I had other bad experiences with Lakeview hospital, but my latest takes the cake. I was about 3 months pregnant and I was having severe abdominal pains. I went to the ER there and they took blood and urine tests to see if they could see anything of concern. When they came back they said that my blood and urine levels showed no sign of being pregnant at all and that I must have miscarried a long time ago or I was just never pregnant in the first place and that I had probably just took one really cheap dollar store test that gave me a false positive. I told them that I had taken 2 tests a week of different brands all the first month of my pregnancy so it couldnt have been that. He was very condescending and said I probably had some kind of ulcer or something and have me a prescription for all the nausea I was experiencing. I took the medication and it gave me horrible side effects and I became sicker than ever. I threw up even with the antinausea medication about 1/4 of what I was without it. I decided to go to another doctor to figure out what was wrong since I was still feeling terrible they did a urine test and said I was most definitely pregnant and did an ultrasound and said the baby was okay and that I had never miscarried. I then was given good antinasea medication that helped a lot! Im thinking that they mixed up my test results with someone else because theres no way both would come back so negative. I miscarried a week later after finding out I didnt originally miscarry bringing back the pain of that whole situation. If they wouldnt have just treated me like I was some dumb girl who was just making up being pregnant to get attention and do an ultrasound or something else just to make sure before saying that I had miscarried especially when I had told them that I hadnt had any blood pass. This just lead to them thinking I was lying about being pregnant even more and I felt like and was treated like they thought I was just a hypcondriac wasting their time. Seriously NEVER go here especially if you are pregnant.

went to the ER because my son started breathing rapidly and wouldnt wake up. when we went in there Trent was our ER doctor and let me just say his bedside manner was awful. he is extremely rude and condescending. on top of that they ran a few tests and he said,"I work with babies all the time, he should be fine and honestly its something that will pass and you guys need to learn to channel your emotions in the correct way instead of putting it on to me." My first thought was to go off on him but I was more worried about my son than I was chewing him out. I told him we want to be transfered to primarys instead. He tried to tell me that we werent to that point yet and thats when I told him to get us an ambulance and transfer my son to primarys. so they put in for a transfer but in the meantime the doctor came back into the room and told me,"so Carter is really sick. best case scenario is that he has diabetes so lets hope he does because if it is anything else it will be way worse." why in the hell would I be hopeful that my kid has diabetes? bottom line, we went to primaries they ran about a million tests found out he had all sorts of viruses and ecoli in his gut which was whats making him so sick. save yourself the trouble and go to primary childrens. they clearly know what they are talking about and I feel like the ER doctors at lakeview just talk out of their ass to stroke their ego. I will say one thing though, the nurses were very courteous and polite. I mainly have a problem with the doctor that helped us. we have gotten him twice and both times was a complete douche to say the least.

way over priced, and no way to negotiate on bills you do not agree with. My mother in-law took my 2 year old daughter to the ER after she swallowed some of her own medication after getting into a pill box. long story short all the ER did was give her a charcoal smoothie and have her hooked up to a heart monitor for 4 hours to make sure she got the medicine out of her system. We have insurance but it has a giant deductible and we paid an estimated bill in full at the time of service to the tune of about $1200, all of which was out of pocket. i considered it a little high at this point, but it was an ER visit after all. about 3 weeks later i received a separate bill showing another $1800 owed for the services of that day. I paid in full immediately to take advantage of paid in full discounts but asked the representative to dispute the charges afterword and asking what the process was. she informed me that they would review each case independently but i could have no say in the matter it would all be done internally. overall we paid $3,000 out of pocket for them to hook her up to a heart rate monitor and give her charcoal. way over priced and extremely dissatisfied. i probably would have paid less had i told them i didnt have any insurance for my daughter...

I cant say enough about Lakeview hospital. They are every bit human, professional , carrying and kind. They follow through with determination to show their best side. They have broad enough shoulders to even care about their critics. I will never forget the time that my medication was misplaced. They found the medication and drove it to my home ---- by the Director of the Pharmacy. Or how about the time I had a kidney stone and arrived at the hospital just five minutes prior to the doctor. One more time, because of a shortage of rooms I was the last one in after 10 PM and after my emergency surgery I was booked into a semi makeshift private room, but with a full time staff that kept watch over me the entire night. In the morning I had a gift card worth $50.00 to help raise my spirits. Tell me they dont care, especially when for the next two days they followed up with phone calls. Tell me they dont care, especially when they greet you with a smile of confidence. And finally, tell they dont care when you know that you sense that nothing else is more important than yourself. I was treated not by quality staff, but by qualified staff.

I came in with a sprained ankle and had also fallen six feet and landed flat on my back. My two requests were that I get out of pain and my and my ankle was wrapped so I could walk on it. My P.A., Scott, spent less than one minute with me. He didnt even touch my ankle to see where it hurt!! He has the bedside manner of a hedgehog. If he would have spent more time with me I could have told him some Doctor-patient confidentiality stuff so he wouldnt have treated me like I was seeking out painkillers, but he honestly didnt care. I told him I was in a great deal of pain after receiving one small dose of pain medication and he said there was nothing he could do. They took x-rays (I told them nothing was broken) and said I was fine. They did not wrap my ankle as I had asked and sent me home. I thought they must be very busy but when I went to the bathroom, there was Scott playing on his phone. I actually drove myself home because nobody cared once I was released. I dont feel any better and now I have a huge hospital bill. Terrible experience when you are already scared and alone.
