I just realized I never wrote a review after my dogs heart worm treatment here in Jun 2016. I originally emailed Smithfield Road to inquire about the heart worm treatment. Dr. Church personally called me to discuss the treatment, what was included in the price, and what to expect post-treatment, etc. He took the time to fully explain everything and answer all my questions and he didnt seem like he was in a rush to get me off the phone. On the day I dropped my dog off, all the staff were very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about me and my dog (I admit I cried a little dropping her off overnight and the staff were very sensitive to my situation). I called the office a few times to check on my dog and the receptionist was very helpful and didnt seem annoyed that I called a few times (lol). When I picked my dog up, she seemed well-taken care of and two of the techs had grown very fond of her. All after-care treatment was fully explained and I left feeling confident about how the procedure had went. I traveled from Apex to Knightdale for this treatment (~45 minute drive) after reading all the positive reviews and speaking to Dr. Church (and their prices dont compare to any other vet office I talked to). Ill definitely return in the future if needed! As some of the other reviews state, the waiting room is small and can get cramped (this wasnt an issue for me at all). The place is very busy with people constantly in and out and the phone constantly ringing; however, I dont feel that the busyness took away from how my dog or I were treated at all. The best part of the story... 6 months after the procedure my dog is heart worm negative!

We have been seeing Dr. Church and others at this Hospital for about a 2 years now. We recently adopted a new dog and brought her in as well; they have been the most affordable and do thorough inspections and really take time to explain things to us. Tonight, I came home from work to see my older dog had gotten his paws on a chocolate bar. I immediately freaked out and started researching online what to do to get him to throw up, but I remembered that they have a vet on call to assist should there be a medical emergency (which I thought this was) and they had the on call vet answer within seconds. Turns out it wasnt as bad as I thought, but it put my mind to ease after talking to someone and being assured he would be ok. I will continue to take my pets to this place and highly recommend them to everyone. EDIT: Another great review: I cant say enough good things about this Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Church is a life and sanity saver. My puppy was rushed there yesterday after getting into a bag of Aleve and they were able to take her and treat her overdose of NSAIDs within 1 minute of arriving. All of the staff are amazing; they treat their pets as their own and remember them. I am very thankful that Dr. Church takes high priority emergency calls after hours. He truly cares about the animals. Highly recommend; everyone should take their pets here.

This place was a blessing and life saver for me. For years my dog went to a vet in N Raleigh. He started having issues urinating and I was told he had a UTI. $400 and two weeks later I took him back and after another $260 I was informed he had stones in his urethra. The surgery was quoted over $2000. That was not an option so I took him to Banfield and the surgery was quoted for $1000. Smithfield vet was the best price and was able to operate in less than 2 days. Due to a lack of information provided from my previous vet, there were complications immediately when the operation began, but they were able to operate and save his life. My little guy is is a 7lb, 11 year old Yorkie and he has since healed. He still has a long recovery as they found additional kidney stones but my only regret is that I had not found this clinic years ago!!!

A friend recommended doctor Church to me and I have been going there for several years. The waiting room is small and they dont have appointments so everyone is gathered in a room together which can be a problem if there are cats not in cages or if there are dogs who dont like other dogs. However the staff will come out and tell you when its your turn if you wish to wait with your dog outside. There are walking areas and rest areas for your animals outside. The prices are very competitive and everyone there is genuinely concerned for the health of the animals. I drive from Wake Forest to Knightdale because the prices here are way too high and the doctors seem more interested in their fees then in the animals themselves. This is not the case at Smithfield Road Veterinary Hospital.

Spent 10 minutes in the incredibly cramped waiting room, had to stand next to the wall with my dog held right up against me to prevent at least 2 other very unhappy dogs in the waiting room from biting her. Not good to put dogs and other pets who arent familiar with each other in such a cramped environment. Plus, there did not to be any system for signing in, etc. Another client came in after me but got in front of me because they didn;t have their pet with them and werent forced to stand against the wall in order to not have their pet attacked. Im a health care provider myself, and these types of things are minor and easily fixable in the grand scheme. But these thing also prevent clients from getting in to see you, so you deserve one star until they are fixed.

I like Dr. Church and his group of vets and assistants. They do the best they can to make quality care affordable. For general care they are very good. I have one dog on an experimental treatment for skin issues and he is responding very well. Two downsides to their practice is 1. They dont take appts. and sometimes they can get busy, 2. Cases which might require more in depth intervention might need to find a more specialized practice. We have learned to adjust to this and have several of our animals going here and others going elsewhere.

This vet is honestly the best priced and caring vet I think anyone could visit. First I took my older dog to get fixed, and it was great! They were able to give me good advice for my dog. Then my worries grew about Heartworms and decided to go up there and get him tested for parasites and heartworms. In just seconds I had an answer that he was heartworm positive, they gave me options of treatment and the prices were great. They even let me see the heartworms myself which I thought was awesome. I would suggest this amazing vet to absolutely anyone.

This vet office is beyond amazing!! Everyone on staff is wonderful and friendly and so helpful!! They are very affordable, especially considering the outstanding care and service I (or my pets I guess!!) receive. They do walk in appointments and I never have to wait. The staff is always very upfront about what needs to be done and how much it will cost and they go out of their way to help you save money and make the best decision about products for you pet. I HIGHLY recommend this place and am so glad to have found them!!
