Bad experience. If you are going for a Lasik evaluation understand that if they discover cataracts the evaluation is no longer free. Apparently Lasik surgery cannot be performed in the presence of cataracts. I was told by two people at the clinic that the evaluation would continue to be free even if cataracts were found - which I knew I had and told them so and had optometrist documents saying so, which I gave to them. Two days after the evaluation Sams Club called with my pre-surgery Eye drops. I had NOT agreed to any procedure. I called Missouri Eye Institute and the woman who answered told me I didnt have to accept them. My question was why were they ordered? She again told me I did not have to accept them. I sensed no concern that an error had been made. Now I was concerned that maybe the evaluation was not free. I eventually spoke to the office manager, Richard Stone, who after hearing my story called me back two days later to say there would be no charge for the the Lasik evaluation, that unbeknown to me had turned into a cataract evaluation, and that the ordering of the pre-surgery drops was a mistake. He explained that the guy who normally handles this was out on the day I was there and thus the mix-up. I asked him why Missouri Eye Institute charges an additional $1600 to use a Femtosecond Laser for the cataract procedure and Mercy Hospital does not? He then contacted them and later told me Mercy has a facilities charge for the use of this laser. I called Mercy, they said there is no such charge. Ordering prescriptions drugs when no surgery was scheduled, be it done on purpose or by accident, along with the rest of the experience has prompted me to go elsewhere.

My daughter had been in the hospital the day before for eye pain, disorientation, eye pressure, blood shot eyes ect. The hospital did all labs and suggested she come here. We were squeezed in but still had to wait an hour and a half. When he walked in the room Dr. Osborn was rude never introduced himself, shook hands or even got associated with us. He was misinformed saying " so you had an eye injury?" He didnt answer the questions we had. He stood up and opened the door while we were still asking him questions, as if we were bothering him. When he said she had eye iritis which DOES NOT cause pressure he couldnt explain why she had that and kept trying to brush that off saying her pressure was normal according to his tests but according to her feels like someone is inside her head pressing against her eyes. I would never come here where it is so obvious they do not care. With my daughter in pain and eyes as red as blood the rude girls behind the desk offered us the option of rescheduling after being there over an hour. Please go someehere else

I came here on a recommendation. Dr. Jansen seems to know his stuff. That said, I dont think the doctors are aware of the absurd wait times (or maybe they are). Every time I went to their office I waited at least two hours. It wasnt just me, others were kept waiting and even openly complained about it in the waiting room. They have a process in place to keep you hooked in. You wait for a while in the main waiting room and then they call you back. The technician does some pre-checks on your eyes and then takes you to a smaller, secondary waiting room. After waiting there for a while they finally take you to your patient room. Here you will wait another extended period of time, wondering behind the closed door if they just forgot you were in there. This is complete disregard for your patients time. The kicker? They dont even have wifi like most offices so I couldnt do my work.

Miscommunication with office staff created negative experience. Most of staff extremely professional and helpful. The director was rude. Dr. Osborn left before 30 minute post procedure check. Dr. Carter did the post procedure check. The one week check up was with Dr. Carter but received a call from the office to change the time and the Doctor to Dr. Bureman. When I questioned why I was told "the doctors are interchangeable. Past experience with Dr. Jansen was a totally different experience. We will in the future limited our needs to Dr. Jansen as physicians are not interchangeable.

Dr Meyer was great to work with. He was easy to communicate with and took time with me. His staff was so friendly, kind, and efficient. It was obvious they all work very well together as everything ran so smoothly. The surgery staff was equally as kind, making the experience very comfortable. My results from cataract surgery was excellent. I would recommend Dr Meyer and staff to anyone looking for dependable and delightful services.

Waited an hour and twenty minutes for my initial visit. Seemed to have a scheduling problem as several other had been there longer. I asked for my paperwork and copies of my insurance and ID to be returned and I left and will go to another doctor.

Doctors and staff at Missouri Eye were great. Vision is outstanding after cataract surgery. Easiest surgery Ive ever had. Highly recommended.
