I have been taking my child to this office for a decade. For the entire 10 years there have been the same 3 doctors at the practice and we have been seen by all of them. I have nothing but praise for two of the doctors - Dr. Sobocinski & Dr. Karam. Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience with Dr. Roi. In her defense, she hadnt seen us before, and it took a trip to the hospital to diagnose the issues (there were 2 things going on at once, and one was very rare). All that said, please dont let the plethora of negative reviews prevent you from seeing Dr. Sobocinski and Dr. Karam. Many were written by angry, hateful, militant political activists in response to a news story about Dr. Roi declining to take on a new patient. Choosing a pediatrician is the establishment of an 18 year long relationship and you should be comfortable with your choice. The doctor should also feel that he/she can provide you the absolute best care that he/she is capable of. If the Dr. Roi felt she wouldnt be giving her absolute best to that family, then she did the right thing by declining to be their doctor. I wont get into the political or religious aspect of her actions. We love Dr. Sobocinski and wouldnt dream of going anywhere else.

It was very hurtful and disheartening to read of the refusal of service to a baby simply because the parents are lesbians. To think that a physician, who presumably took and actually adheres to the Hippocratic oath, would do so and then offer a disingenuous (at best) apology for that heinous action is simply amazing, given that the year is 2015 in the 21st century. Imagine if I brought my child to your group practice, and refused to let Dr. Roi touch my child because of her cultural heritage. Difficult to comprehend, isn’t it? It is my hope that the two other physicians in the practice look inside their professional hearts and ask Dr. Roi to leave the practice. No doubt a “letter of apology” afterwards will make it all better. Prejudice and judgment are not amongst God’s teachings. What a sad story and what a horrible memory for your employees to have to carry forward with them. I am sure this is not the type of publicity that will help grow your practice.

I give this establishment a zero based on their support of Dr. Vesna Roi, age 49, who is apparently smart enough to be a doctor and yet has deemed herself somehow better than others along the way....Ms. Roi, your God will surely take vengeance on you for harming an innocent baby. You are one of the worst examples of humanity~a "Christian" who is educated in the science of doctoring and yet you dare to sit in judgement of a baby because you disagree with the lifestyle of his parents. You, madam, are a true hypocrite and guilty of many, MANY sins according to your Bible. I will ask the Powers That Be for salvation for your soul, but I have not much faith in it since those like you seldom educate themselves enough to take responsibility for your wrong and make it right. You may want to invest some more time in your prayer activities, for your soul is in dire straits.

Im all for treating others with equality and have no judgement on anyone. But I would be a fool not to see a doctor because of what others have said based on one single situation that I dont even know the full story to. Dr. Roi is a wonderful doctor. She has been quick to respond when I thought my babe was sick and got me in for an appointment right away. I also greatly appreciate how she seeks the root of a problem rather than medicinally providing a solution to the symptom. She was also very understanding about my decisions as a parent in regards to my daughters health and has this provided a safe and open environment for me. She also performed most of the 2 month check up with baby in lap and even while I was nursing. She is kind to my child and I am beyond pleased with her services.

Based solely on the quality of care my children have gotten here for the past 18 years, they are fabulous. I appreciate that their care is conservative meaning they arent quick to throw medical intervention at every single problem. They take the time to figure out if that is necessary or not. I think its unfortunate that parents that dont even have children who are seen at this practice feel the need to review this place based on one news story of which all you know is what the news story said. No one was denied care here. The couple who originally wanted Dr Roi to see their daughter was seen by her senior, more experienced colleague instead.

Its interesting that people are very quick to review a business without having set foot in the building. This review is coming from someone whose children have been patients for 4.5 years with Dr. Karam. I was referred to Eastlake Pediatrics by a few people...before I even had children. I was told that when I do have children that this is the clinic to go to. I am so glad I followed that advice. The nurses, office staff and doctors have always gone above and beyond for my boys. My children are not afraid of the doctor and I believe that is because of the care they have received here. Outstanding care.

Excellent doctors and incredibly knowledgeable. Weve seen both Dr. Roi and Dr. Karam for routine checkups and sick care and both are caring and compassionate. They are very warm and listen to your concerns and answer questions in such a way thats both reassuring and easy to understand. Interesting to see that one vindictive patient can try to take down an entire office with their army of keyboard warriors. Luckily this hasnt affected their business as their patient roster is jam packed.

Disgusting to here of a doctor that wont treat a patient due to their sexual orientation. People say that this choice of the doctor doesnt diminish their service as a provider, however do you really want someone so obviously brain dead to have contact with your child. Doctors are supposed to be smart yet this doctor feels being gay is a choice. Its people like this and people who think this dr isnt in the wrong is the reason that LGBT rights are lacking in our society.

Dr. Roi will not see children of same sex parents. Apparently if she was in the 1950s she would see no problem with refusing to see African-American patients. She sees absolutely nothing wrong with this in fact she brags about it to her friends how she refused to see a patient because their parents were different. Unwilling to see beyond her Christian beliefs, she has put a child at risk rather than deal with someone she does not agree with. Shame on Dr. Roi.

I have been bringing my son to that office for the last three years and LOVE it! I give Dr. Roi credit for expressing that she would not be able to care for that child at her greatest potential. It takes a GREAT doctor to admit that another doctor would be better for that couple. She may have decided not to treat that child BUT she DID refer them to Dr. Karam, another pediatrician in the same office (a detail the articles left out).
