I had been a client for many years of Dr. Cecil Pless and staff, who were truly a dedicated and outstanding practice in Asheville. When Dr. Pless announced that he would be retiring and was interviewing for a new doctor with the credentials, personality and skills to assume responsibility for his patients and practice, I felt I had lost the best dentist Id ever had and was skeptical. What a relief and reassurance to learn that his incredible staff were staying with the practice and would be a part of the vetting process for this "new" doctor and he/she would have to gain their blessings, as well! Dr. Jeffrey Efird joined the team in a seamless transition, bringing with him the professional and gentle care that I had known, as well as the training, skills, talent and enthusiasm. Dr. Efird now cares for our entire family, from routine teeth cleaning to cosmetic repairs, overlays and crowns and his work is impeccable. You will notice that Dr. Efird stays current with emerging techniques, products and materials to provide the best care available. He is a patient listener and a perfectionist with a critical eye for detail. His patients are his legacy of achievement. You will find that each staff member greets you with warmth and smiles and is poised and professional. You could not find a more friendly,easy to work with or efficient Front Office staff. All dental hygienists, assistants and doctors have mastered the technique of a "painless dental experience," and you will leave their office feeling that they truly care about you as a patient and care about the experience you receive. They have recently added another great dentist to the practice, Dr. Dimsdale, who seems equally as dedicated to quality care. You will be thoroughly impressed with this practice.

after spending 30+ years avoiding dentists..an abscess forced me into searching for a dentist. Google led me to Carolina Mountain Dental and Dr. Efird. I called and explained my situation and my history(or lack thereof) to Kathy and she got me right in. i cant begin to describe my fear and how much at ease the staff made me. Stephanie, Vicky and Dr. Efird were so positive and optimistic and most of all non judgmental of my poor decisions and set forth a plan. I have had many broken teeth pulled, comprehensive cleaning by Jessica(the best) and some fillings and a crown and am happy to report a healthy mouth and a more confident smile!!! Most of all, i can be a good example to my two daughters!!! Do not hesitate...call them and get on your path to good oral care!!!

No one "wants" to go to the dentist! 0 stars, right?! But, since we all have to, youd be hard-pressed to find a better group! So 5 stars, and deservedly so! Dr. Efird and staff are exceptional. They keep on top of the latest equipment improvements and practices, so that you can keep your teeth and have them looking their best. Dr. Efird is a perfectionist, too, and, believe me, that is something you want in a dentist. On one occassion, Dr. Efird came in on a weekend to fix a tooth for me that was causing pain. Name another doctor who would do that! Jessica, the hygienist, is terrific. Kathy and Vicky, in the front office, are always cheerful and professional. Theyll brighten your day even if you have a cavity! Trust me. You will thank me later.

Going to the dentist has never been a problem for me.. I have had a lot of dental work done in the past at other offices and not one comes close to Carolina Mountain Dental. Starting from initial contact with front desk girls Vickie and Kathy and ending when you walk out, the whole experience is outstanding. Jessica has been my Hygienist since I found this practice four years ago.. She is unbelievably incredible. I have had several procedures done so I have also worked with Stephanie and Michelle and they are as wonderful. Last but not least is Dr. Efird. His work is impeccable and very precise. As others have said, he never encourages unnecessary procedures. I cant say enough good things about this entire team.

I have been with Dr. Efird and his team for years. (By the way, there is no turn over in this office. Everyone seems happy to not only care about patients, but to be working with one another.) Dr. Efird has helped me over time to make dental decisions for the health of my teeth, always considering my budget. Recently I had some major work on some cracked front teeth. Dr. Efird worked tirelessly for hours to get things just right...color & size, such as an artist might. I really appreciate that and am so happy with the result that I wear everyday! I have never felt rushed or pressured in Dr. Efirds care. Everyone here is genuine in their patient care.

I have attended this practice for many years. They have consistently maintained all facets of the business at the highest standards. They maintain the established schedule so one knows you will "get in as scheduled" and at the same time be assured that the attention you receive will not only be at the highest standard but will be delivered in a friendly and open manner. This is a well-run, friendly practice. The staff all know each of their roles and can be depended upon to answer any inquiry with professional and knowledgeable answers to any question. Jessica is particularly qualified and makes a visit to the "dentists office" a pleasure.

We have been going to Carolina Mountain dentistry for more than 10 years. Our hygienist Jessica is absolutely the best. I originally brought my children to a pediatric dentist and then switched and started bringing them here. Everyone is so kind and caring- from the front office staff, to the hygienist, to the dentists. The kids get excited to come see Jessica and think it is so much fun to go to the dentist!! One of the children had to have a procedure done and the staff did an excellent job ensuring that she was not traumatized by the experience. I would highly recommend them for your entire familys dental care.

I highly recommend Carolina Mountain Dental. Dr. Efird and Jessica, my hygienist, have taken care of me since I moved to Asheville 5 1/2 years ago. They are both professional as well as genuinely caring. Just today Jessica told me that I made her day, that my mouth is a textbook picture of health. Her kind words motivate me to keep that picture perfect and who doesnt love to make someones day. Vickie, the Office Manager is knowledgable, welcoming and maintains a professional atmosphere. I really dont mind coming to the dentist.

I had some serious crown work in the last few months and the quality and professionalism of all is amazing. We actually have fun every time we meet.....true! I have been a patient of Dr. Efird for 14 years. The entire staff at Carolina Mountain Dental is great and treats the patient like family. Jessica has been my hygienist from the start and shes the best! They have modern offices, operate on schedule, and keep up with the latest advances in dentistry. From basic check-ups, to crowns, to some involved cosmetic bridge work, Dr. Efird has always been thorough and done top quality work. Ive never thought of going anywhere else, and I recommend them without hesitation.
