I have been going to Dr. Harmer for 20 years now since I first had reading glasses in the 4th grade. I always feel welcome and at home when I its time for my annual visit. The staff and Drs make you feel like family with their friendly demeanor. I no longer live in town and I am sure I could find a closer eye Dr to where I live but thanks to late and Saturday appts I choose to stick with them where I am most comfortable. This past May I had Lasik done thanks to Dr Harmer and Dr Fox at the TLC surgery center. I was a little nervous at first but Dr Harmer was there for me the entire way and made me feel comfortable and worry free. It was by far the best thing I have done and could see great without contacts finally! I highly recommend Carteret EyeCare to anyone who is in need of excellent eyecare and client service.

I first met Dr Harmer for a consultation for laser eye surgery in 2005. He was recommended to me by my uncle, who also had laser eye surgery and was cared for by Dr Harmer. There are not enough positive words to use about the man. He truly cares about his patients and their eye health. He seems to remember me at each exam, but could just take really good notes in his files! Either way, I feel like he takes a personal interest. I have never been pressured to take exams or tests not covered by insurance, of course they are recommended, but his staff is fine with taking No as an answer. His staff is extremely knowledgeable and efficient. Since first meeting Dr Harmer, I had moved, and now make a 60 minute drive just for my annual eye exams. There is no other doctor I trust more than him.

I have been seeing Dr. Harmer since May of 2006. I had laser eye surgery with TLC and Dr. Harmer was my f/u physician before, during and after my laser surgery. The care, expertise, professionalism and kindness I experienced in the office were one-of-a-kind. Dr. Harmer saw me on many occasions for emergency visits and he was awesome. He answered all my questions and he was always available if I had any concerns. He always took his time with me, not like some other doctors who just want to rush you out and get their money. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

FANTASTIC! Dr. Harmer is extremely nice and knowledgable. I felt very comfortable as soon as I walked. He answered all my questions without me even asking! He explains everything thoroughly. Both the receptionist were really nice! I dont remember their names but they were both great. I waited less than a minute! He gives you ample time and definitely goes out of his way to accommodate you. I would definitely recommend Dr. Harmer! You cant go wrong with him. I am glad I found him and will definitely recommend family and friends to go to him.

I have been a long time customer. When you think about the type of doctor you want, and all the qualities you would want- experienced, knowledgeable, professional, easy to talk to, always available to help and trustworthy- thats Dr. Harmer AND his staff. I have gone through the phases of needing glasses, moving to contact lenses, and eventually away from needing lenses at all, and Dr. Harmer has been my trusted partner all the way. My eye exam was very comprehensive and I always feel that my eyes are getting the best care they could possibly have. Dr. Harmer is very thorough and explains the results of the eye tests so I could understand them. He is easy to talk to and makes the visit comfortable. The staff is wonderful and helpful, especially Nora. She and the staff are very courteous and conscientious. Ive been going to Dr. Harmers for years and wouldnt go anywhere else.

Ive used both doctors and they both were very great and knowledgable. They are very patient with you and answers all your questions without you feeling rushed. I purchased my glasses and contacts from Carteret Eyecare...the staff there is also VERY nice and professional. They work with you until the job is done. I have used Dr. Harmer since 1985 and have always found him to be concerned about my diabetes and eye care. He has been instrumental in saving my eye from a detached retina as well as seeing me through cataracts. I highly recommend Dr. Harmer and his practice.
