There are good animal hospitals. There are great places. And then theres Wayne Animal Hospital. With three hounds that we call our own, were no strangers to them. The waiting room can get crowded on a Saturday morning. The decor is definitely 1980s. You might have some extra fur on you after you leave if you sit on the floor. This is a working place; its not for show. Heres the kicker: none of that matters because Dr. Jones and Dr. Steele, along with the staff, are aces. They miss nothing with their routine exams: thorough, but quick. They care about your animals comfort, even when the uncomfortable is unavoidable. But where this Animal Hospital really shines is when you have a real, real problem. They do not give up. They leave nothing to chance. They are *that* good.

My dog had an adverse reaction to a rabies vaccine this past Saturday and when I called Dr. Stetlers office for help I was told that I could not be seen because my name was not on "THE LIST". I was told to go to Caldwell, which by the way, was WONDERFUL in treating my sick dog. This was the second incident where my dog was snubbed. On a Saturday appointment, when I was the first of the day to be seen I waited over one and a half hours until the vet mozied on in after a night of partying. She openly admitted, with no remorse, she couldnt get out of bed and thats why she was late. DONT GO THERE!!!!

We have been going to Wayne Animal Hospital since 1999 and two generations of dogs. Its a great practice - reception is organized, friendly, and fast. Dr. Stetler is one of those lucky people who clearly works in a field he loves as every time he sees you and your animal, you feel like you are speaking with a friend who happens to be an expert in all things animal. One of our dogs needed surgery and she came through better than ever. Doesnt look fancy, their website looks like it was put up because it was a thing to do, but the care is whats important.

Dr. Stetler is professional and makes you feel like family. The waiting room may be in need of an update, but friendly staff and great service more than make up for it.
