want to Gentle Dental a couple years ago; my first and only visit went well enough at first. . the receptionist seemed nice; when the dentist finally came in one look in my mouth and he saw that I needed a crown and forgot everything else I knew I needed a crown but my immediate concern was a tooth that I thought had a cavity forming in it he totally ignored the reason I came in and focused on the crown; kept talking about getting a crown, the work I would need for the crown and my cavity? Well look at that next time you come in, was all he had to say about checking me out and fixing the tooth that I went in there to have him look at. When I went out to the reception area to make another appointment all she had for me was information about my copay for the crown, $700!! everyone seem to forget that I was there for something besides the crown.. I never went back and Ive never been to sorry.. it was an obvious money making enterprise... me being a person was just incidental to them, it was my bank account they were really interested in.

I went to gentle dental about 1 year ago. I take very good care of my teeth and had a routine cleaning there. After I was seen by the dentist he told me I had about 6 cavities. I couldnt believe it but figured it was just that I had weak teeth. I never had the work done because I changed providers and they were no longer in network. When I saw the new dentist he told me I only had one small cavity and that I needed a crown ...which I knew I needed because of a root canal. This is very disturbing to know that he could be over diagnosing and drilling into teeth that just should be left alone. I would like an explanation of why this would happen.... because Im pretty sure cavities dont just go away!

I absolutely love this dentist. As someone who has had multiple oral surgeries and extensive dental work I have seen a lot of dentists and orthodontists in my time but Gentle Dental of SCS is by far the best dental office I have ever experienced. The staff seems happy to be there and everyone is always in a great mood - or at least really good at faking it. The dentist is extremely gentle and he makes shots painless. Alyssa, the hygienist, is extremely personable and nice every time i get my teeth cleaned. I have moved a couple times since becoming a patient at this office and I will not change my dentist and probably never will as long as theyre around.

Terrible. One word really does say it all. I wanted certain things done to preserve my teeth, cavities fixed and cleaning. Instead they offered me their 2 plans, one was ~$4,500, the other ~$10k. The "dentist" I saw looked at a couple teeth, got somewhat frustrated and declared all my teeth were bad and I needed dentures. I called there before my next appt. and asked for a call back to discuss my options. Instead no call back and I missed my appt. because I needed an answer before I paid for another office call. A week or so later I get a bill saying I owe them $40.00 for an office visit. Huh? Nice people, poor business practices.

I have a tremendous amount of anxiety about the dentist for a number of reasons and have visited so many dentists over the years. I walked in very anxious and was treated with calm compassion, understanding, and warmth. I felt very at ease. The current state of my teeth and treatment plan was explained in great detail, which I was part of the decision making process for, and we came up with a plan. I am very happy to say that this dental appointment ended with hugs and happiness, instead of tears and upset. Highly recommend this dental office.

Its a very nice, calm and friendly atmosphere. The employees are professional AND they seem to genuinely like each other! How cool is that? This review is after my third visit. Ive had experiences with both dentist. And they are both wonderful! Dr. Ascano is cool and laid back and Dr. Duan has high energy and is meticulous. I found ease with each of them. They both have great bedside manners and do excellent work. Before coming here I have had really unpleasant experiences with previous dental "professionals". Needless to say, Im GITTY!

This office has outstanding personnel, top to bottom. My appointments have always held to schedule, which is my pet peeve for any doctor appt. Amy is the best hygienist - extremely kind, professional, and thorough in her patient care and information. She always makes you her number one priority, which gives you confiedence youre receiving the proper care. Ive never had any issues for all the times Ive gone to this office, and hassle free appointments seem few and far between anywhere else. Highly recommend this office!

I love the dentist and the dental staff here. They are very friendly and easy going. I had all four wisdoms pulled at once. The needles were not pleasant but they werent painful. I was numb but awake for the whole procedure which took less than an hour. In the past, I had a terrible experiencewith dentists and now, with Dr. Duan and Zee and Shylo, Im not afraid to go anymore. They made it a pleasant experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who is squeamish about the dentist.

This is the best dental office that I have been to! I had some awful experiences and then I found Dr. Duan and Miss Kathy and I felt like I was part of the family. They are so friendly and they took great care of me. Dr. Duan is a great dentist and we thought that I was going to need a root canal but she did a great job and was able to end up just doing a filling and not needing to do a root canal. I will definitely be using this as my dentist office for a long time. :)

I went I went in for my appointment and they said to me I had three teeth that needed to be pulled I sort of freaked out for a minute and then when she started she explained to me that the needle was the worst part which it was in the whole time she was working on my teeth she was saying things like beautiful good were almost there and that help relax me so much the next day Im fine I have no pain it was just an amazing experience glad I dont have to do it again

The gentle dental staff of St. Clair Shores is extremely kind, welcoming, and accommodating. I had to bring my 10-month-old to my cleaning and my hygienist Sam did everything she could to make the appointment go smooth. She was extremely professional and very kind. I have referred her to all of my family and friends and they too feel the same way! Sam and Dr. Duan make going to the dentist a great experience!

Seriously fantastic! And Ive been fearful of the dentist my entire life! Had 2 root canals, 2 crowns, took 3hrs & 45min and I felt fine the entire time. Dr. Ascano and Mark helped me relax by reassuring me, listening to when I said it hurt & making adjustments so it didnt. I am actually 75% less afraid to actually have the rest of my dental work done! Super friendly office staff too! Thank you!
