I just wanted to take a minute to share my most recent experience with CareFirst, specifically Dr. Conley, and commend this practice for their compassion, sensitivity and extraordinary pet care. I had the very traumatic experience of coming across a dog who had been the victim of a hit and run on Falls of Neuse Road this morning. As I made a rapid u-turn to position my car behind this beautiful animal and protect her from the morning traffic, my first instinct was to call CareFirst. I spoke with the on-call doctor, Dr. Conley on his emergency number, and his immediate response was that he was near the office and that he would evaluate the dog immediately. I received a follow-up phone call within 10 minutes from Dr. Conley that this dog had passed away, but that she had a collar, and he would bring her to their office and contact the family. Although my own rescue beagle is a patient at CareFirst, not once did Dr. Conley question if this injured dog was a CareFirst patient, or who would pay for this dogs potential medical bills or his care. His first instinct was to help and then, reach out to this dogs family. As a dog-owner and animal lover, I was overwhelmed with sadness and grief for witnessing this loss today, but Dr. Conley brought me, and I can only presume the family who lost this beloved pet, a bit of peace. I cannot thank CareFirst enough for their kindness and compassion today. However, I am also not suprised considering the extraordinary care my own dog has received from this practice, and the main reason my first instinct was to reach out to them. In fact, when my own dog developed a horrible gastroenteritis while we were on vacation 2 summers ago, I spoke with the on-call doctor describing his symptoms and my concerns re: dehydration. Not only did the doctor that evening spend at least 15 minutes on the phone with me reviewing the clinical history, but followed up with another phone call the next day just to "check in". I feel blessed to be part of the CareFirst community. I hope these anectdotes demonstrate the compassionate care your pet will receive with this wonderful team of doctors.

Today was a sad, sad day for us as we had to say good-bye to our 15-year-old Cockapoo, Oliver. Ollie had developed an inoperable tumor that was getting continuously infected. He was blind in one eye and his hearing was badly diminished. Setting up his appointment a week in advance gave us all time to come to grips with our decision made in consultation with our long-time vet. It was time to say good bye to our little guy and the staff at Complete Pet Care at Falls Pointe helped us through each step in the most caring, concerned and professional manner possible. Starting with a phone call with Beth to schedule our appointment, where Beth took the time to explain everything that would be done to help Ollie and us through this difficult time; to arriving at Complete Pet Care on the morning of our appointment the staff at CPC were wonderful. Dr. Amy Fear guided me through the steps she was taking in the most compassionate and dignified way possible. Hours later after having my final moments with Ollie we received a beautiful basket of flowers from the staff at CPC extending their condolences to our entire family. We have never experienced such a compassionate, caring team as those that we met at Complete Pet Care at Falls Pointe. They were a true blessing to me and my family on this difficult day.

Jess and I would like to thank the people at Falls Pointe for providing a lifetime of fantastic care for our dog Photon. I brought her to Dr. Conley as a 5-month-old stray puppy, and over the next 14 years, he along with everyone at the hospital were instrumental in helping us maintain her good health and overall welfare. Dr. Conley is an amazing surgeon, rebuilding her damaged knee, removing suspicious (to me, anyway!) lumps and bumps, and performing delicate eye surgery- all to great success. Another big favorite of Photons was Paul Booms, who provided her with expert laser therapy. Not only did she shower him with dog kisses after each treatment (ample evidence that he made her feel better), he became her favorite reason in the world to get in the car. Paul also came with Dr. Thames when it came time to say goodbye to our beloved girl, and we can never thank them enough for insuring her comfort and treating her and us with such dignity, compassion, and respect. So, thank you for being her home away from home when needed, our doctors, pet counselors, and most importantly, our friends, and we will be back when another pair of loving eyes with four paws adopts Jess and me. My sister (who lives in Charlotte, but travels to Raleigh to take her dog to Falls Pointe) has been telling me how great this place is for a couple of years now. Ive been lucky that my precious puppy, Tyson (who isnt so much of a puppy anymore!), has been healthy over the last couple of years. Earlier this week, however, we werent so lucky and Tyson ended up with a pretty painful injury. I took him in and he was cared for by the amazing team of Stancy and Dr. Thames. I couldnt be happier. Dr. Thames patiently explained Tysons injury to me, what our options were for treatment, and how they could be of help in the future. Stancy is a smiley, bubbly force of positivity - you cant help but smile and feel at ease around her! Fred has also taken care of Tyson during his last two rounds of laser therapy and has been wonderful, as well. Everyone was so fantastic and sweet, and Im just so grateful that I have a place to take Tyson where they seems to care about him just as much as I do!

My cat Firefly wasnt feeling well. She havent eaten for several days and couldnt whole down her food. He was dehydrated and possible kidney failure for a 12 year old cat.. I was working out of town when it happen. When the Vet in Eastern Carolina suggested taken her to Raleigh, I decided to call my regular Vet. at Pet Care Animal Hospital, where I been taking my pet dog and cat to for many year. They went out of their way to ease my concerns and I was able to make an appointment in a few hour. Dr. Amy Fear address the issue and diagnose the issue properly. My cat Firefly felt better and started eat that evening. I had a follow up call with Dr. Fear the next morning and now the cat well at home in Raleigh with the family. Thanks to Dr. Fear my family member will be around for a few more years.

I called them in the morning asking for advice about my cat. I had never been there before or talked to anyone there. They were so understanding and answered all of my questions without hesitation. They gave me an appointment within the hour and gave my cat a thorough examination. They even waived the 1st time new patient fee. My cat was surprisingly comfortable there and they were sweet and gentle with her. I arrived there upset and worried and left there confident and comfortable with my new doctors. They have quite a few doctors in this group. The waiting room had such a soothing atmosphere with a huge salt water fish tank that was so intriguing. It was a pleasant experience and I recommend them highly. They turned a stressful day into a happy experience.
