The Gentle Dentist Patient: Michel Morin On May 9, 2016, I had a dental examination, teeth cleaning, x-ray and was assigned to Dr. Kandy DMD. He checked every corner of my mouth and teeth. I mentioned to the doctor that I would be going on vacation to Canada on June 15, 2016 and would it be any problem because I would not like to be in pain during vacation. The Doctor assured me that I would be all right and he had 21 years of experience. He removed a few teeth and made an imprint of my jaw during different appointments. I did mention to the Doctor that the imprint did not feel right. I was sent home with a new appointment. On June 10, 2016, I had an appointment to have the new teeth inserted in my mouth. The lab did not have the teeth ready, so I went home with no teeth to try for the weekend before my vacation. On Monday, June 13, the lower partial and the full upper were put in. They still didn’t feel right or comfortable. I was sent home and told to come back Tuesday 6/14/16 for a checkup. To my surprise, Dr. Kandy was not there to check the new dentures. I told the assistant that the teeth were too high, so Dr. Lash lowered the teeth and sent me home. That night, my teeth and jaw were hurting a lot. I looked in the mirror and I could see that my natural teeth were pushing my upper denture into my gum. The teeth were so high that my jaw could not close properly and hurt even two hours after the teeth were removed. The morning of June 15, at 6 AM, I called the office to let them know that the teeth didn’t line up properly and I was leaving for Montreal and would call after arriving at my destination. With all that pain and 1700 miles from the office, I did what I could and I was washing my mouth with salt twice a day and putting Oral Anesthetic under the denture to reduce the pain plus taking an Aleve pill every 2 hours. I was told that to see another Orthodontist In Canada, I would have to pay (out of my own pocket) after I just paid “The Gentle Dentist” more than $3400.00! One full month I was on vacation and the only thing I could eat was pasta and soup without too much pain. I missed all the nice food that was prepared. On July 8, I called the office to see the Doctor. I was told he would not be in this Monday, so I had to be in pain for another weekend. Monday, I told the Doctor that the front of my upper jaw seemed to be infected. If I touch each side of my nose, it is very sensitive and the hooks of the lower partial have such a sharp point that I cut my tongue on it. He rubbed his finger on it and said there was nothing wrong that he could see. I had to show him with the partial in my mouth how it was catching my tongue. He took the partial and fixed only that hook. He never checked the other side which had the same sharp point. He checked the infection but never drained it and gave me antibiotics for the next 2 weeks. The teeth will shift to the left if I close my mouth and the back teeth being higher than the front teeth, I could not cut a plain piece of white bread. After 4 months of trying to find the cause of my pain from the lower partial, Dr. Kandy quit and passed me on to Dr. Lash. I paid over $3400.00 to have my teeth taken care of, but got a destroyed vacation, and am still in pain with upper teeth that do not stay in place. I use Seabond to keep them in place and for the pain of the lower partial, I take Orajel to reduce the pain. My new teeth spend more time in the container than in my mouth. Dr. Lash took a new imprint of my lower jaw and did three different adjustments before making the new bottom partial. When he put them in, he knew they were too high but still sent me home to try them for 5 days. I was driving home and not 5 blocks from the office the denture gave me so much pain, I had to stop to take them out. Right now I have no confidence in these Doctors! I did not like being used as a guinea pig! I would like to see what would happen if I fixed their car the way they have me coming back in for over 6 months. Michel Morin

Im so glad to have found The Gentle Dentist! Its hard to choose a dentist and my experience so far with the Gentle Dentist has been great. They did a good job with my initial X-rays and cleaning and the dentist seemed very knowledgeable. I love that my dental hygienist scheduled out my next appointment at a time when she will be there, so I have the same hygienist every time I go! They even helped me sort through my confusion with my insurance providers. If youre looking for a friendly, professional dental office you can trust, Id recommend The Gentle Dentist.

Very blessed to have met Dr. Lash and the entire staff! Very friendly and caring office. Dr. Lash has specialty training, decades of experience and a personable chair side manor which put me at ease. I had a gentle experience getting numb where my back molar had broken and now have a new beautiful tooth I forget is even there. Once I found them, I felt I had discovered one of the best kept secrets of Spring Hill. Thanks Gentle Dentist! (New Port Richey res.)

Dr. Lash and staff are awesome. I have found a dentist and staff that take their time with you and dont rush you along. They take the time to explain everything they plan to do at the start and explain what they are doing while they work. Im very very picky when it comes to dentists doing work on my teeth and they have went above and beyond my expectations. .... keep up the good work.

The ladies are very knowledgeable and professional. The dentist explained everything and made sure to answer any questions I had. They didnt try to force me into an unnecessary extravagant treatment plan, like numerous other places do. I would recommend to anyone looking for a dentist.
