I do not recommend this dentist office. I had gone for years and really liked the hygienist I had, however, they have a seeming revolving door of dentists. We also had some billing issues w/a crown that my husband had. This week was the last straw - I showed up to the office for my appointment after fighting traffic from the NW metro only to find out that there were no dentists or hygienists there. The only person there was the receptionist who had informed me that they had been calling an old number for 2 months prior to try to tell me it had been cancelled (calls which I never received). This was news to me because 3 days before the appointment I received an email confirmation AND a text confirmation for the appointment which I responded affirmatively to. Im not sure why they chose not to inform me of the cancellation via my cell or my email. Not only did they cancel and not ensure I was informed and could reschedule, but they were sending me confirmations up to the date of the appointment!!! I had booked child care for that day which ended up being a waste of time for me and my child care provider, not to mention a waste of money and a whole lot of unnecessary stress. Apologies are not enough in this case, its really inexcusable to treat loyal patients this way when it all could have been easily prevented.

I cant believe this place is still in business. I recently moved to Edina and wanted to find a dentist in my area. I went to Gentle Dentistry and had a disgusting vibe when I walked in the door. The office was unprofessional, their staff was awful, and after my cleaning, the dentist told me I had SIX cavities. SIX! I have never had a cavity before so this was completely shocking to me. They printed off an invoice telling me how much it would cost to fix my "six cavities". It was an outrageous fee. I went to my old dentist to get a second opinion and was told I had impressive gum tissue, great-looking teeth and NO cavities. Not ONE. This clinic should be shut down. They are scam artists and the most unprofessional people Ive ever met.

went in to get 3 cavities filled. 2 on one side and 1 on the other. The dentist hit a nerve when giving me the needle to numb me and I thought I would die....ok..so now my tooth is killing me because during the filling she didnt get it right and had to mix another batch. I dont think it took very well. The next time I go in for the other side (about 3 weeks later) and she is gives me topical numbing on both sides. I wonder why and ask her what the plan is for the day and she said to fill 2 cavities, one on each side. I said you already did one side!!!! The assistant says, "good catch". OMG......well i still have to go back in to fix this one tooth. I think I will just try somewhere else.

So reading through some of the reviews here...the office moved middle of last year and took out many of the issues they had in their old office- moving into a new facility, clean, modern, cared-for. Part of the issue previously was the building owners were not willing to help with their remodelling, and it was a struggle for the practice, and some staffers were not very good at their jobs. Colleen and Dr Akers do a really good job of caring for their patients. Billing still has a little bit of undesirable communication issues, but they do get resolved. (thus a 4 not a 5). Try them again (BTW closed Mondays, but they have evening hours on other days).

I have never been to an office where the staff is more friendly, obsesssed with perfectionism, in expensive (even without insurance). They took time to carefully review costs and treatment plan, keep costs within estimates and call the next day to check on my well being. Dr. Maroney and Jaqueline were unbelieveably professional and perfectionist. Ive been to dovens of dentists and these were the best and cheapest. If those five buffoons below were serious they must have been at a different clinic, or they are a bunch of spoiled brats. For $750 a crown when most places are charging $1200, yould have to be nuts (or loaded) to go anywhere else. Steve S.

The people who work in the office (both staff and professionals) are nice and generally helpful. Weve not experienced any major hiccups with our oral care (but weve not had any major work done either). On the flip side, we have scheduled appointments for cleanings and check-ups only to be told upon arrival that no dentist would be in that day. At another point in time, our dentist changed practice locations and we were not informed prior to our appointment. Most recently, we found out that they quit taking our insurance but failed to notify any of the carriers of that insurance. If youre looking for highly professional, thorough care - keep looking.

I just got back from my initial consultation here - horrified at the lack of sanitation and overall dirtiness of the Edina location. I am still in shock - it felt like I visited a third world country dentists office. When the walls, carpets, seats have dirt and marks on them, it makes you wonder about the cleanliness of the instruments they are using. And no lie, my dental hygenist had 93X music (heavy metal) blaring in the background. The staff WERE very friendly, but no way does that make up for the disgustingness of the place. Going to take a shower now.

One of the most worst places I have visited when regards to dental work. I was lied to on numerous occasions by the office manager of all people regarding my case. During the process of getting the partial done it took 4 different doctors to complete the job and finaly when it was done by the 4 th doctor Acers the partial one of the teeth came loose. The place is a joke and i would not recommended to my worse enemy.

Top of the line! I needed some complicated dental work done and Dr Akers did a fantastic job! I feel very confident in the denal work done here. All the hygienist Ive see have been great. They took a picture of one of my back teeth.. I could see with my own eyes how terrible my back teeth were. They even helped me finance what my insurance didnt cover at 0% interest for 6 months! I have had a great experience!

When we joined this clinic last year I thought that it was just a one-time glitch that a dentist "was not available" at the time of my daughters appointment and that she would have to come back. Now that I have experienced three more scheduling nightmares, Ive realized that they dont know how to schedule their patients (or the dentists and hygienists cant get to work). Very frustrating. Time to move on.
