My advice - use as a last resort. Our sweet 9 week old puppy had something, a bug or worm of some sort, on her, being new puppy parents we didnt know what it was and preferred a vet to look at it and removed it. This was actually the third place I called, so it wasnt our first pick anyway. They worked us in that day, they had a few openings. The front desk ladies were very nice, however their work conversation with clients in the waiting room probably wasnt the most appropriate. From the very beginning it felt like a sales pitch. We went in for an emergency and as soon as we walked in the back they shoved the Paws Plan in our face. Then we had to go through when and what vaccines we had given her, we do them and dewormer at home. Our primary concern was getting this thing off of her. The tech informed us that they would do a fecal test on her to check for worms, which we agreed with to make sure she was okay. The tech took her back and came back pretty quickly. That thing on her was a tick. We were relieved but we didnt know what was in store for us. Dr. Kreis came in and started raking us over the coals about everything. She was drilling us on what food we gave her- she recommend the Royal Canine that they sold in the office, if she was always that high energy and if she was then we needed to discuss hyperactivity treatments, if we spent enough time with her, if she slept in the crate, that she was still really mouthy and the way to fix that was to take our hands away- we had tried that, it didnt work, among other things. She was telling us how we needed all these shots for her, knowing we did at home vaccines, she wouldnt tell us if the next one was 6-in-1 or 7-in-1, she kept saying all the medical names for what was in the vaccine so, what Im assuming, we wouldnt know what to do. Basically we left there thinking we were horrible pet owners and thinking we were being judged for 1. having a pure bred lab and 2. training her for what she was actually bred for. They charged us for an office visit to remove the tick and give her a puppy "exam" - if you want to call it that, all she did was listen to her belly and say "she might have worms". They did the fecal test and "found" hookworms so we had to pay for special dewormer, she did say our "at home" wormer should have taken care of them. We were supposed to give her another treatment of dewormer, which we had to buy from them, three weeks after then other three weeks after that have her retested. Three weeks passed and we decided to take her to a different vet to have her rechecked for worms. She tested negative for them. We actually got a puppy exam and she is doing perfectly and for over 50% less than what it cost at ANRVA.

I truly love this vet! I took my cat (who is hands-down the most important thing in the entire world to me) here to check out a little redness in his eye that has been worrying me. Dr. Kreis was so kind and gentle with him, she is clearly an animal lover and a very experienced vet. Whereas most vets weve been to just quickly address the question at hand and send you on your way, Dr. Kreis gave him a thorough exam and listened to my crazy cat lady stories about behaviors that might be relevant to deeper issues. He had a broken front canine that I had been worried about for 5 years, thay other vets said was "probably fine", but when she examined it realized it had to go asap and had probably been causing him a world of hurt. I almost cried with worry when I dropped my cat off to have his tooth removed, but all the staff and vet techs were so incredibly kind and competent, they made me feel like they legitimately cared about my cats well being, not just a paycheck. They called me and kept me informed every step of the way, and gave me price estimates before they did anything. When I picked him up Dr. Kreis was very in depth showing me what they had done and how to take care of him from there. When I left I wanted to hug every person that worked there for caring so much about my cat, and making me feel so comfortable. Ill be taking him here for as long as we live in Boone.

I love it here. My dog was very sick and near death when he was a puppy, and the doctors here were incredibly supportive. I hate it when it feels like a vet is trying to use your panic as a chance to charge you more. The vet my parents see does that. They say we can run 500 tests just to be SURE of everything and the results never reveal anything. When he was sick, the vets here said this is what we can do for him and this is what will help. If you want to, there are other tests we can do but it wont reveal any more and its just more money to spend. I loved that honesty. I have a giant and very difficult dog (a caucasian ovcharka) and they work with us and dont make me feel like a nuisance. Im writing a review because someone complained about getting a sales pitch for the paw plans. Im a struggling college student and the paw plan is a life-saver? I love it. I brush my dogs teeth and clean his ears and I find a way to afford the best food for him--you get the idea. So Im not just going to board him anywhere. I boarded him here for the first time and I was SO anxious about it. When I came to pick him up, he was all tail wags and happiness with the staff which tells me he had a great time. I told them they didnt have to send me updates but they did it anyways and even sent me a picture!

I have heard a lot of bad reviews so was never going to try this place. My dog got very sick and this was the only place that could get her in the same day. I am SO glad that I gave them a shot. I love the staff at the front, they always greet me with a warm welcome. I love the vet techs that help out in the back, they make my dog feel much more at ease. I have seen every vet at this locations and LOVED every one of them. All very friendly, professionally, welcoming, informative, and just seem like they know their stuff. One of the vets went out of his way to get opinions from the other vets to make sure the issue was what he thought. When I brought my dog in for an issue with her skin, I found out all we could do was wait. I was disappointed that I paid for an office visit to find out we could do nothing. The vet then offered, without me saying a word, a free visit if it got worse since nothing was wrong on that visit and then stuck to her word when I brought her back two weeks later (still nothing was wrong, Im just a worrier). They can always get me in and work with me to make everything as easy as possible for me and my dog. I recommend this place to anyone to asks!
