********Stay away from Dr. Matthew Oettinger*********DO NOT go to Dr. Matthew D. Oettinger, M.D., he is not a good doctor.********* He will kill someone, one day. Stay away from him, please. He dont care about his patients at all. ------Stay away from Dr. Matthew Oettinger-------- My mother said: Dr. Matthew D. Oettinger, is the absolute worst doctor my 80 year old mother has EVER had in her entire life!!!!! Oettinger, -----REFUSED----- to re-fill her "seizure" and "blood-thinning" medication during the snow storm and she was out of her meds. With him, fully knowing that the winter was bad outside and the road conditions were not safe and extremely dangerous. And that she had been in / out of the hospital more than 4 times in the last year. My mother is blind, sits in a wheelchair and can not walk at all. Oettinger, then refused Walmart Pharmacy 3 times request for refilling her medication for 2 weeks. Finally, we had to get the Regional Director Heather to give authorization for her medication to be refilled. As my mothers caregiver since age of 18 years old, I was extremely disappointment/upset with this Dr. Mom has been on seizure meds since 1973 and he knew her not taking her meds for a few days would hurt her. Too include he, refused her blood thinning meds knowing she is common for blood clots. Then after messing up her blood count levels by not providing her proper access to her medication, then Oettinger terminated, the 80 yr old patient because we went over his head to get her medication. Oettinger is such of a very bad doctor! DO NOT let your elderly parents go to him. He will mess then UPPPPPPP!!!! ******Dr. Anayna Sen was the best doctor ever, she cared about my mother, she gave mom hugs, she called to make sure we was doing well on the medication, changes and she made sure she had her medication from June 2013 - July 2014, when "Dr. DONT Let Him Near You - Oettinger" came on board. Worse doctor ever. Simply, I will repeat my 80 yr old mother: Matthew D. Oettinger, M.D. is the worse doctor I have ever met and I am 46 yrs old. Do not take your elderly parents to him, period. I will say thou, the front desk 2 ladies (receptionist) were some of the nicest people you can find, thou. But the nurses, are hateful and rude to say the least and they dont listen and they dont write your current prescriptions down correctly. And they say they called you for appointments setups and they dont. Stay away from Dr. Matthew Oettinger!!

I saw Dr. Oettinger for the first time last week. I found him to be pompous and insulting. He indicated that he didnt think I could follow the protocol necessary for weight loss surgery since Ive been treated for depression. He has NO files on my depression issue which I have successfully overcome with medication and therapy. He even called my bariatric surgeon saying he wouldnt sign a permission for surgery letter indicating that I am able to have the REVISION surgery!! I met with him for 10 minutes and he almost ruined my chances for a lifesaving surgery, I left his office crying. Depression is not incapacitating and as a doctor, he should know this. He even said to me, "you arent bipolar or anything, are you". How humiliating. I reported him to HUMANA and formally required that he NOT have any access, per HIPPA law, to my medical information. If I could have given him less than one star, I would have.

Maybe (hopefully) my opinion will change once I am seen, but judging by the lack of professionalism I received on the phone when scheduling an appointment, I believe this might be one and done for me at this location. Snappy attitude when asked, "Have I been seen here?" I replied, "Not at this location" and her reply was, "So thats a NOso you need to fill out a new patient sheet"...Excuse me miss, but I dont need your attitude; especially when I tell her I prefer "my doctor" whom transferred there and had to backtrack on the new patient sheet.

There have been many changes at Rex Family Practice of Knightdale in the past year. Although Dr. Matthew D. Oettinger is no longer with the clinic, Dr. Michelle Benton is now the medical director. Additionally, Angela Byrd, AGNP and Dr. Scott Younkin have joined the practice. All three take excellent care of their patients!

Dr. Benton is so wonderful! Im very happy with the new doctors and staff here! All 3 providers are amazing--Dr. Benton, Dr. Younkin and the Nurse Practitioner, Angela Byrd. Also, I see reviews about Dr. Oettinger, but he is not at this office anymore.

Calling in for the second time this morning gave up after waiting 3 minutes on hold at9am..... Still on hold trying to schedule an appointment. Wow what should I expect when I go rather lets try another provider who actually staffs the office..

if I could rate zero,,,, incomplete diagnostics , They Put My life in danger, Good thing I went to another medical place a week later , I knew they didnt do enough to help
