First off let me tell you that Im from Miami, and in Miami your kids go to your Cuban pediatrician whom you went to until you were 24 and were pretty much forced to leave because it was getting weird! Moving to a new city is hard, even a city like Asheville. But, you know what isnt hard? Choosing French Broad Pediatrics. The doctors are amazing and the staff make you feel like family. I am one of those parents who thinks a bug bite may be MRSA and bout of diarrhea merits a trip to the ER. I am not exaggerating! Parenthood can make you feel crazy, but French Broad Pediatrics restores sanity. They never make me feel like my questions are ridiculous, nor do they feed into my drama. Its the perfect balance we all need on this crazy road of parenting. Dr. Carlisle loves my kids and they love her. She helps me keep them healthy and doesnt judge my idiosyncrasies. My little girl grabs her pretend otoscope, puts it in my ear and says, "I look for puppy dogs!" If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then the innocent flattery of a two year old girl is an amazingly authentic thing. Weve only seen Dr. Tempelton once, but my daughters exact words were, "I like Dr. "Tempiton", he funny!" Toddlers have a beautiful way of cataloging people. So, from the moment you walk in and see Tabithas smiling face, to weight fever and symptom checks with all the lovely nurses, to thorough caring time with the doctor to checking out and getting any sticker they (or you) want... its a pretty amazing experience at French Broad Pediatrics! When you become part of French Broad Pediatrics, you are never just a number, you are family.

He may be a good doctor, but he treats his employees worse than he would treat a dog. My daughter worked for him for several months before discovering she had cervical cancer. She applied for Family Medical Leave and brought the paperwork to Dr. Templeton (which he denies). He didnt tell her she was ineligible, since he doesnt have the required number of employees, and while she was in treatment for cancer (30 daily radiation treatments, plus chemo, which made her very ill for many weeks) he terminated her employment, without telling her; she found out at the pharmacy when they refused to pay for her medications. Even though she stayed in contact with him, and sent a text with her planned date of return to work, he never responded to any of her messages, phone calls, etc., and let his management company deal with her by regular mail using an incorrect address, which she had previously corrected with his office manager (whom he also subsequently fired). He also denied her claim for unemployment insurance, claiming she was only supposed to have been on leave for 2 WEEKS! This guy is a scumbag!

While Dr. Templeton and the nurses at this practice are wonderful, it is not enough to make up for the state of the office. Mainly, it is dirty and unsafe for small children. There is a trash can that is readily accessible for our toddler to reach her hands in and knock over (which she tried to do repeatedly, because thats how toddlers are.) Today at our appointment there was a fake Christmas tree in the corner of the waiting room with glass ornaments on it WITHIN REACH of a childs hands. There were also hooks from the ornaments on the carpet from other children pulling them down off the tree. Total choking hazard. There are no toys and just a few old magazines to entertain them. The patient rooms are bare and not suited to children at all. The floors looked dirty as did the door. Maybe we are just spoiled by our previous pediatricians office which had tons of toys, mirrors and murals for the kids to enjoy, but as much as we like Dr. Templeton we just havent had an enjoyable experience here.

Dr. Keeley Carlisle has been my daughters Doctor since she was an infant:). We love her! She is attentive and funny and genuinely cares about each of her patients, their individuality and their needs:) she provides clear solutions for both parent and child and the staff at French Broad Pediatrics are all wonderful! They make "Going to the Dr." Fun:). "I really like going to see Keely, because she doest wear a scary lab coat and she makes me feel safe. I know I can tell her anything and she alway knows how to make it better". Maddy Andrews, age 11.

Weve been taking our kids here since our son turned 6 months (2.5 years now) and we absolutely love this practice! Dr. Carlisle is our pediatrician there but we love Dr. Templeton too. They are both very thorough and caring. Lots of doctors these days unfortunately dont really listen and seem to just want to move on to the next patient as quickly as possible. But you get their undivided attention here and you truly feel like your needs are met. So glad weve got such amazing pediatricians for our kiddos!

My boys went to Dr. Templeton when he was in private practice in Asheville. (age 0 and 2 back then) We were glad to see he is back in town. Went there the other day for a check up, doctor spent a long time with us, answered all our questions, and was very helpful. Boys were very comfortable with him. (now 10 and 12).

Exceptionally caring and attentive pediatrician. He has returned my calls (personally) and has patiently answered my questions. As a parent of a child who has a complex medical history, (team of thirteen doctors), I can say with confidence this doctor is special and understands medicine, children AND parents. A Godsend.

We love Dr. Templeton! He is wonderful with our son and is very caring! He is patient and always answers any and all questions we have but above all else he is an expectional pediatrician! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful pediatrician and nurses for our son!

Dr. Templeton used to be a hospitalist at Mission and he can handle my childs medically-complicated case - he was the only pediatrician in Asheville we could find who could oversee her routine procedures. And he is a very kind and thoughtful person.

I love coming to the office. I feel like Dr. Templeton is genuinely concerned and cares about my kids and their well being. The girls in the office are great as well. Definitely recommend this office.
