from yearly deductible. I went in the clinic again and showed them the website. In one minute they voided the payment. Do they actually know this regulation or not? I have no idea. But I think this clearly shows their financial service is way below averaged and so greedy. I dislike such dishonest behavior. I will not use this clinic any more.

Not happy at all! As a first time client I was looking for a cleaning, x-rays and treatment plan to begin maintenance care and preventative treatment for my teeth. Although the receptionist was pleasant and I enjoyed the atmosphere, I was less than happy with the dentist and his assistant. The assistant felt new and she was more concerned with how much my boots cost than she was with the kind of treatment I was seeking and kept trying to sell me a "floride" treatment for $25 although they already told me they werent going to clean my teeth because I needed a "deep cleaning". And the dentist was even worse, he never asked me what I wanted or what type of care I was seeking. He simply gave me x-rays and a brief exam of my mouth and told me I needed over $4K of work done including partials and a root canal. Please! I regularly brush and take care of my teeth, and after getting all of my wisdom teeth pulled at the same time, I elected to have "one" top back tooth pulled as well when it became infected from the wisdom tooth, so I dont believe that qualifies for a partial. Does it? The receptionist couldnt give me an "true" estimate of the cost of work they recommended so they gave me an estimate of an estimate until they get the actual costs after my insurance coverage. All-in-all, I think this location is only after your money and whatever you qualify for under your dental insurance they will make sure that it is included in your dental plan whether you actually need it or not... If it had not been for the receptionist and her kind demeanor I would have given this place a "Hated It" rating.

I went to the Great Expressions in Ann Arbor, MI as they were the only local place that takes my insurance. From now on I will either have to go out of town or just pay for my dental care out of pocket, because nothing could ever get me back to this place. Heres my list: 1. Filthy. The place was disgusting, all of its fixtures were ancient and the walls and floors were just grubby as though theyd never been cleaned. 2. Rude dental assistants. They sat in the room and chatted with each other like I wasnt even there. The chairs are set up so that the dentist/dental assistants are behind you, so I stared at the wall and listened to them complain about how terrible the X-Ray machine was and how they wished they could get a new one. You know, that thing that was just beaming radiation into my face? When she was ready to do my cleaning, one of the assistants just started putting my chair down without saying anything to me. 3. Outdated equipment. I cant say the assistants were wrong in their assessment of the X-Ray. 4. Unfriendly as heck dentist. I dont know, hes putting his fingers in my mouth, cant he be nice to me, too? But no. He also treated me as though I was very stupid. Speaking of putting fingers in my mouth, he would constantly touch other stuff around the room(the filthy dirty room) and then just continue examining me. Avoid at all costs. It seriously ruined my whole week, going there. And I know Im not alone in my experience- I had a friend go the same week and she had all the same problems.

I have been visiting this location for over 5 years. I started coming because it was linked with my insurance plan, and while my insurance plan has changes over the years, I have continue to go because I like the staff at this location. I especially like my hygienist, who I have been with since the beginning. I also find my dentist and the front office staff very knowledgeable and friendly. The dentist remembered some personal information about me, which I know was not in my chart, and the front office staff member greeted me by name. (I only go in once every 6 months). My only negative comment about this location is the facility looks dated. Also, they will try to up sell you on products and services not covered by your insurance. However they are not pushy and I assume this push is coming more from the corporate Great Expressions office, than the local Ann Arbor dentist office.

I went to Great Expression because I am new at Ann Arbor. I had lost a temporary filling and I just needed a temporary replacement. They gave me an appointment for 8:30 am, I got there on time, but they told that I have to come back at 9:25/9:30 because the dentist was not there. I was back at 9:30 and they told me that I have to wait 15 minutes, when I asked if there was any chance of more delays since I was missing my work day, they did not take that very well. It was not 15 minutes, they called me a few minutes after 10 am, I thought that was finally the end but instead, after checking my situation for 5 minutes they left waiting sitting at the patient chair for 1 hour!. They finally came at sometime after 11 am and they put some temporary filling on the tooth and they charged me $200. I left the place a few minutes before 11:30 am. I am not coming back for the crown.

I LOVE THIS DENTIST OFFICE!!!!! I unfortunately have spent most of my adult life in and out of different dentist offices, and switching constantly because of poor quality or terrible customer care. This dentist office is completely different than any other I have been to. From Cat, Katie, and Lisa at the front desk remembering exactly who I am when I walk in the door and checking me in immediately to Jazmine, the dental assistant, who took excellent care of me while I had my teeth basically rebuilt. Dr.Khan was great, taking extra time to explain things to me and even squeezing me in, when it was nearly impossible, just for me to have my teeth perfect for a event I had. He even calmed my nerves through this whole long process by giving me a way to reach him in case I needed something after hours. Great office as a whole.... I will never go somewhere new again!!!!
