I have lived in Roseville with my family for 4 years now. I am an electrical engineer by day and a musician, when I can afford the time, by night. Our pediatrician, unfortunately, passed away last summer so my wife and I needed to find another pediatrician for our two kids. I had always heard very nice things about the East Lake center so we decided to make an appointment. That is when we first met Dr. Roi. At first, Dr. Roi also had no problem "building" a relationship with my family. We originally only had a 3yr old and an 18 month old in our family. My wifes sister recently had a child with her estranged boyfriend. She has had substance abuse issues for many years which included run-ins with the law. Well, the last run-in cost her her freedom for 2 years. So, instead of allowing the state to place her 1 year old son in foster care, my wife and I agreed to take care of him until his mother was free and made a "genuine" effort to get her life in order. So, naturally, we made an appointment to introduce our newest member of the family to Dr. Roi. Well, it was quite apparent that Dr. Roi seemed uncomfortable almost immediately after meeting this little boy. Frankly, it was very uncomfortable and bizarre. Did I mention the boy was of mixed race. He definitely favors his African-American fathers skin color and hair texture. The reason I mention these attributes is because within a few days after that particular visit, we received a phone call, as well as an e-mail, telling us that we (our children) would be seen by one of the other three physicians at this clinic. The reason stated was that Dr. Roi had too many patients but that if we "preferred" to go elsewhere, the clinic would refer us to a different clinic. Our initial reaction was one of confusion and a bit of shock. It wasnt until we did a little research and discovered that our family wasnt the first family to receive this abrupt and unexplainable treatment from Dr. Roi. It has become very clear to me that Dr. Roi isnt simply exercising her religious "freedom". She has, unambiguously, made it quite clear that her intolerance is not exclusive to the LGBT community.

Dr Roi has been the best doctor that I have ever met. My daughter had 3 appointments with another pediatrician right when she was born and I was not happy with the care. He was not a bad doctor but I just didnt felt special but more importantly I didnt feel like he made my daughter feel special. Since our first appointment with Dr. Roi over a year ago our family has never experienced such care, love and true encouragement from a medical professional. As most moms can attest, you are always second guessing yourself and just wanting your child to be healthy. Dr. Roi has never made me feel like anything less than an amazing mom and ends every appointment with a huge hug for me and my daughter. I cant tell you another time a doctor has hugged me! She also is so incredibly smart and has had an amazing plan to keep my daughter healthy that I cant say she has ever had anything more than a short cold since she was born....no sinus infections, no hand/foot/mouth, no ear infections, no hospitalizations. Her immune system is so strong and it is because Dr. Roi doesnt just treat an illness she wants your child to be as healthy as possible so they can fight off what other kids might be passing around. She also consistently asks how my husband and I are feeling and has referred us (especially my husband who has GI issues) to doctors/specialists that have been amazing! If you are looking for a doctor for your child I cant say enough good things about Dr. Roi. I have recommended her to several friends who now love her as much as I do. If you read the very harmful comments that some people are leaving and choose to let their words turn you away from Dr. Roi, I promise you that the only people hurt by that would be you and your child. You will never find another pediatrician like her and your child will never be treated by someone so loving, kind and encouraging.

When we had our first child 3 years ago, I knew that I wanted a pediatrician who was 1. flexible with the vaccine schedule 2. Christian, and 3. more holistically minded. It is not easy to search for those things on the internet. I know - I tried. (Incidentally, you also cant search for an ob based on c-section vs. natural delivery ratios, but thats another story...) Long story short, Dr. Roi has been an answer to our prayers. We love her and we trust what she says. Some might wonder why I needed 1. a vaccine friendly doctor: after all of the reading that I did, I just wasnt sure that I wanted all of the vaccines and all at the same time. (Did you know that some doctors wont take you on as a patient if you do not agree to get all of the recommended vaccines!?) 2. A Christian doctor: I am grateful for all doctors and for the sacrifices they make to become doctors. I will be glad if any doctor will treat me in the case of an emergency, but when youre looking for a pediatrician, thats something different. There is the potential for a very long relationship (18+ years). We can travel the same roads and be friends with people of all backgrounds, but long-term partnerships work best when the partners are like-minded. 3. A more holistic doctor: I prefer a doctor who looks at the cause of a problem rather than treating symptoms, and one who is open to alternative treatments - making dietary changes, supplements, chiropractic. We thank God for Dr. Roi.

Sorry Dr. Vesna Roy, but you may have to arrive at the realization that humanity trumps all. You should place your humanity (when you finally find it) above your religion, above your politics, above your nationalism, above everything. I doubt anyone would want to deny you your rights to your own beliefs, religion or politics ... but that stuff does not belong at Eastlake Pediatrics. Youve brought criticism and contempt upon your medical group and your profession. I hope some of your colleagues let you know that. You were not being asked to care for the gay parents ... the doctor visit was not about the parents, it was about the baby. Your job was to provide your medical services to a 6-month old baby. By all means please reveal the name of the whoever it was you prayed to that told you to deny care to that baby. Not only should you lose your medical license ... if you attend a church, it should give you the boot, too. Yeah, youre getting a tiny bit of support here, but Im betting its from bigots and xenophobes just like yourself. Thankfully, that beautiful and innocent 6-month old baby wasnt drowning ... because youd have to pray before deciding not to try to save it. Shame on you.

everyone should boycott this Doctor. Make her Career go down in flames of the pits of hell!! I have NEVER in all my years heard of a Doctor who will not treat A BABY(a freaking baby. if she was a true Catholic wouldnt she believe all babies are born without sin? So therefore even if the Mothers are Lesbians the baby has nothing to do with that but the child is better off. The baby doesnt need a doctor who will write a prescription for a cold that says "2 Hail Marys every 4 hours and an Our Father when needed") Just absolutely disgusting and she should be horrifically ashamed of herself. She has completely turned her back on the Oath she swore herself to as a Doctor and should be persecuted for that, she should be shamed in front of the entire world(Oh wait thats already happening HAHAHAHAHA!) Doctor Vesna(WTF kind of name is that? Sounds like a vaginal disease) Roi i hope you are reading this and I hope you know not only are you a terrible Doctor you are a downright disgrace to the Human Race(haha I rhymed!) and I think you should just disappear or whatever you people do (Rapture?).
