I was 25 years old when suddenly I had a giant lump on the left side of my neck. I had no insurance or money for a checkup so I let it go for quite a while. I am friends with a few nurses at botsford and they highly recommended the oncology team. I ended up with Dr. Michael Berkovic who was absolutely wonderful, He not only took care of my cancer pain and complications, but he also always made sure I was overall doing well emotionally and physically. The Nuses in the chemo area are sweet as pie, Remona especially but I loved every one. I hope they pay their MAs very well because never once did any of them miss my port, have a hard time getting blood, or cause me any pain. And even though for the first month I had no insurance, I was NEVER asked for any type of payment up front. They sent me bills, but as soon as my insurance was active they took care of all that too. The social worker Jeri has even been helping me find other kinds of assistance, such as a maid service, massages, gas cards, cash assistance, medicaid, bridge card, just to help offset some of the financial and physical stress those things can cause, especially at 25 years old, trying to work full time, take care of a 2 year old daughter, go through chemo and radiation, and try to have some kind of time for my family. Every employee in that building is absolutely wonderful.

I was Botsford Cancer Center today 1-5-2015 and my experience was a good one with the reception and the lady who did my exam. However, there was a worker who was dressed in pink who made me feel very uncomfortable who worked there...she kept staring at me. I think this is really rude to be a hospital employee and doing such a thing to patients.

I got my first mammogram 2 weeks ago and the staff was very nice and explained everything to the letter. Made you feel very comfortable and at ease. The experience was a good one, and if I HAD to go back to any hospital for testing if needed it would be here.
