According to my parents, Dr. Maben has insisted that she has fibrosis of the lungs and/or emphysema and according to the cardiopulmonary specialists at KU Medical Center, she does not. Her lungs have remained fairly clear for several months and shows no sign of fibrosis. There is slight scarring but otherwise, nothing that would warrant the use of an oxygen machine that Dr. Pervez, Dr. Mabens colleague has insisted she needs. According to the report at KU, her oxygen percentage reads consistently at 98% during each appointment for the past several months. When Dr. Maben asked Mom if she has continued to see Dr. Mabens colleague, Dr. Pervez a pulminologist and Mom said she had not, Dr. Maben refused to discuss anything further about the report from KU Medical Center but instead insisted that Mom still has emphysema (Mom does not have emphysema...period. This has been addressed at KU Medical Center). Further, Dr. Maben refused to address any other medical concerns my Mom has. It appears that it is either "Dr. Mabens way or the highway," so-to-speak, according to what my parents tell me with each visit. My Father is in the process of finding another general practitioner for Mom. Just wanted to share to alert others. Dr. Maben may have positive points but it did not go so well for my Mom.

I would not recommend Dr Maben to anyone. Several years ago, my wife was a patient of Dr Maben and my wife asked for a complete physical as she had multiple medical problems. Dr Maben said that we do not do physicals any longer as they are not necessary. Within several weeks, my wife suffered a major heart attack that killed her and I feel if Dr. Maben had performed a full physical including an EKG, my wifes heart blockage would have been found and corrected.

My family has been with Dr. Maben since I was younger. I have decided to branch away because her answer to everything is some type of medication. Shes got my mother on so many narcotics and thinks that its an acceptable solution to her illnesses. Ive attempted to discuss it with her and she is just defensive about my concerns.

I have been a patient of Dr. Maben for years now and have had no complaints she listens to what I have to say and she seems to always be on top of things the medication she has me on she has actually started to take me off of them since I myself have taken things seriously and have been doing what she told me too
