This is by far one of the worst Doctors office that I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Both my son and daughter were sick, they have the exact same symptoms, after waiting for over an hour for the 3rd time in a row, the Dr. finally came into the room, said my son has bronchitis and that my daughter has and ear infection.... now mind you my daughter has not once complained about her ear, but he is the Dr. so I agree and he gives her some antibiotics, and my son some different antibiotics and a steroid. Here it is a week later, and low and behold, my daughter is still sick. Still never once complained about her ear. I call up Shelby Pediatrics to get an appt. 240. I get there 10 minutes early. Almost immediately upon arriving my co-pay is collected, now comes the fun part the wait...... Well this time I got tired of waiting. After sitting in the waiting room for over an hour, watching 6 different children be called in front of my daughter. I got tired of waiting so I asked when I will be called..... the Nurse snoty attitude said you "should" be next. 2 more kids..... I am livid by now, so I go up and ask for my co-pay to be refunded so I can take my daughter to urgent instead. Yet another fiasco, then they ask if I would rather leave it as a credit for the next visit.... like I am coming back..... Waste of an hour and a half for nothing....... finding another Pediatrician now.....

On multiple occasions I have waited for 45 min - 1 hour past my appointment time. They are not convenient for working parents. They do no take well visits on the weekend or in the evening. There are A LOT of communication issues within this office. They schedule appointments for immunizations too early for the immunizations to be administered, so then you have to come back for an additional appointment. When they mess up they blame the parents. Some of the staff have admitted that they didnt know what they were looking at so they just diagnosed an ear infection and prescribed antibiotics. They dont tell the parents all the information that they should, leaving the parents to be surprised when they see the documentation or talk to any other doctors. They tried to tell me that I gave them certain information, which I KNOW is a lie. I even had other witnesses with me than can verify that the practice is lying.

Waiting time is more than an hour after appointment time. This happened to me 3 times. Doctors must be taking multiple appointments for the same time. Second visit I clearly mentioned that I cant wait too long because I need to go back to work call. They clearly said doctor is on the way (May be coming from different hospital). Third time my wife took kids to hospital and same thing finally she saw different doctor could not wait for too long. This system has to change; I am not sure who to complain on these kinds of places.

Dr. Patel is amazing. I switched both of my children to her and I am so happy I did it. Not only does she offer at home remedies to take care of minor ailments, she explains what my children have and helps me understand whats going on with their little bodies without just handing me a prescription and sending me on my way. I feel like she truly cares about my kids.

Too big to care about new patients. A very money hungry office. Uneducated nurses. Refusal to fill maintenance asthma prescription over the phone for my son. They do not care about the parents schedule and have no consideration. They asked me for $1 that my insurance did not pay for, my insurance pays very, very well. I highly do not recommend this office.

Dr. R tried to PHYSICALLY fight me in the exam room with my 3.5 year-old son. He also stated that " [I] wasnt allowed to question his diagnoses." Office manager refuses to call my husband back for almost 2 months.

We have been seeing Dr. Rao for 20 years with my two children. This office is knowledgeable, considerate and kind. Would never go anywhere else.
