I was highly disappointed with this practice today. It was recommended by friends and family so when I recently got a new job and a new insurance I choose this practice for my PCP. Their new patient intake appointments are several months out. From what I remember this appointment is just to meet the doctor and does not include any procedures such as physicals; causing you to make another appointment, take off work again and additional co-pays. I had an emergency today, not ER worthy but definitely something that needed to be taken care of same day and they refused to see me because I was not an "established patient". They recommended that I go to Urgent Care; a $87 copay instead of the $15 copay. They said that they wouldve been able to see me if I was an established patient. This policy is ridiculous in the case of an emergency and not very welcoming. I rather go to a practice that doesnt turn you away and practices more welcoming policies. So if you are thinking of joining this practice and will be needing to make an appointment sooner rather then later, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. Their new patient appointments (only to meet the doctor) are 3 months away!!!!

I have been seeing Dr. McCrary and Durham Internal Medicine Associates (DIMA) for more than two years now. I have a lot of trust issues when it comes to medicine. But for my time and money, Dr. McCrary is thorough and thoughtful. Shes not just trying to shove pills down my throat. I ask about a million questions each time I see her. She answers each one. I cant think of a reason why DIMA would get a one-star rating. Im sorry if others have had bad experiences with this office, but I have not. It sucks to be sick and not cared for. I had that experience in other places, but never at DIMA.

I dumped your company this morning for holding my medication (and my wellbeing) hostage, over not seeing my new doctor yet. One would think that after ten years of taking the same medicine, at the same dose, with Doctor Whelan that your corporation would honor a long standing client and one of your best prior doctors and grant me my prescription. Giving 30 lomotil pills instead of 240 is shabby. Not to mention, the added copays are an unneeded expense. Good riddence Durham Internal Medicine---thanks for damning me to days--long diarrhea and pain. Thanks for the compassion, idiots.

Van Tanner PA-C is amazing! I have been struggling with health issues for quite some time now and have seen several doctors. He is the first one to take my concerns seriously and try to help me. He is easy going and makes you feel that you and your health are VERY important to him. He is very welcoming of me and my family/friends and I greatly appreciate his help. His nurse is also very genuine and kind. She was able to make me laugh and comfort me when I wasnt feeling my best. All-in-all great experience!

Avoid this practice! Yesterday I had pneumonia and tried all day to have my doctor see me and after keeping me waiting all day no one ever called. Their staff and billing office personnel are rude and inept. This group of doctors care little about how their patients are treated and seem to care more about money than about the well being of their patients.

When my Dr. moved to this office I transferred there. They have never been anything but courteous and helpful . I have read some bad reviews on this website but I totally disagree with what it says . The staff there have been very nice to me, I have never had a problem getting an appointment and an usual Dr Carlton Miller is the best!!

My wife and I have been wit Dr Carlton Miller for almost 19 years now. He is the best and most trusted Doctor we ever had. He has save my life on one occasion. I will never go to another Doctor for as long as he will have us as patients ...

I tried on 2 occasions to make an elective new patient appointment. Only got to speak to a message machine and was promised a response within 24 hours. Never heard back on either occasion. Ultimately sought care elsewhere.

WARNING: Their hours are 8 to 5. Their website is wrong. Even the doors to both offices (North Durham and Southpoint) say 8 to 5.
