Not experienced it first hand, I had my cateract surgery at Mercy SurgeryCenter, had several patients tell me I shouldve done it at this eye center. I really need to find someone that would fill my Progressives Rx on Medicaid. I tried ordering son single Vision ones on my phone but the Rx was made wrong. Havent returned them yet. What a hassle. They where RayBan Clubmaster frames and the look great, but what good was that when I couldnt wear them and could afford to spend another $120 on the lences to get progressive bifocals made after paying $138 for the sing Visions. May I can get this place to help me use my insurance to get my right glasses made? Several have referred them to me!

I had a blephoraplasty eyelid surgery this spring in Springfield and it has impacted my vision. I have just been prescribed new glasses, after purchasing new glasses in January, 1 month prior to the eyelid surgery. Therefore, I called out of concern and recommendation from the plastic surgeon to make an appointment with an ophthalmologist to verify my eyes are healthy and to possibly determine if a correction is needed. I was told their ophthalmologists only see patients prior to this type of surgery and that I could see their optometrist. I work in health care and am quite surprised by the fact that they will not see me for an evaluation, by an MD, not an OD.

Incredibly disappointing. Patient here for over a decade, first with LASIK, and now with glasses. Long story short, staff didnt listen when I said I couldn’t see with contacts, forced me to buy unwearable contacts, and then wouldnt make it right. Rather than getting the prescription right the first or even second time, I had to make multiple visits, and each time, instead of apologizing, I was treated like a hypochondriac. As if I actually enjoyed having to drive to go sit in someone’s waiting room. The glasses shop ladies were wonderful. I found Dr. Smith generally unhelpful, bordering on rude. Im not one to write bad reviews, but please: go elsewhere.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ken Neu for over 10 years after my optometrist discovered readings indicating glaucoma. While a patient, there were two occasions where Dr. Neu felt the need to go the extra mile and bring in once Dr. Prater and once Dr. Mattax. They too were exceptional in their care and treatment. As I told Dr. Neu on repeated occasions, whoever does hiring for their facility does an amazing job. Every experience with every person, receptionist, assistants, or optical department was a pleasant courteous experience. Consummate professionals, from top to bottom says it all.

Do NOT waste your time nor your money. Please its not worth your money. The Doctors here dont care what type of service that are giving people. I had LASIK eye surgery done three eyes ago and Im having trouble seeing clearly. They want me to give them another six thousand dollars for a touch up...lol. I had my family get LASIK there by my referral. We have spent thousands....I cant even get an eye exam without paying more money. I would understand if its been 10 years, but only after three...and Im having issues. Im not going to pay you so that you can update your data.

I went to them because I was having double vision, and headaches. I told them everything that was going on and they didnt act like they cared and said I had no pressure behind my eyes and they were 20/20. The next week I went to Mercy Optometrists and they found out I have Pseudotumor which can make you go blind and that I had extreme pressure which doesnt show up in just a week. They got me taken care of as to which Mattex Neu Prater told me I was fine and sent me on my way and didnt take their time to listen to my problems!

A few weeks ago my son poked his eye at school, and I was called to pick him up. On the way to the school, I contacted Mattax Neu Prater to see if he could be seen that afternoon. They were able to fit him in quickly to make sure serious damage hadnt been done. The office staff and Dr. were all wonderful and kind. They made sure my son was comfortable and that all our questions were answered before we left, with instructions to call Monday if there wasnt improvement over the weekend.

I recommended Mattax New Prater to my Mom for her cataract surgery. She was nervous and scared of having the procedure done. The staff and doctors were very caring, respectful, and patient with her. It was a pleasant experience from the first to the last appointment. I knew it would be because my son has been a patient there since he was 3 and every appointment has been a good experience.

Had cataract surgery with Dr. Ken Neu and had excellent results even though I had Lasik many years ago and that makes cataract surgery trickier. He and the entire group are caring and want to give the best possible service. Wouldnt go anywhere else.
