Ive been going to them for awhile & they have decent doctors & a mostly friendly staff. I do have a few complaints though about my recent visit in July/2016. First, there was hair & poop on the floor in the room they brought me into & it was right by the chairs. So it obviously hadnt been cleaned in awhile. I actually cleaned some of it up myself. The other problem I had is that they kept me waiting FOREVER after the doctor spoke with me about my cat & went to do a few tests on him. I fig 20-30 min max but it was more like 60 min before i saw another human being. And when youre sitting in a filthy room with no water to drink & nothing to read or do for over 2 hrs, I gotta imagine its like being in jail. I know they were busy right before the holiday but saying the doctor will be with you soon when theyre obviously visiting other patients next door & taking their time is just not honest. So they really need to work on that. They also either need to hire more vets or schedule less ppl at the same time. I will also add that if you use a debit card, they charge you a fairly hefty fee. I had a $300 bill & had to pay $12 extra just for using my card. I dont know anyone who carries around $300 in cash or writes checks anymore but I guess thats what you have to do to avoid it. If they improve all this stuff, I might consider coming back but it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I may just look elsewhere for my next vet visit.

Id give this place zero stars if I could. My fiancé and I have been taking our cat to this location. But will not be continuing to do so after today. In fact we had an appointment just a few weeks ago. With the holidays coming up I remembered that our cat gets really bad motion sickness in the car and we will be traveling. I wanted to help our cat without drugging him or giving him any unnatural products. Online on every list I could find ginger is said to help cats and dogs with motion sickness. Curious I stopped by to ask the vet about it. This is where the downfall of this location is. No I did not have an appointment. But I am a customer. And they treated me like I was a nobody off the street. I politely asked for advice on giving ginger to cats at the front desk. The assistant then went over to the break room where all the staff was in clear view eating lunch. He reiterated my question and the main vet (I assume... with gray facial hair) wiped his face in an obvious youre interrupting me kind of way and blatantly said "No" and nothing else. The assistant asked "Nothing?" And the man shook his head and even though he was in clear view of me didnt even give me eye contact and again stated a stern non emotional "No". Why? I could only assume because answering it had no benefit to him. Like really???? How horrible that they cant give simple advice to a customer. How about you are no longer our vet and we take our business elsewhere.

I wouldnt even give them a star if the review didnt require it. The WORST vet in Holland. We took our dog there for over two years, and thought we were ok in doing so. However, after having his tail docked, he kept developing infection after infection which they treated by simply sending him home with more antibiotics (instead of doing actual bloodwork, or x-rays, or ultrasounds). When he stopped eating for over a week, they said try Pepcid AC. When he developed a fever of over 104 degrees, they sent him home and said to watch him. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I was fed up!!!!! We then took him to Ottawa Animal Hospital where he was diagnosed as septic, and was immediately admitted to the Emergency Clinic in Grand Rapids. Following further treatment at MSU, it was discovered that he had cancer and needed to be put down. However, I know without a doubt, that we could have had a few more months with our dog had it not been for the lack of care and concern by the veterinarians at Mapleview Animal Hospital. Trust me in knowing that this is NOT the place for your loved, fur baby.

I took my dog here and the service was terrible Dr. Bader mis diagnosed him which cost me an extra 100 not only that but he lied to me stating that my dog had lost weight when he had actually gained weight! I could not believe it!!!! I diagnosed my dog he is now fine no thanks to maple view they took no time with us and thats not right when you are dealing with someones baby! I now go to the ottowa animal hospital they have quality affordable service........if you dont believe me ask some local trainers and hear about the stories. my mother in laws dog is dying now and they cannot give an answer why? I think this clinic should be reported I believe she exhibits Symptoms of Canine Intestinal Cancer and but they just cant find a cause as they rush her out! if you call to talk unless they will make money off the call they will not listen and you cant even speak to bader directly........it kills me to watch this dog die being that I am an animal lover and I am going to school to be a vet tech! It saddens me to think there are such heartless people out there!

Wow, Im a little confused by the other reviews. My dogs have been patients at this clinic for 6 years. 2 died over this past summer. One of old age, and the other of stomach cancer. The vets and staff couldnt have been more compassionate and understanding. Their prices are very reasonable, and they will bill you if you have someone caring for your dog and the dog needs vet care while you are out of town. The clinic regularly has veterinary interns in there, which I view as a positive to growing and training future vets. The only area that Ive had issues with is their boarding services. I believe I boarded there twice. And the dogs came back to me smelling like urine, indicating to me that they werent let out of their kennels frequently enough (or at all?). I wont bring them back for boarding. But their vet services are very good. IF their boarding matched that I would give them a VERY GOOD rating instead of GOOD.

Our first experience with Maple View was great. They offered an alternate treatment to an expensive treatment for our newly-adopted animals heartworms. We were told at the time that he would need to be on that medication for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, when we returned after some issues with another vet that was closer to us, Maple View now says they require us to complete another heartworm test before issuing him a prescription for a preventative medicine, citing "its part of protocol." I will not take my animal to any vet that will put protocol ahead of my dogs health. They are more interested in covering themselves than they are in my dogs health. They are responsive, seem to understand what they are doing, and are genuinely nice - hence 2 stars. Just hope you dont have something that requires them to go even one inch beyond protocol.
