I was admitted to the dual side for mental and drug abuse. I attempted suicide after drinking too much alcohol. I was also committed to bridgeton crisis in the past, the only reason I rated 3 stars Is because this place is far superior than bridgeton. The food is better, the facility is cleaner etc. being able to smoke cigarettes also helped me relax. Intake was great!! I was admitted to regional hospital initially for treatment for a Tylenol overdose. They stuck me over 50 times causing severe bruising, Hampton hospital documented and took pictures of my bruising and reported regional. I also cut my wrists and was highly embarrassed the nurse who gave me medication and treated my wounds was wonderful and gentle. ALL OF THE NIGHT NURSES WERE TERRIBLE!! They were rude and heartless. I was a nursing student and worked at a hospital on the PCU (heart floor) there was a 40 something year old man going through alcohol withdraw having a heart attack in the hallway. I saw him sitting on the floor and asked him if he was ok, he could barely speak, so I took his pulse and informed the nurse I thought he might be having a heart attacks they screamed at me for touching him and told me I didnt know anything. I argued with them until they did an ekg, what a surprise?! He was having a heart attack and that poor man could have died. I had to stay 6 days longer because of the incident. They also wrongly admitted psychiatric patients into our area. One man was hearing voices and telling people he saw demons another man kept trying to touch and stare at a girl who was a rape victim. So its clean, the food is good but most of the staff is terrible. I also came in with weed roaches in my purse, and I got to leave with them 14 days later, good job searching my things. Good thing it was heroine. Im also not an alcoholic or drug addict. I suffer from depression and anxiety attacks. Liquor triggers suicidal thoughts after hearing NA stories I will never drink again.

Very helpful for dual diagnosis patients like myself that suffer from depression et cetera and substance dependency, they even have detox protocols for opiates and alcohol/benzos. If you go there and take your stay there seriously and with an open mind to helping yourself, you can get a lot out of your stay. You get to see several professionals including general practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed human resource case workers, and a full nursing staff all there to make sure all your needs are met with mental illness diagnosis, medications, and setting up an individualized treatment plan including aftercare, which they also provide via day program and iop/op programs, which they provide transportation to. Most of the MHAs, the nursing staff, and doctors are all very willing to assist you at any time and accommodate you, within reason. The staff facilitate very informative groups on addiction and mental illness, they even facilitate several other approaches in groups involving art, music, and crafts or a trip to theyre small library selection and they are a lot of fun. The food at the cafeteria is really good, you can eat as much as you want and you still get to go in day program and iop. They also provide you with snacks all day. You dont have to have had an involuntary psychiatric crisis, you can sign yourself in voluntarily. I recommend this place, especially to my fellow addicts who are sick and suffering. Who knows, this place could be the start of a new life for you. Why give it a shot, what have you got to lose? Versus what have you got gain?

I recently spent over 4 weeks here.First you are assigned a therapist but you rarely sit down with one to get a picture of why you are there in the first place. They give you coping skills and when you say you are using that them there must be nothing wrong with you you are ready for discharge. I was told I had a review date but not told it was my discharge date.I find that very poor comunitication.I was basically put out feeling worse then when I came in.When a grown adult has been suffering with depression their whole life it isnt that easy to change over night. The report to my Dr stated that I refused to use the coping skills provided to me at Hamton house. When you have severe depression like do and the feelings of hopeless its hard to see the light.I find the statement very callous and ignorant. I am learning that not everyone working in the mental health field cares or understands the patients trusted in their care. All the staff did was complain the air condition didnt work.Maybe they should use the coping skills that they give to the patients.

Last night I called this facility at 3:57am because I was contemplating suicide and I wanted to inquire about the in-patient program and what it would entail. First I was accused of making a prank call. Then once clarrified that I was serious I attempted to ask questions about what committing myself would entail. Instead of answering them this women asked me if I was serious about treatement. In response I told her that I did not know whether or not I wanted to be committed because I did not understand what I would be agreeing to. She then told me to call back when I was serious so I hung up the phone. This facility in my expirience highers staff that does not understand how to approach mentally ill people. I put this here not just because I was displeased but because an embarrassment like this could potentially prevent others from seeking treatment as it did with myself. I will deal with my problems on my own because I am not convinced that this facility has any more competence than myself when it comes to approaching mental illness.

I was a patient in Hampton House and I can say that there were both good and bad things about it. Starting with the good I can say that the majority of staff members are kind and considerate to you and your needs. The kitchen staff were kind and helpful and provided good and healthy food options daily for every meal. The bad would have to be the sleeping conditions, I would hardly consider the pillows they provide to be anymore than warm ice packs. The only notably bad staff member would have to be a man in the outpatient division named Art. He made my time as well as many other patients dreadful. His two partners Dianna and Latrel were both amazing and they were what made outpatient doable and I can honestly say I enjoyed my sessions with them. Overall this place is a good way to get yourself together despite the minor difficulties and one bad staff member.

it was the best place Ive been for inpatient care (better than Carrier and UBHC), though thats not setting a high bar. They actually had good therapy, which was the main difference. Some of the groups were amazing and actually helped to deal with my issues. However, some staff members werent very considerate when it came to my eating disorder. They also kinda gave up on certain rules, but that was in our favor. They did show a movie largely based on suicide though, which i have no idea why they let us see. But over all, it was good and Im just nitpicking. I did end up going inpatient again a month after i got out of Hampton though, so it really didnt help a ton. Also, I was in the adolescent ward and we had meals with the adult and geriatric wards. And from what i saw at meals, the staff members seemed to treat the patients a lot worse.
