I cant say enough great things about Dr. Hornstein and his staff. I was brand new to the area and brought my cat in because I thought he might have a virus or something else minor. Unfortunately, he was a very sick cat, and Dr. Hornstein spent a lot of time both with me and my partner (on the phone) telling us what was wrong, how critical he was, and what are options were. He let me spend a lot of time crying in one of his exam rooms and arranging for me to take Toby to Northstar, a specialty animal hospital. Dr Hornstein treated me like he knew me and my pet forever and was kind and gentle. I know I took up much of his time and office space, but he never made me feel like I was doing so. Naturally, Dr. Hornstein will be my vet (actually my animals vet) from now on. I recommend him as highly as anyone can. He is truly a wonderful, caring man and vet.

I have been to a number of animal hospitals throughout my life and can say with confidence that Monroe is the best. Everyone there is kind, professional, and great at what they do (Ive never seen anyone as good with cats as Carolyn). My pup was in bad shape because of his kidney disease and needed to be monitored over the course of a few days. Dr. Hornstein gave me detailed updates twice a day (even returning after closing to check on him), sent through every test result, and even consulted with colleagues at other hospitals. I have never met a doctor as thorough or communicative as Dr. H. If you want the best care for your pet, bring them here.

Dr. Hornstein and the rest of his staff are amazing! Ive taken my 2 bunnies to a few different vets but this one is by far the best. Their office is clean, and the receptionists are so sweet, helpful, and professional. My bunnies are very skittish but Dr. Hornstein and his staff were super gentle with them and made them feel comfortable. Dr. Hornstein spayed my first rabbit and did a fabulous job, she recovered in no time! I highly recommend taking your pets here, they will be very well taken care of. What a great place I have a very large fresh girl. And I have to say Dr. Hornstein is wonderful with her, and she seems to respect him. I was with my previous vet for over fifteen years, So starting with a new vet is not the easiest thing to do. I am grateful for this hospital. The staff is wonderful and the Dr has a way with the animals.. I am not one to put reviews out there but this I had to do. Yes I will continue to tell everyone where to go. Dr. Hornstein and his staff are absolutely amazing. Unlike some of my other experiences with Vets in NJ, this one is state-of-the-art, clean, and above-board on every level. Every visit is extremely comprehensive. The Dr. takes time with you and your pet and explains every detail so you can make informed decisions. When I had a ferret that needed a certain medication my old vet stopped getting for me, Dr. Hornstein called other states to find it for me. Well, he did find it for me, and my pets became his patients. Hes been great with them. His staff is super nice and I recommended his office to many neighbors and friends.
