I went to this office for the first time this week, by a referral from a co-worker with the same insurance as I. I had problems in the past with other eye offices trying to over charge me or argue about what my benefits are. I had one supposedly popular eye office in our local mall that tried to tell me that I only have insurance benefits of 20% off. I said I get 20% off for having no insurance and just coming to you and working for my company. They attempted to rip me off and over charge me and I had to spend hours on the phone with my HR and my vision insurance company just to confirm that they are completely wrong and I didnt pay for insurance coverage of only 20% off. They were complete idiots. So, I started asking around about the best place to go and someone advised me Sunshine Eye Clinic. First, I called and scheduled two appointments back to back for my family and I was able to fill out my paperwork online. It took me 10 minutes to schedule and another 5 minutes in the office before they took me in for my exam. Very simple and easy for new patients. The dr was fast and the staff was courteous. The dr also gave me options for my contacts instead of telling me why I had to take the most expensive brand only on the market. She gave the choices and let me decide. She took my personal usage and what would work best for me and suggested what she thought would be the best and had me try them on and I love my new contacts. Also, while I was in the office I decided to inquire about colored lenses and the staff was very patient and helpful in helping me pick out some additional lenses for fun. My husband had an appointment the same day and he was in and out faster than I was. He got the frames and lenses he wanted and he was given the extra option choices, which he took. We ended up using all our benefits for the year and paying out of pocket for the rest. We spent more there because of the ease and comfort of the office. Highly recommended for everyone. If you dont have insurance, its the BEST prices Ive ever seen and Ive worn glasses and contacts for over 25 years.

The eye examines for my husband, four year old daughter and I was excellent. However I would go elsewhere for buying your glasses. First I was handed off from one person to another. I could hear the lady consultant gossiping about other people in a negative way. This should have been my first clue to go somewhere else. Second the sales lady did not suggest that I get the scratch coating or glare resistant lenses. Even though our insurance covered much of the coast and she know I would be using the glasses for frequent computer use. I was glad I did some research and had the features added anyway even though she was leading me to believe I would not need them. Third when returning for the fitting of our new glasses they could not line the glasses properly on my small child. When I asked for the noise cushions to be changed out I was treated like I was being difficult. I was passed along to three different people and could hear them talking about me. I could hear the lady blaming me for the fact she could not do her job. God forbid I wanted my child to not have her glasses slipping down her face all the time. They never did fix the glasses right. I took them elsewhere and had the noise pieces symmetrically aligned and properly fitted within two minutes. Save yourself time and frustration go buy your glasses elsewhere.

They couldnt get my prescription right and after two tries they gave up and told me to go somewhere else. They said their machine told them that the lenses were correct even though I told them they werent. They said I just needed to get adjusted to them. (I waited a week the first try, nope) Ive been wearing glasses for 56 years (My first pair was when I was 11 months old) and I know the difference between "adjustment time" and flat out wrong! I have a very difficult prescription but this is the first time I have ever been told "Sorry, we cant help you, go somewhere else." The staff is nice until theyre inconvenienced or it starts to cost them money, then its "Bye bye!". It seems the customer only comes first when its easy and simple and doesnt require extra effort or (God forbid!) extra money. Im really sad that this turned out this way but I was made to feel like a whinny, bad customer and a lair that they just didnt want to deal with anymore (they DID smile when they implied though). Well, they wont have to...except when I take back the readers they made me which work worse than my 10 year old ones I came in to have replaced (Twice on them too). No point in trying anymore, Ill just get my money back and say adios. I HIGHLY do NOT recommend them.

I went into Sunshine Eye Clinic for an eye exam because I wanted to try out contacts. After paying extra for a "contact lens fitting" on top of the already high fee for an eye exam, I am tremendously disappointed in the service that I have received. Everything was fine on the day of the exam. The exam was thorough, efficient, and even answered some outstanding questions that I have had for a while. I was given a pair of trial/sample contacts to wear for 2 weeks. After this time I was supposed to come in for the "fitting"; however, one of the lenses tore the day before I was supposed to get re-checked for contact "fit". I called and was told they would have me a new set in a few days. That was 2 months ago. I am now on my 5th follow up call trying to get this resolved. Because of the above average cost and the below average service I cannot recommend this establishment.

I am picky. Very happy with my glasses and prescription.... the office and medical personnel were great as expected. What keeps me coming back to the clinic is Johnny, the gentleman who has helped me find glasses that fit my personality, my professional preference, and my face. I like to have glasses that no one else has but arent way out there. I have a tall forehead, crooked nose, and wide cheeks... honestly speaking. When I get new glasses I like to try on several of them so I come in early. Johnny gives me my space and when I ask him for help he has suggestions based on his professional knowledge. Each year he has suggested something that was on the edge of my comfort zone.... every week I get a compliment on them. Seriously. I very much appreciate Johnny and I will keep coming back as long as he is there. - Dr. Carolyn Brockman

The nurse was great and the doctor was fine. The sales lady I had helping me pickout my glasses was awful and absolutely ruined the whole experience. I am in sales myself and considered trying to get glasses from a different place because she was so rude the entire time. She said my face looked fat in some glasses (which I am getting for driving only) and when I told her I didnt want a certain kind of lenses b/c I didnt see it necessary for me to have them she said that I "didnt want the nice lenses." She didnt show me all of the glasses she immediately took me to one section and didnt even let me know about the other section that the dr did. Also, she kept telling me "no, you cant get those ones, they just dont look right." I will never go back to this place again to purchase glasses.
