We were referred to Dr. Maniar and Rockaway Animal Hospital after a desperate plea on FB for prayers for our baby Harlei. We took her to our vet on 3 separate occasions over a 10-day period, x-rays, blood work and changes to pain medication and she just kept getting worse. We were upset and frustrated that they had no answers. She was seen for the 3rd time on Saturday but by Sunday night she was screaming in pain. I had never had an animal scream in pain. I was crying, my children were crying and I didnt know what to do. Our vet was closed and there was no way to get in touch with them. I posted a plea on FB and a friend reached out and told me about Dr. Maniar. She called him on our behalf and he called me right away! This was before they were 24/7 facility and even though we were not current patients. He was SO kind and SO empathetic to our situation - he could hear the kids and I crying. He calmed me down and after giving him all of her symptoms and telling him what the other vet had given her, he assured me that she would be ok for the night. He agreed to see her first thing the next morning. We brought her in and she was admitted for pain management - what a relief that our little girl would finally be comfortable! The office was wonderful - they called us throughout the first day with updates and throughout her stay. They assured us that she was comfortable and being loved and it made leaving her there so much easier. The day we picked her up was wonderful. Not only were we happy to have her coming home but by then she had become so comfortable with the staff she was running around the office like she owned the place! It was wonderful for us to see first hand that she really had been loved by the staff and she was just fine. They werent just telling us that - she was a happy girl! She has since been diagnosed with Cushings Disease (not the original problem) but Dr. Maniar caught it before she had the typical symptoms and saved her life! We learned that without the diagnosis we would have lost her within a year! However, she is on medication daily and her blood work is better today than it was when we first started seeing him - we are SO pleased and so thankful! Our family wouldnt be the same without her. We live in Sussex County but drive to Rockaway because the care there is the best! If you want the best for your animals - go see the wonderful staff at Rockaway Animal Hospital. You will NOT be disappointed!! Thank you Dr. Maniar and Rockaway Animal Hospital for the wonderful care you provide our fur babies and their families!

Rockaway Animal Hospital (RAH) is run by the only Veterinarians I would take my pets to. In fact, if they ever retire I dont think Ill ever get another pet because I wont have the piece of mind I do now knowing their care is in such good hands. I think the most important point that should be emphasized is the Vets at RAH continually demonstrate that their primary responsibility is the care of their patients not the management of a business or the attainment of profit which is sadly and obviously the case at other facilities. And, that they carry out that care with a professionalism, technical competence and knowledge and compassion unrivaled anywhere in any medical facility this reviewer has ever experienced. With our pet being a patient at RAH we know that we are getting the best 24/7 (including emergency) care possible and, perhaps most importantly, that our pet will experience the same degree of personal attention and positive environment that they receive at home. Indeed, when we have to board our pet for any reason, we would prefer to leave them at RAH over even a family members of friends because we know that she is in the best hands at RAH. Even the vet techs and other staff are the friendliest in the business and it is clear how much they enjoy their jobs taking care of animals. Our dog has had numerous health issues and time after time the Vets at RAH have always known exactly how to treat her; all of our questions were always answered thoroughly and thoughtfully (no matter how many we had); we were treated like patients not ATM machines and this has helped foster a trust between us and our Vets that leaves us feeling 100% confident that when we leave our pet in their care she is going to be okay. (As a matter of fact, we suspect our dog might like being at the Vets more than being home) For all the reasons listed above, if I had to move I would drive hours to take my pets to RAH because I know I would not be able to get the same care anywhere else. Indeed, in my neighborhood, every person Ive encountered who goes to RAH has nothing but stellar praise for the Vets who work there. I can say with absolute certainty that anyone who gives RAH less than 5 stars is not giving these vets the credit they deserve and their reviews are irrelevant and erroneous.

Most caring and compassionate veterinarians in Morris county. Mainly because of their staff, always pleasant and courteous. The vets, explain everything, they make the entire experience easy on you, however pleasant for the animals. Each animal is comforted and never stressed. Where as so many, "man handle" your animals in front of you and even worse when they take them in the back.. Here, for the first time ever, my dog loves the vets and staff. My dog has had severe medical problems all her life and is 10 years old. 3 different vets in that span, not only was I ripped off, my dog stressed and afraid, but misdiagnosed all along... Was told about Rockaway and went 8 months ago. The first visit, found out what they thought, testing showed it and treatment began. For 10 years, 3 different vets and thousands of dollars, 1 visit and new treatment, and my dog is finally comfortable!! Her senior years will now be easy on her and our family. Two other outstanding reasons, the cost...The charges are easily 10% less than any other around, and not only that, the services are much more than what others have to offer. The other, is they assist so many local shelters and towns, I dont know of any others that will go out of their way for an after hours emergency. They also offer adoptions, they do this on their own, where every other vet I encountered will not offer or help. The people of Rokaway Animal Hospital are the greatest by far. See for yourself, compare and I hope you have as great as an experience as I have. If not for you, do it for your pets!!!

We have been coming to RAH for almost 20 years, since before the current team purchased the practice. While we liked the previous vets, the new owners are terrific. You will be hard pressed to find a more caring and competent practice. The husband and wife team of Drs. Maniar and Gannon are kind, compassionate and competent. Several times, they would end up sitting on the floor at eye level with our dogs like it was the most natural thing in the world. Even before they became a 24 hour facility, one or the other would often stay overnight to attend to one pet or another and it wasnt uncommon to get a call late into the evening. While I sometimes (my wife claims "often") grumble at the cost of various services (remember when a pay pay phone call cost a nickel? I do), they are very competitive with other vets in the area and are more than willing to provide prescriptions to on-line pharmacies. The other staff are great as well - dont think Ive ever seen a frown or heard an angry word although Im sure it happens from time to time.
