There is a sign that has been posted in the waiting area of their offices about attaining excellence. Their goal is always to have exceeded patient expectations. That means that the quality, quantity, efficiency and cost of their work needs to be better than what Ive experienced at other comparable dentists. It does. Actually I cannot think of a dentist office that comes close to them in excellence. They are always on top of the latest technology which enables them to serve their clients better. Just last week Dr. Phillips told me about technology they now have, that no others have, which eliminates the need for and all the agita associated with those chemical impressions. It enables them to do more precise measurements and have the data to the lab instantly. I have troubles lying way back in the dental chair, thanks to an otolaryngologist in another state who botched two sinus surgeries. His failure created a situation of constant rhinitis, substantial, a constant gagging. I have been shuffled off by other dentists due to the agitation I experience when having to lie back. Not with Dr. Phillips and his staff (Ive not worked with Dr. Schmitt). They welcome me. They accept and accommodate amy trouble I have with respiration rhinitis. I would add that my working career involved understanding and helping people manage leadership, teamwork and organizational cultures. After for than thee decades in that type of work, one develops the ability to spot an organization that is effective and where people work hard and like it. It didnt take me long to recognize that in (then) Dr. Phillips office and staff: the quiet hum, the goodwill, the lack of sarcasm, the friendly efficiency, the shared knowledge, the patience to work with tough cases like me, the technology that supports their excellence but does not dominate their interpersonal acumen, the longevity of staff employment, the neat and clean offices and waiting room that is tailored for their clients and not to save costs. Being their client (and I use that word intentionally to describe a more equal and mutually respectful relationship than patient implies) is a seamless and effective, rewarding experience. Their organization has all the earmarks of one that does that for everyone. I always leave their office looking forward to the next visit. They are indeed excellent and would be very hard to match, if I or anyone actually had any cause to look elsewhere, which I cannot imagine anyone having. It is a pleasure to write a positive review for them.

I came to Dr. Donald Schmitt as a patient who had had an indescribable combination of complex fractures to every bone in the face, and a jaw which had been totally deformed, 42 years before. My situation was basically dismissed as irreparable by every dentist, prosthodontist, and periodontist I encountered over all these years; but I declined to have all the remaining teeth extracted and a removable denture made. This was essentially because the structure of my jaw would have made a denture unbearably painful with each chewing effort. I was fortunate beyond description to find Dr. Donald Schmitt. Dr. Schmitt decided to take on the incredible challenge of enabling me to have functional and comfortable teeth inside my uniquely unbalanced and distorted jaw configuration. He enlisted the services of a periodontist, whose functions were designed and guided by him every step of the way. Between them, many, many necessary functions were implemented. Among these (though they represent only a fraction of these functions) were: Surgically removing sections of gum from one part of the mouth to another (this applied to several sections, and involved complex surgery); adjusting areas of bone by means of surgery, which included sawing and replacing areas of bone; and after many other surgical challenges, finally inserting many implants into the rebuilt (still externally malformed) gums and bones; and designing a temporary version of what would finally be a permanent denture, attached via the implants. Somehow, despite an incredibly misshapen jaw area, I have teeth which APPEAR perfectly normal, and FUNCTION beautifully - with no pain, no limitations in terms of chewing, and --- well --- GREAT JOY. I will insist that NO ONE but Dr. Schmitt could have achieved this incredible level of success!!!! His dedication and focus are beyond the finest.. and his marvelous creativity is really what enabled him to use his skill, patience and devotion to his work!!!! Donald Schmitts achievements merit the recognition and admiration of the entire prosthodontic world!! This is no exaggeration, but merely a presentation of fact.

If there were ten stars to fill in this review, Id fill them all! I dont usually make reviews this long, but in this case I feel it necessary, if those reading it who are looking for good dental help. Its often quite difficult to find a medical doctor who is thoughtful, caring, and has genuine concern of his or her patients, and not just for the treating of their ailments, but also for the patients comfort in the process. When originally needing a dental checkup after several years, I was quite impressed at how Dr. Phillips met all these standards quite thoroughly, as did those assisting him as well. I was particularly impressed at how Dr. Phillips asked me so many questions on our first visit, and very thoroughly checked out my teeth, more than any other dentist Ive met, and I have been to many. But what Ive also enjoyed about coming to Dr. Phillips and everyone working there is their friendliness. I just get a warm feeling from everyone whenever I come over! Ive also been impressed with their ability to make time for me when necessary. Specifically, I had a temporary crown that had cracked. When I called, they were able to make a time for me the next day to come over and get it fixed, and I wasnt even charged!! Along with receiving useful information from Dr. Phillips and his coworkers in taking better care of my teeth as well, their overall work has been outstanding. If youre looking for good quality help for your teeth, I highly recommend Phillips & Schmitt.

Phillips & Schmitt Dentistry The word “lovely” is not a term people usually associate with a dental office, but in the case of the Phillips-Schmitt dentistry practice, the word fits. Their practice uses state-of-the-art methods in all their treatment, and covers all aspects of dental health -- including extreme repair. In 2012, because of having severe tooth erosion, I was referred to Donnie Schmitt for extensive restoration work. In any team of people I come into contact with, I look at both at the degree of professionalism and kindness they offer their clients, and also how the team members offer this to each other. Because of the number and duration of my sessions with Donnie Schmitt and his team, I gained an extended view of this offices inner workings. In all of my sessions - - both short and lengthy - - at this office, I found everyone to be consummate, expert professionals in all aspects of their work: from initial exam, through treatment proposal & consultation, to all of the actual restoration work – which, by the way, turned out wonderfully. Everyone was always extremely kind, caring, and patient - - with both me and each other. They knew how to make what could be an almost-unendurable ordeal into an experience that - - believe it or not - - approached fun.

Every visit I have had at Phillips & Schmitt has been comfortable and keeps me going back. This is not to say that there is pressure to return only healthy encouragement to make sure my mouth is not at risk. I have definitely done the damage myself. This is what lead me to Dr. Philips. I had been frustrated with my past experiences at various dentist offices and was refferred to him by a friend. Since I have made the change I have been nothing but thankful for his skill and expertise. I go in without nerves and come out comfortably happy with the work that has been done. This includes mostly crowns and typical cleanings. I find this practice to be up to date with current research, technology and dentistry practices. All that Dr. Phillips offers and implements makes me feel as though he is truly there to make sure that the patients are well taken care of, are healthy and feel at ease. Not only is Dr. Phillips great, but so is all the staff there. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. It is a great practice to be a part of.
