DO NOT GO HERE!!!.. especially to HEIDI GRAVES! Im not one to write reviews or complain but how I was treated was very UNPROFESSIONAL and wrong! They charged me for services that they didnt even do! We tried asking questions during our visit and was given attitude, told comments like: "well I wasnt in your backyard.. I dont know what he got into" .... "I dont want to come in here Monday morning and find a DEAD DOG" I tried reaching out to let the clinic know about my experience. Even sent a letter to each and every vet at this location.. and messaged them on FB and I have yet to get an apology or anyone reach out to me! Apparently they are all about taking your hard earned money. I was visiting from out of town and recently had to bring in my dog Brutus Beefcake because the family had woken up to him in a lethargic state. He looked very weak and dehydrated from not eating. Brutus has always been a healthy dog and Ive never had to bring him in for anything but shots. Dr. Graves took advantage of the situation and manipulated me. Doing just a visual overview of Brutus, I was immediately told that "this is VERY SERIOUS..IM SO SORRY". As she gives me a sad face and looks at me like I’m going to lose my dog, so I began to break down into tears. How is anyone supposed to react or feel when hearing this? Especially when our pets are family to us. . in my case like a child. I was then presented with a $565.11 estimate. Of course I agree to do tests. After all, I was told that it LOOKED SERIOUS. .. Luckily the results came back normal for everything. We then asked about administering electrolytes to see if it would help, Dr. Graves refused and instead highly recommended that we immediately bring Brutus to the emergency room. (BTW.. AN ER THAT THE CLINIC PARTNERS WITH) We tried to ask questions to get some answers or ideas as to what couldve caused Brutus symptoms and we got nothing but very rude smart answers like "WELL I WASNT IN YOUR BACKYARD.. I CANT TELL YOU WHAT HE GOT INTO" But yet, after taking a quick gander at Brutus she was so sure that it was serious. We told her his symptoms. We didnt have to pay $565.11 for someone to tell us that. So why would we have to take him to the emergency room? Especially since we never got a clear explanation of what was wrong. The response we got was "I’m sending you to the ER because I dont want to come in here Monday morning and find a DEAD DOG" Who says things like that??? Needless to say, I decided to take Brutus home. Before leaving, our tech Heather recommended giving Brutus some electrolytes to see if he would feel better. Dr. Graves then agreed and thought it was a great idea. Who has the medical degree? Why would you tell us NO then to later say it was a great idea? After Heather gave Brutus his electrolytes, we left and went to a pet store to get Brutus some NaturVet Pet Electrolyte Concentrate($11) and Beneful wet food ($1.89 for 3 cans), I am happy to say that he is doing much better! His appetite is almost 100%,he is playing with his toys, and is walking around.

Took my 1 1/2 year old Rottweiler to get neutered here. My dog was in perfect health, as all of his medical records indicated, and he was up to date with all of his vaccines. I left my dog post-neutering for bordering there while I was away for work for 9 days. Figured itd be a good idea to leave him there to be medicated and tended to post surgery. Upon picking him up I noticed he was lethargic and a bit slower, which I figured was part of the after-effects of the surgery. I basically got back a different, very sick dog. For starters he contracted kennel cough, which is an obvious indication that the place isnt very sanitary and accepts dogs for bordering who have conditions that potentially infect other dogs around them. My dog was, and still is very lethargic, limping from his front legs and can hardly walk, go up and down stairs or get in and out of the car without my assisting him. I took him to AVS for further testing where he was diagnosed with fluid in his joints. Currently Im spending thousands of dollars to get him tested and treated, but his condition isnt improving. I went from having a very strong, playful, fun loving, perfectly healthy dog, to a dog thats basically now vegetable in a matter of days. Hes obviously contacted some virus or disease while at Kirkman that they want no part because theyre accepting any responsibility for whats happened to my dog while under their care. Basically I paid for a service that was suppose enhance, and possibly prolong, my dogs health and his life overall, but got neither. Unheard of for a 1 1/2 year healthy puppy to go through such a transition in a matter of days while under professional care. This may or may not be a rare case, but not worth experiencing the excruciating pain of seeing your pet deteriorate right before your eyes from a simple procedure like neutering to hardly being able to function. So do the math before considering this facility. Not worth the risk by any stretch.

This is the finest avian practice I have ever found and would recommend anyone in need to this clinic, and nowhere else. They are knowledgable, sincere, and affordable with amazing follow up and bedside manners, and I would not trust my bird to anyone else. I came to the Kirkman Clinic a few years ago on a Saturday afternoon with an emergency. I was cleaning out my birdcage on the patio, let the birds out to stretch their wings, and did not know that when I walked inside and closed the door behind me, that my 15 year old cockatiel was trying to fly in after me. She had flown in from the top of the doorway, and had been caught just as I had unknowingly closed the door behind me. Her head was terribly injured, with one eye socket entirely out, and her skull was cracked. I immediately scooped her up and sped to the nearest vet, who referred me to Kirkman and let them know I was on my way. I came pouring into their office in hysteria (as one could imagine) with my bird in my hands. After quickly evaluating her injury and informing me of the cost, they immediately performed emergency surgery on her, removed the eye, made sure the other was okay, and mended her poor little cracked skull. I am certain that my little Scarlette would never have survived had she landed in any other vets hands. They gave me everything I needed to care for her, patiently explained everything I had questions about (and I ask a LOT of questions..), personally followed up on her recovery, and even compd a follow-up visit and supplies I had needed to make sure her stitches were healing properly (knowing I was a broke college student). I cannot say enough about this clinic and its staff. Scarlette is 19 and counting currently residing in Naples FL, fully recovered, and as affectionate and feisty as ever, thanks to the wonderful care of the Kirkman Vetrinary Clinic. Thank you so much! Sincerely, Lauren F.

First, I think it is VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE that your experience can vary here depending on which doctor you see, and what species of pet you bring in. I think that accounts for why the reviews here are so polarized. Most are 5/5, and I cant say Ive ever had a particularly bad experience at this vet myself. But based on my impressions, I think the variation in different doctors methods at this practice could account for some of the sporadic 1-star reviews. That said, Ive seen a few doctors here for my guinea pigs. My favorite is definitely Dr. Ebner. He has the most gp expertise Ive seen in any vet, ever. Most importantly, his top priority is helping his patients and their humans. He is willing to work with me regarding necessary tests in dire situations, even if Im having trouble affording the cost. He is courteous and informative, and he will not shrug his shoulders at a difficult case if he believes there could still be a route to treatment. He will also consult, if need be, with other doctors he knows, so that he may approach a problem from as many angles as possible. When one of my guinea pigs was dying, he did not give me false hope, but he did explain in detail what was going on and provided me with the means to keep the pig as comfortable as possible. My other pig has ongoing health problems with which Dr. Ebner is helping me. Both of them were/are lucky to be able to see such a compassionate vet.
