This place from the beginning was incompetent. First we filled out the request form to board our dog, talked to the front desk girl, faxed our dogs records and then after we set reservations the next day we were called to see if we wanted to make reservations for boarding. So we thought, it happens, we went through the same steps and faxed the records. After we thought everything was taken care of we were called again and told they did not have the records, so we sent them again. When we finally got that taken care of and boarded our dog. The facility looks nice, but the people working there are dumb, and extremely pretentious. However, my wife and I were in a hurry so we figured we would just have to trust that it was a good facility. We boarded our dog for less then 24 hours (Actually only 12 hours), and when we picked her up we were told it had been two days of boarding and we had to pay that. We were furious! We tried to explain there must of been a misunderstanding on drop off and pick up times - they did not care and charged us! So, we explained to them we would never use there services again. On another note, our dog was bitten in the ear or scraped it while she was there and we had to go out and get antibiotics for her. Long story short, this place is horrible, managed by idiots, pretentious, overpriced, and they will intentionally try trick you out of money.

We have had some positive experiences with the kennel at Town & Country, although we recently had an unsatisfactory grooming experience. The owner, who is full of southern charm, worked to resolve my concerns to my satisfaction. My bad experience was with the grooming of our cocker spaniel. She received a very short shave (razor lines and skin showing) rather than the style we discussed. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I got a shrug from the groomer and was told thats how she does the cut and that it would grow back. The groomer lacks the tact that I am accustomed to in the south. Having a comfortable relationship with our pets groomer is important to us, so we will find a different groomer. The grounds are very nicely landscaped, however, there is a very bad odor outside the facility. I thought it was the grooming facility, but I have scents (pun intended) found out that the odor is from a neighboring business. The staff at the front desk is very friendly and seems to love animals. The inside of the facility is very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend getting in touch with the owner if you have a bad experience because she does care about her business.

Ive taken my 4 Golden Retrievers to their Daycare and Groomers for years and have been very happy with them. The staff is knowledgeable and caring. Cooper, my oldest Golden, loves Luke and gets very excited when he hears he gets to go see him at Daycare. Since we were very happy with the Daycare and Groomers, we decided to start using their Veterinary Services as well. Weve seen 3 different vets there and couldnt be happier. However, Dr. Ashford is our favorite. Cooper (our 9 yr old) has several health issues and requires medications and constant lab work. Last week, he was in such bad shape that we were considering putting him down. We were devastated! Dr. Ashford did some additional research and we put Cooper on a handful of medications and within 2 days, Cooper was eating and able to walk again. He even wags his tail and has some pep in his step. Dr. Ashford is the best and holds a special place in our hearts as he was able to make Cooper comfortable so we can keep him around longer. All the staff at the Vet office is amazing, as well. All are professional, knowledgeable, and care for the animals. Thank you all for your compassion!!!

We started seeing Dr. Ashford at Town & Country back in the winter of 1994 when he was the only vet. 22 years later we still use Dr. Ashford and the other vets at Town & Country and we cannot imagine taking our dogs anywhere else. We have had healthy dogs but we have also had dogs with many health issues. One of our dogs has idiopathic epilepsy, diagnosed at the age of two. We had a hard time getting the seizures under control when he was first diagnosed because he would not respond to the traditional meds. Dr. Ashford worked with us every step of the way to find the right set of medications to help. He is diligent on researching meds and their side effects and even consulting with the neurologists at the vet school when needed. We cant thank him enough for giving our dog the best quality of life given this disease. Over the years as the practice has grown, we have also seen (and love) Dr Grouix and Dr. Merriman. All the vets, vet techs and staff are great. It is wonderful to know that our fur kids are well cared for.

Dr. Ashford and his staff at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital have cared for my many pets for over 25 years. I have moved several times over those years, but I always drive back to Town & Country because they are the “gold standard” of veterinary care. They are compassionate, highly knowledgeable, and experienced. They are kind to both the patients and the clients. They work to provide the best quality of life for the animals in their care. They stay abreast of the newest developments in pet health, they stress preventive care, and they invest in the latest diagnostic equipment. They competently handle both routine and out-of-the-ordinary health issues. I call Dr. Ashford the “Dr. House” of veterinarians for his diagnostic skills. And, they have a network of experts to consult or refer you to if necessary. They provide excellent follow-up care. And they make every effort to provide the best care in the most cost-effective manner. I recommend Town & Country without reservation.

I have taken my cats to Dr. Ashford at Town and Country since they opened over 20 years ago. I primarily see Dr. Ashford but have also seen Dr. Groulx and Dr. Merriman. All of them are outstanding vets who genuinely love animals and take excellent care of them. They always take time to explain the treatment plan and answer any questions I may have. Dr. Ashford is also willing to call in a consult with specialist vets at the NCSU vet school to get a second opinion and to ensure my cats are offered the best care. Even though I now live over forty minutes away from Town and Country I still take my cat to Dr. Ashford because I trust him and know he will take good care of my cat. I have found the prices at Town and Country to be very reasonable in comparison to what some of my friends pay at other veterinary clinics. I highly recommend Dr. Ashford and Town and Country vets along with the kennels and doggie day care.

We have used Town and Country Veterinary Hospital for over 13 years for our Shih Tzu Ruby. We love Dr. Nick Ashford but all the Doctors at the practice are wonderful. They are so kind and truly love my pet. One of the things I love best about their practice is that they do not overcharge for services. They do not push you to do unnecessary things and always offer you less expensive options for taking care of your furry family member. The last vet we used was all about the money. In over 13 years I have never once felt that way about this practice. I also love that the practice works hand in hand with the groomers in the adjacent business. Not only is this convenient it makes sure that if the groomer finds a problem the Vet staff comes right over to check on it. Finally, the practice is on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine offering many alternative therapies, including acupuncture.
