People stay away from this hospital especially from emergency department! It is not hospital where patients are taken care , it is business center where they try to charge you for even doing nothing. My mom had ingrown toe nail and her finger was paining very much. We went to emergency room nurse said she is going to scalpe a little bit so that infected blood came out and after that everything would be fine as burse promised. I did not understand what scalping actually means but I told her that little touch on her finger will shock her. Nurse said she knows that and she took little knife and cut her finger even without anesthetic and my mom was extremely shocked and almost crying. I said ok for scalping because I did not really know that she was going to cut because I just trusted them since they are doctors and they know what they are doing. Shell I next time always remind doctors that cutting with scalp without anesthetic will shock anyone even healthy finger? After all she said we need to set appoinment with foot doctor to remove the nail. Wait, why the hell then they cut the finger, instead they could say go to foot doctor. She even could not normally cut. Now we have to go foot nail to remove the nail because it did not get better. All in all, for little cut which took 5 seconds they charged us 482$ and I did not have insurance because now it is not affordable for now. To be honest, I thought it would be free because they did not do anything except just cutting like butcher. Btw, nurse did shot on her righ hand without cleaning before with alcochol and putting plaster after and now its is red and looks something wrong. Do not trust them because they are doctors and they will take care you. Always keep in your mind that they will do their best to do something so that they could charge you. Believe me, if you go to foot doctor with complaing heart, they will anyway work on your foot because they dont want let customer go. P.S. this review I left on 27th of April 2017 now Im adding something interestin on 17th of may 2017. I have recieved 2nd letter asking me to pay $1,582 for physican. So you decide if you should go there.

My mother, 84 yr old, entered the geriatric psychiatric ward on 10.24 .16. She was walking and talking, belligerent. Today 10.31. 16 she is catatonic non responsive in any way and the doctor thinks shes Faking It. I was escorted off the property told not to return that I would be arrested for trespassing. my mother was put on the 72-hour hold today so I could not see her and I dont know what theyre doing to her and I hate this Hospital and the doctor. I know my mother and I know shes not Faking It . for psychiatrist to say that was incredible. In addition to that she had no food , no fluids, or medicine since Saturday thats 3 days with nothing. They finally decided to hydrate her tonight when I made a stink about it. I wouldnt put my pet rock in this place. The nurses they hang up on you and its not only in this ward its in the ICU Ward on floor 3. They sleep at night and are there surly during the day. Heaven forbid if you get in the middle of shift change which is 7 oclock. they hang up on you when youre calling from your bed for some assistance. Worst experience Ive ever had at a Hospital and its very troubling for my mother because they may kill her. She may just have given up enough or she will just die and they will not be able to do a thing about it. I am trying to get her removed from this hospital to save her life. But no one seems to be able to help me not even the police and the doctor certainly wont help me because hes the cause of all this problem hes trying to cover his behind so you wont be sued. Hes the only psychiatric doctor they have and what Ive discovered that you dont ever want to go to hospital where the doctors dont work for the hospital and they have no allegiance to anyone. And in this town I dont know any good hospitals here so youd be better off taking your loved ones to California or Arizona and go to UCLA or Mayo Clinic where you will get excellent care but get them out of the hospitals here. You would probably get better care in at Dewey animal shelter.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would have to do so for this place. How they are voted number 1 in Vegas well at least they are proud of that. My husband went in ER on Thursday, April 6, 2017 with extreme pain in the abdomen he walked in at 9:30 am and was left all day to throw up and soil himself at one point he had to get up and find something to throw up in since non and I mean non of the nurses would assist. Then they admit him put him on the 4th Floor, I get there at 4:15pm he is still in hallway not even in the room finally get them to put him in the room he is a complete mess wet from urine disgusting as well as in humane. I went over his regular meds with the nurse (Billy) 5 times not sure if listening skill are required in the medical field. My husband take gabapentin a prescription medication that you can not stop taking without huge impact on the body, well this medial # l in Vegas hospital did not even review his medications so therefore he was not given any, by the time I arrived on Friday , April 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm because he stated he was discharged he was a complete mess, could not walk, could not make complete sentences I was in shock, oh and not only that here is another special treatment that they provide for their patients at 2:23 am my husband texted me that they moved him from the 4th floor to the 2nd floor REALLY AT 2:23 IN THE MORNING WHO DOES THAT!!! Oh but it gets even better in the moved the staff took it upon themselves to throw away his new dentures (6 mo old) that were clearly marked and labeled how do I know this well I marked them clearly myself, thank god I took his wallet and phone. As I write this I am saddened to think of the cruelty that goes on the medical field here in Vegas. And for those that have had similar experience with Southern Hills my heart goes out to you and your family.

I came in through the ER (Nov 1, 2016) after being sent here by my primary physician. Id never been here before and when I walked in, surprisingly there was no one in the ER in the middle of the day. I got right in and was being examined by the ER nurses within minutes of getting there. I had a persistent cough for two weeks that I just couldnt shake which turned out to be something pretty serious called Empyema. I ended up being admitted and had to have surgery. I spent a total of 22 days here in each of the three "levels" of care, ICU, IMC (Intermediate Care) and regular hospital care and a different room / staff for each. Throughout each level of care - including the ER - I was very well taken care of and everyone on the staff was nice and personable. The nurses were quick and attentive, making sure I always had whatever I needed, from meds to ice water to ice cream and always had fresh sheets, pillows and blankets. The rooms are private, single person rooms. The rooms are nice and clean. Each room has a chair that pulls out into a small bed. My wife slept there every night. They dont really have restrictive visiting hours unless you have small children. The food isnt bad believe it or not, plus if you dont like whats on the menu, (they bring you a menu each day to select what you would like for each meal) you can request whatever you like. If they have it theyll bring it to you. No one likes to stay in a hospital, but if you have to, this is the one to go to. I see these other 1 star reviews and I cant even believe they are talking about the same hospital. Dont get me wrong, I couldnt wait to get out of there and get home, but my experience with this hospital was great all things considered and now I wouldnt go to any other hospital.
