I have moved several times over the last 7 years that i have owned pets so i have tried a few different vets. I have loved some vets, but was not impressed with Forest Hills vet clinic. Pluses: it was very clean and the prices were fair Negatives: no one petted or talked to my puppy who was DYING for attention. They just went at her, scooped her up and gave her a shot. She loves people and this was her second vet experience. The first experience was great and this time she got scared because they werent talking to her. They also tried to sell me five different things (a toothbrush, ear cleaner, etc.). I said I had ear cleaner from my last vet that i was given for my cats ears and he said he couldnt vouch for the one that i had bought and that i should get this one if i wanted to be safe (it smelled exactly the same; i doubt his is magical). He also recommended repeating all of the shots my dog had gotten from their breeder because they may not have been as high of quality or cared for like his were. Poor bedside manner, he was very opinionated, told me that i was stupid for giving my dog dental treats and thinking they do anything. Overall I thought that he was just grubbing for money and has way to high of an opinion of himself.

More a pharmacy than a vet. - One of my dogs had some pain this morning and since my usual vet, Dr. Kerr was unavailable, I just wanted to get him in to make sure nothing serious was going on. Dr. Gigliotti hadnt even looked at my dog and was already talking about two different prescriptions. When I told him I was uncomfortable with that, it turned into a drugs versus natural remedies debate. He said, "I can give you two pills or you can come three times a week for laser therapy." I stated I would choose laser therapy. He still wanted to push the drugs and was upset that I didnt agree, which he made quite clear. When I told him I wouldnt debate it with him, I was asked never to return. I do NOT recommend Forest Hills. I think theyre more a pharmacy than a vet. I was charged $40 for a 5 minute exam of my dog and 10 minutes of trying to sell me prescriptions and convince me theyre "faster and they work." Theres a current health crisis that proves otherwise. Ill stick with Dr. Brad Kerr. Hes wonderful with my dogs and is holistic first and drugs only when he truly thinks its in the best interest of your animals. In the event of an emergency, Ill look elsewhere.

Dr. Paul and his wonderful staff far exceed any expectation for Pet Health Care I have experienced in Wilmington since relocating here in 1992. I came to meet Dr. Paul and his staff in October of 2007. My precious 14 year old Basset hound Chloe had been treated for Cushings Disease for approximately 22 months and our vet was retiring. I was mortified. Dr. Paul is literally 5 blocks from my home. I needed someone close and someone who was kind and gentle and most of all compassionate to her needs. Unfortunately, Chloe had to be euthinized in March of 2008. DR. Paul and his staff were wonderful! In July of 2009, Codee our 14 year old Basset hound had to be euthinized again, Dr. Paul was on top of it. On a brighter note...Dr. Paul and his lovely ladies at Forest Hill Vet Hospital Treat and Love our two new adorable additions miss Emma Claire and master Iketavian Kohl, the two sweetest French Bulldogs we have ever met. In true bully fashion they are CLOWNS! Thank you Dr. Paul and Ladies for all you do for the Armke clan. We love each and every one of you! Merry Christmas and a Glorious New Year to you all! Dont go to this vet! We took our two dogs to see Dr. G. and 5 minutes after speaking to him I knew I would not be returning. The techs were very nice, however, the doctor was extremely rude and insensitive. We had a concern of one dog possibly having heartworms and the puppy has a skin condition. He would not stop trying to sell us unneeded medications, treatments, and shots for long enough for us to express our concerns. We left the office with more pamphlets for expensive medications than advice. Both dogs were charged $40 each for an "exam" which consisted of a brief eye check and weight. He also suggested a heartworm and flea prevention that is very expensive and known to cause complications in dogs. I chose this animal hospital as a less expensive alternative to the vet we took our pets to previously, only to be shown you get what you pay for. I will not be taking my pets back to this doctor again.

Wonderful experience with Forest Hills Vet Hospital. This was my first but definitely not last experience with Dr. Gigliotti. Over the past weekend my 9 month old lab puppy developed a pretty bad infection in both ears. I was very concerned and wanted to get her to a vet asap, I called Monday morning and Forest Hills vet hospital was able to get her in same day. I was behind on shots and had many questions about dog food, shampoos, exercise, teeth care, ect. Dr. Gigliotti took the time to answer every question I had and generally showed interest in my dog. I never felt rushed and he showed me step by step how to administer antibiotics and clean the dogs ears. I feel that the service and attention that my dog and I received was top notch and the rates are very reasonable. I will be recommending this veterinarian to friends and family. Thank you Dr. Gigliotti. The Clark Family

We have been taking our babies to Dr. G for years now. He is the most kind and concerned vet we have ever been to. When we had to have one of our dogs put to sleep, he was so gentle and solemn and treated us and our passing dog with dignity. He never recommends more than is needed but offers extra tips on care, what to look out for etc. Our dogs always get a thorough visit and not just pushed in and out. The staff is awesome! He has had the same staff and they go over and above in service. No long waits either. Place is clean, cozy and bright. Someone else on this blog said they were not impressed, but after reading their other reviews of businesses on-line, they arent impressed with anyone so I disregard their rating. Forest Hills is the place to take your furry children!!

Crystal Langrudi Durham · 4 minutes ago Not sure this is the vet for our pooches. Weve taken out dogs here to get updates on vaccines after moving to the area. They are pushy with their products & unnecessary vaccines later as I contacted them for a nail trim & meds for one of my dogs ailments. They charge $14 for a nail trim not using a dremel, only clip. Last vet we went to it was free because they WANTED their pets to visit the facility frequently to stay familiar & comfortable with the environment. I do not recommend Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital based on my experience.

He is very caring and attentive and will always work with you if you cannot afford certain tests and procedures. He cares a lot about the animals he treats and does not talk down to you or belittle you for not being able to afford everything at once. My dog is VERY fearful at the vets and he is always gentle and calm with her and makes her comfortable. I was told at a previous vets(Banfield) that she was unstable and vicious and should be put down because of this.(she had never even snapped, just cowered) I would recommend Dr. G to anyone!
