I had an ingrown toe nail on my right foot and a red spot on my smaller left toe so we decided to try out great lakes foot and ankle inside the bay view medical building, everything seemed good until I actually got into the room with Laura M. LaMar which quickly put some gloves on, looked at the two toes for a few seconds and then proceeded to tell me that both of them needed to be worked on because both had ingrown toe nail. I obviously then asked her why the left one needed to be worked on because it was only a little red and I saw no infection or cut to cause work being done, and the only responses that she could give me was "I just know" and "we dont have to do the procedure if you dont want" so she quickly got the paper work to sign off on which showed she would be doing the work on both feet by marking where on the chart and a small spot that I had to sign off on it so I again tried to question her as to why this work needed to be done on the left foot because I knew for a fact the right one had to be worked on but I still got the same response so I asked for a minute to think about this and just walked out of the room spoke to her assistant that was very snotty when I said I wouldnt be having work done because she cant even answer a few simple questions and then walked up to the main desk asking if there would be any charge because there was no work done, she said no so I left. I then went to my old one where he laughed when he heard this and told me that I was right about leaving her and that the right foot only needed to be worked on, it has now been a month and my left foot is completely fine and the right one has healed up and now they decide over a month later to send me an extremely high bill even after the fact that I asked if I would be charged and the lady at the desk said no. I will be taking them to court over this situation if needed so my best advice is stay as FAR away from this place as you can to prevent false work being done just for money.

Life Changing....This was my second awful experience in my venture to fix my feet. I saw doctor Hansen who assured me he would make sure I was cared for and did NOT follow through. I went to four different visits with him for bunions on my feet that had caused arthritis and fracturing and was in desperate pain. I am a single mother of 5 and was working a mid night shift in pain every night. I told Dr. Hansen I wanted to prioritize my feet but would like to get through the holidays first since Im all my kids have and have it done right after Christmas. He scheduled my surgery right after the holidays but two days before cancelled saying he wanted me to see pain management even thought Id told him I already looked for pain management and they said they wouldnt see me since I needed a surgery to cure the problem. I made a pain management appointment even though I knew what would happen and that doctor informed me he wouldnt see me because Dr. Hansen was trying to put the responsibility of medicating me on his office when as a surgeon he should rightfully be treating me. By the time I jumped through all his hoops, I lost my job and my insurance and am now in a very bad position, unable to work with my feet rapidly deteriorating. The doctor changed my life for the worse and Im really in a bad spot now needing the state to pay for a surgery that I felt so good about paying for myself with better treatment. I felt this doctor judged me and treated me as if I wasnt able to determine he was wrong for doing this to me. I was treated so disrespectfully by the person he had scheduling my surgery who was nothing but rude even when I was desperately crying for the doctor to change his mind. They werent even respectable enough to admit it when I called them out. Thanks Dr. Hansen!!!!!

My 13 year old son had ingrown toe nails. Surgery had to be done to three sides of the big toes. Dr. Ryan Rogers was the doctor who consulted and completed the procedure. Dr. Rogers was sooooooo kind and patient with our son who was scared. He waited until my son was ready for a shot in each toe. Dr. Rogers didnt hurry him, he was kind, patient with a great personality. After all was said and done our son said how nice Dr. Rogers was and if only all doctors were like him. He further said "I dont think I have ever had a nicer doctor". Thank you Dr. Rogers for your patience with our son. His toes are looking great!!!

Amazing doctors! The staff is friendly and helpful. I bring my whole family here; my son even had an ingrown toenail taken care of at 3 years old by Dr. LaMar. They made him feel comfortable and safe and we had no issues with the procedure or following it. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a podiatrist.

I will never deal with great lakes foot and ankle again. Do yourself a favor and find another foot doctor. Stay as far away from this place as possible.
